I was talking around the time of Starrcade '98, the event that should have featured Hogan vs. Goldberg. The Rock was into his first World Title reign at that point.

Regardless of what he knows, the majority of the people behind the scenes will see him as nothing more than a celebrity mark. I'm not trying to knock Prinze, but that's how this is going to turn out.

Him being a wrestling fan isn't positive. They don't want wrestling fans anywhere near the creative department because real wrestling fans tend to pick up gaping holes in logic and crap angles that have no business on television. I have a feeling Prinze will be finding that out soon enough. As mentioned before, Vince might use him as a show pony because of his name, but outside of that, I see very little happening. There was an article published a week or so ago about how a Hollywood writer was hired because he had a Ph.D., although he was a big wrestling fan. The article mentioned how Pat Patterson gave him hell because he was viewed as some Hollywood guy coming in to ruin the business, and then when he mentioned to Johnny Ace about how he enjoyed his work in Japan, Stephanie gave him hell for talking like a mark.

They could have recycled a part of the Magnum/Nikita feud, had Goldberg strike an official for some reason caused by the NWO, get stripped of the belt, an ally goes up against an NWO foe for it, while Goldberg systematically plowed down NWO members until he got Hogan at Starrcade. This was WCW we're talking about so naturally something like this wasn't going to happen. Plus, the WWE was getting beyond white hot at that point with not only Austin as a mega-star, but The Rock as well.

It also goes to show you how smart the WWE was in building Steve Austin. They had multiple times where they could have quickly put the World Title on him, but luckily, they waited until it really meant something by having it happen at Wrestlemania. (Granted, the wait almost bit them big time when Austin got injured during the Owen Hart feud).

According to the old Observers being published on the site now, the WWF basically told Vicious to show up and do the job at Superbrawl, otherwise WCW wasn't going to release him from his contract until September.

With my roster, everyone is generally from the same era with the exception of some real old timers. Even with that in mind, though, I've got the card balanced so that those stars are up against each other (Sheik vs. Brazil, Fargos vs. Valiants in a 6-man).

The Patriot as a heel would have been a great compliment and back-up to Kurt Angle in his early WWE run.
