I believe that comes during the build for King of the Ring, a card that was supposed to feature Bret vs. Shawn AND Austin vs. Pillman. -

Nitro doesn't go into NBA Mode until the May episodes. -

Probably because very little happens on either show, and the next MNW features the Austin/Hart ambulance brawl. -
Or you put Tazz back out there.

I think it was an example of a perfect storm: Bret had complained all that year about being screwed... McMahon decides to implement a real screw-job against him... In the attempt to turn a bad situation into a positive, McMahon uses it against Bret and creates the "Mr. McMahon" character... The Steve Austin anti-authority character is waiting in the wings and now has his perfect foil that the fans absolutely hate at that point. In what many people saw as a potential death blow to the WWE, they were able to turn it into one of the most profitable feuds of all time. -

If I remember correctly, the Nitro with the NWO coming out waving the Canadian flags happened the night after Survivor Series. However, you are correct... the news about Bret leaving broke early in the week before Survivor Series. -
The one thing I like about the Titan-Tron is that it gives the live audience a chance to see any backstage promos or things like that. Back in the day, especially on a PPV, when they'd do a stand-up promo with Mean Gene or someone... the live crowd didn't get to see that.

He wouldn't have lasted a year. Wasn't the Watts era a huge failure ratings and buyrates wise? True enough about Watts but Bischoff's first year or two in charge wasn't successful by any stretch of the imagination. I thought Watts was doing a good job at cutting expenses, even though his methods in doing so were questionable to the talent at the time.

Because he trusted Hebner wasn't going to do something like that to him. -
Bret Hart's then wife chewing out HHH after the fact was one of the best moments on "Wrestling with Shadows".

It's been said before, but there were people telling Bret to watch himself in the ring. Vader, in particular due to his work in Japan, was the one who told him to kick out at a one count and don't let himself get caught in any submission moves. -

Those are the only ones we know were involved. There has always been rumors that people were involved on both sides (Setting up the screwjob and warning Bret), but their identity hasn't been revealed. I believe Meltzer has always said a key player has never been named, and he won't be named until he dies, which makes me believe he's kind of up there in age. -

Just to clear up any misunderstanding about this part, Vince knew the WWF title belt couldn't get the garbage bin treatment. He had to make a story up for an unhappy locker room the next day, so he went with the idea that he couldn't risk the WWF title belt being thrown in the trash. It was never going to happen and couldn't happen anyway, which he was fully aware of. Just curious... was that going to stop Bischoff from simply announcing they had signed the reigning WWF Champion at the time, especially if Hart was going to stay until December? -

Yeah, I saw we were going to get a new round-table show this month. I can't wait... those shows are easily the best thing on WWE 24/7, and I'm glad they are doing new episodes. I curious, though, what the topic will be. -
Also, if you want to watch the actual video, use this link as most of the ones on YouTube are the clipped version and are missing 1:30 including most of the stuff I listed in bold. Ahhh, good stuff. How times have changed from when the crowd would get excited over a PROMO. Still one of my favorite Raw moments of all time. Just curious - when did The Rock make the crack about "wrestling a guy named Juventud"?

Oh I wonder if we'll be treated to footage of Vader's wonderful time in Kuwait. -
Although the caption should also read, "We hope he knows whats good for him and doesn't run his mouth and you know what."

Hogan ratting out Ventura's attempt to unionize is just an example of him trying to protect his spot in the company. Hogan was the top guy at the time and wasn't going to let anything jeopardize that. If a group of wrestlers went on "strike" before Wrestlemania II and Hogan was the headliner... how would that have looked if the show tanked? A similar parallel can be made with John Cena on Larry King after the Benoit murder/suicide. It wasn't talk of a union, but it was an example of the top guy keeping the company line.

Probably would have ran things in a similar fashion to the way Bill Watts did.

In their defense, they used a Budweiser truck tonight... I think they used a Miller Lite truck the other time. -
Probably a reign very similar to Sgt. Slaughter's during the Gulf War.

She was a knockout... as in she could knock out teeth if she wasn't careful. She was a state champion in shot-put, and Jim Cornette said she didn't know how to throw worked punches... so she'd always throw real ones. -
