Wrestling spared in Georgia: http://www.ajc.com/metro/content/metro/sto...YWZV&urcm=y (The blurb is about half-way down)

I met Jimmy Wang Yang back in 2001 at the Smackdown in Birmingham after ECW joined the Invasion. I went into a Waffle House after the show, and I noticed a lot of the international wrestlers were there (Essa Rios, Tajiri, The Yung Dragons). I didn't want to bother them while they were eating, but I ended up going to pay for the check at the same time they did. Jimmy looked at me and was like, "Yeah, we were wondering if you and your friends were going to come over and talk to you us." He was extremely nice and cordial.
-
Morrison in MITB... that's an interesting addition.
-
What do you think the ECW Title scenario at Wrestlemania be? Also, unless he's REALLY in the dog-house, it looks as if Punk will get a spot in Money in the Bank - making it Jericho, Kennedy, MVP, Carlito, Shelton, and Punk as of now. Again... who do you think the other two spots will go to? I'm saying Matt Hardy and Kane, unless they put Kane against Chavo.
-
Just imagine if it's a real windy day in Orlando...
-
I'm kind of curious to see the rigging they'll use for MITB since it'll be outdoors. I'm guessing they'll use the lighting rig above the ring to hang the briefcase.
-
Yep, especially when they could have kept Chavo-Punk going. Here is who I reckon will partake in the battle royal ECW: Balls, BDV, Burke, Morrison, Miz, Kingston, Knox, Richards, Dreamer, Delaney Smackdown: Palumbo, Hawkins, Ryder, Festus, Jesse, Noble, Henry, Khali Raw: Burchil, Cade, Murdoch, Haas, Santino and Duggan/Val/Crazy/Smith I'd imagine Kane and Cody Rhodes would make it in there... and probably Hardcore Holly. Well, I still think Kane has a spot in the MITB. I'm not all that concerned about who will make up the Khali fodder for the match. You could mix any name around as long as the important names are in. Actually, they need a "name" face and that might have to be Kane. If it wasn't Punk-BDV tonight, I'd almost say have Punk in the battle royal to play Melenko to Chavo's Jericho. Forgot about that... I do hope the Smackdown spoilers give us some indication about the final MITB spots.

Here's hoping they have Chavo at ringside during the whole thing, and he bum rushes the winner as soon as the last person is thrown over the top rope. Damn... So much for Stevie's push. That absolutely sucked.
-
That was pretty entertaining.
-
A trash-can lid shot to a football helmet, and Colin sold it as if he was unprotected?
-
The way Meltzer is reporting it is that the battle royal took place tonight at the Smackdown tapings with the match against Chavo to take place at Wrestlemania.
-
I wouldn't be shocked if they did the battle royal dark and opened the show with the ECW Title match. My money is still on Kane to face Chavo.
-
Heck, if MVP wins Money in the Bank, I'd have him nail Big Show with the briefcase.

Do you enjoy seeing a Woman get beat up, if shes an annoying heel?
Diamonddust replied to a topic in General Wrestling
Bobby Heenan brought up this point in a shoot interview with Cornette. In talking about women managers/valets, he said there is no pay-off in the future, other than the T&A aspect. The point of a manager is that, eventually, he's going to get his ass kicked by the person he's antagonizing. The majority of women managers/valents, Sherri being a definite exception, cannot elicit the same response you'd get from a male manager taking a beating. -
Agreed. That seems like the most logical ending, and both MVP and Kennedy could pull it off.
-
Who do you think will get the 8th spot if Kane gets one of the two spots left? The original post should have had Matt Hardy as one of the people I think will get a remaining spot.
-
I doubt it will happen, but it would make for a nice little side story to Edge/UT if Kane got to take on Chavo. Is it worth wasting time on a big stage for match that'll have two weeks of build and no heat at all because it's kinda cute? The only opportunity for the ECW Title to be defended was a blow-off match for Punk/Chavo in a gimmick like 2/3 falls. Good point. Still, the WWE has a habit of trying to get as many people involved in the show as possible so they can get a Wrestlemania pay-day. You've got pretty established people like Kane, Chavo, Khali, Henry, and some others still without something to do.

De La Hoya would have probably gotten over as a face. Mayweather is just a natural heel. The interesting question is would a UFC guy gotten over as a face. I remember reading the original plan was that Shane wanted someone like Chuck Liddell in this role.
-
They did the right thing by making Mayweather the heel last night. As far as "spectacle" matches goes, I'm really looking forward to seeing what they do with this one. The start of the angle at No Way Out was pure gold, and last night on Raw was a very hot segment. In the "it'll never happen, but man it'd be awesome if it did" category, Big Show should try to get Fat Joe to join him at ringside for the match. Joe and 50 Cent, who will be coming to the ring with Mayweather, hate each other. Joe has even said he might buy some ringside seats to Wrestlemania just for the chance to heckle 50 Cent.
-
Same here... unless they try and attempt a "do-over" with Kennedy... MVP seems like the logical choice to win Money in the Bank at this point, and that should really help him as he could do a program with either HHH/Cena or Undertaker. It goes along the lines of other "screw-ups" in wrestling costing themselves a major push, and then someone stepping into that spot and running with it.
-
Jericho doesn't really hate Jeff Hardy. You see, what they are doing on television is...nevermind, I don't want to ruin your breakfast. I think he was referencing the fact that HHH wanted to push Hardy over Jericho when Jericho returned with the whole Save Us thing late last year. Stephanie was the one who pushed hard to get Jericho back and the whole thing was buried in favor in Hardy. So in some ways, they might feel justified today. If that's the case, I wouldn't be surprised to see Jericho now drop the IC title, to Kennedy perhaps and then win MITB. Then I'd like to see him jump to Smackdown to feud with Taker/Edge, whoever is the champion after Mania. I'm betting things are changing rapidly now, but the original plan was to move Umaga to Smackdown, continue the feud with Batista, and then set up a Umaga/Undertaker Summerslam match.

bullshit backstage politics 1- he is over 2- he can wrestle 3- he is good on the mic whats the fuking problem I think you might have just answered your own question. He's over in spite of all that's been done to prevent it from happening. Jealously is a cruel bitch goddess.

I wonder if this means they'll do an angle with Matt officially taking his place. Now, that being said... Money in the Bank is wide open. Who wins it this year? Kennedy? Jericho?
