I'd find it hilarious if Cena asked Edge if he'd like to swap belts. -

This segment is making me say OMG... As in OMG, Alicia Fox is coming off quite horribly. -

You could see Beth dropping Santino coming a mile away... But it was still pretty funny. -
they would never of worked as a heel/face

And it couldn't do anything but help take some of the stress off of Jeff in terms of doing high risk bumps. A similar turn for Jeff has been talked about in some other thread before, but I think the discussion ended when most realized Jeff doesn't have the mic skills to make it effective. -

Yeah... I'm definitely looking forward to the Lawler stuff, especially if we get some Andy Kaufman footage out of it. -
I believe his MS has greatly affected his memory. Damn, didnt know that. He of all people should know better than to throw around the 'I hope you die, shit' that he was hitting guys like Flair with. But you mentioned it earlier... Ole Anderson is still the most bitter, crusty, old veteran in the business.

MANY THANKS!

I could be wrong, but I thought there was at least a week or so before the Survivor Series as to when the Bret Hart stuff became public.
-
Yeah, there's a dark cloud over everything during this time period, starting from after SummerSlam. Survivor Series was a very depressing show even before the Screwjob. There was a feeling of "Something is going to go wrong, isn't it?" all throughout that night. As it's been said before, one of the most telling signs something was up was when Shawn Michaels won the European Title.

In retrospect, you can definitely see the "ground being prepared for war."

There is a sense of "credibility" to the short trunks. Look at all the world champions who wore short trunks compared to the ones who wore long ones. -

Didn't Koko work heel in Memphis under a name like Sweet Daddy Sugar? Koko worked as Sweet Brown Sugar. He also formed an effective heel team with Norvell Austin as The Pretty Young Things or The PYT Express. -
Flair has a definite "Miami Drug Lord" look going on in the latest episode.

I still remember the crowd heat he had going during that Smackdown match against Triple H. Being in the 10 Man Tag-Match on that Dallas Raw didn't hurt either.

What did/do your parents think of wrestling?
Diamonddust replied to King Kamala's topic in General Wrestling
My mom was the same way the more I think about it, especially when it came to picking up the WWF magazine each month. Thinking back on past Christmases, I remember them being filled with action figures, wrestling buddies, PJ's, and my favorite wrestling related toy of all time - the WWF ring. Kind of off subject, but thinking about the WWF ring made me realize how counter-productive the WWF Action figures were at the time. You could barely do anything with them. Instead, I wrestled my GI Joe's because you could move their arms and legs into actual wrestling moves. -

My mom was a bit indifferent towards it but never discouraged it or anything. Her family heritage is Italian so when I brought home a F.B.I. shirt after an ECW house show, she got a kick out of it. -
Part of me wanted him to say, "My name is ARMANDO..."
-
Probably not. Wrestle Birmingham shows are quite hit and miss.
-
JBL did a damned good job in that segment.
-
Wonder where that indy put down came from... didn't Vince just get a private screening of "The Wrestler"?

I think my dad tolerated it. I know he took my uncle, his younger brother, to matches in Birmingham in the '70s, and he never really had a problem taking me to events as well. He'd quickly make sure I knew everything was scripted and such, but he never outright complained about it. Heck, he even got someone that he worked with to tape PPV's for me. I do remember the first ECW show in Birmingham. We both went, and he had two distinct reactions. When New Jack came out, he, let me put it delicately, was not a fan. However, Tommy Rich came out as well. It was the day of an Alabama/Tennessee game, and Tennessee had won. Tommy Rich came out in a Houndstooth hat (The style Bear Bryant would wear), and he started talking about all the stuff he was glad to see when he came back to Birmingham. He ended it by saying, "The one thing I'm really glad about is that Bear Bryant is dead!". Naturally, the crowd went ballistic. My dad, who never really got suckered into things, looked at me and was like, "He better watch himself after that one."
