No, the video screen with wrestler logos started showing up in late 1992 (I know it was on the the late 92 SNME) and as such was used at PPVs in 93. Thanks... I learn something new everyday.

Dude, everyone's attire is pretty hilarious. They went WAY overboard with it being in San Antonio, although having "Walker, Texas Ranger" in the main event was pretty funny. The show was a nice slice of history as it was the transition show into the full blown "Clique" era since Diesel squashed Backlund virtually right after the great towel match with Bret Hart. Oh yeah - has there ever been a wrestler with a better entrance than The Undertaker? One more thing - Was this the first PPV that had a video screen?

Should set up a nice, extended Edge/Undertaker feud to Wrestlemania: Edge probably gets the belt at The Royal Rumble... Taker either wins the Rumble itself or gets the title shot at Wrestlemania in some other fashion.

    The What If Topic...

Flair would have dropped the title to Luger and won it right back when Luger flopped. After that, probably the same deal with Sting before finally losing it to Vader for Vader to get his long run as champion. If the showdown between Herd and Flair happened and Flair stayed in the company, Herd would have been removed earlier than he was as well. Still, Luger would have flopped. If Sting was saddled with a bad World Title run, Luger's would have been very similar.

They need to go ahead and eliminate Jeff Hardy so HHH can beat 5 men by himself. Post match - Kind of surprised Hardy got the pin over Umaga there.

Russo booked it as the finish to Bret vs. Goldberg at Starrcade in 1999. It was also referenced in the Sting/Hogan match at Starrcade '97.

    WWE 24/7 Discussion Thread - November 2007

Yeah, those were the days. he worked his ass of in this match, and Bret like always was great. Awesome NO DQ match even by todays standards. I don't mean to be an ass because I know she's dead now, but why was Bertha Faye ever pushed to the title? I don't recall her ever having a good match or any skill at all. She was terrible in this match and just looked so lazy, plodding and slow. Bertha Faye as Rhonda Singh was a very good female wrestler. She wasn't allowed to use her power style because that went against the trailer trash character they stuck on her.

    WWE 24/7 Discussion Thread - November 2007

I am HIGHLY looking forward to this: "The Legends of Wrestling: Bad Asses – Mick Foley, Michael Hayes, Tazz and WWE Hall of Famer Pat Patterson join host Jim Ross for a no-holds-barred roundtable discussion of the true Bad Asses of wrestling. Get the inside scoop and hear never-before-told stories about legendary brawlers including Harley Race, The Wild Samoans, Bruiser Brody, “Exotic” Adrian Street, The Undertaker and many more." Great to see Tazz included on the Roundtable... definitely hope they keep rotating people in and out for a different perspective. When talking about Brody, I wonder how much they'll say about how he got killed in Puerto Rico.

Ridiculous new rules for wrestling in Georgia

If this were an angle, it would be great, especially for an authority figure.

    Best Submission Hold

I agree with this. The Crossface Chickenwing was FEARED, and then Backlund's "what did these hands just do?" look in his eyes afterwards made it all the much better. I've always had a softspot for the Texas Cloverleaf, and the old school IRON CLAW! Yeah, the more I think about it, the more I have to admit Backlund's crossface chicken-wing was freaking awesome for his character at that point. He did an incredible job with the whole "crazy old man" character in the mid 90's.

    WWE 24/7 Discussion Thread - November 2007

I was shocked GAB '89 wasn't an option to choose from in the "Pick Your Big One" this past July. Also, if I remember correctly, Chi-Town Rumble and Wrestlewar '89 weren't really that good without the Flair/Steamboat match on each card. The thing that would be great to add would be a series on Smoky Mountain Wrestling since they own that catalog. I know it wouldn't be right to do it with Jim Cornette out of the company, but it would be a nice addition to the TV Classics page.
