  1. I could not stop laughing at that audio clip and had to rewind it three times, then I got to hear it again when Vader ran away. Great stuff. cabbageboy pretty much summed up exactly how I felt about Raw as it is the clear cut prototype of a Russo show. I'm shocked they even had one competitive match (Dude/Gunn) that ended clean. However, because watching this show in it's current state is all about reliving the angles I loved in high school, this was a pretty great nostalgic trip. The Outlaws are now wearing their South Park shirts (which is when I became fans of them), the Mero / Brandi thing (which got the second biggest laugh out of me after "MEEEEEEEEEEEE", Mero calling Brandi someone who's doing an awful gimmick for money followed by JR saying "He's a baaaaaaaaaad man"), Austin proclaiming his intent to go after the world title, etc. Compare this to the Nitro episode which has wrestling matches, but they're Konnan vs. Ray Traylor and Barbarian vs. McMichael. I actually decided to stop watching Nitro at that point and watch it later. Other Raw highlights: - Hawk doing the "N64 Knockout" sell where he raises his head, trembles a bit, then collapses back down to the mat. You don't see that enough! Michael Cole (in his Raw announcing debut) also seems to think Kane gave Hawk two Tombstones when it was just a regular piledriver and one Tombstone. - Taka gets a Memphis Funeral (two piledrivers and a spike piledriver is the sort of thing I assume killed a person in Memphis). - Sable's Idaho potato sack as a "2" written in front of the 50lbs marking. This amused me. Memphis Funeral would be an awesome name for a finisher of that caliber.
  2. Agreed... at least the first half of that DVD would be good, and they could flesh it out via the documentary style, although I know they have started doing ones without that method. But yeah... Steamboat/Rhodes vs. The Enforcers and Wargames '92 would top my list.
  3. Watched the latest roundtable this morning as the topic was famous African-American wrestlers. The panel got new members this time out as Teddy Long, Tony Atlas, and "Cowboy" Bill Watts joined Dusty and Jim Ross for the discussion. Teddy Long had some good stories, especially about how he broke into the business, as did Tony Atlas. Watts was pretty reserved and most of what he said has been said in his previous shoot interviews (Although he did manage to get a great crack in on Mark Madden, which I found pretty funny). The program also confirmed Watts is going into the Hall of Fame by putting a graphic up the first time he was introduced on the program.
  4. 111/120 on the IC Champions (Would have been a bit higher if I could spell a certain name correctly) and 33/37 on the WWE Champions (3 names that I missed were ones I had no business missing).
  5. I don't know if this counts, but the crowd absolutely shitting on Lesnar/Goldberg during Wrestlemania XX had to have ruined it for some people who weren't aware that both men were leaving. Still, the dynamic of that match is awesome just for the train-wreck aspect.
  6. I kind of wish they don't put the mid-level champs, or at least the Intercontinental Champion, in Money in the Bank. The traditionalist in me likes seeing that belt defended at Wrestlemania.
  7. After tonight, the card looks like: -Edge vs. John Cena -Triple H vs. Randy Orton -Shawn Michaels or JBL vs. The Undertaker (Money would be on Shawn) -Jericho vs. ??? (Although, it looks like Austin will get this one)
  8. Hunter's face is pretty damned hilarious.
  9. That just totally made up for EVERYTHING!
  10. Punt her Randy! Go for broke!!!
  11. I'm halfway shocked Shane didn't start hulking up after that.
  12. What I'd give for Shane to totally botch this....
  13. It would have been hilarious if King's laptop had porn on it.
  14. Orton should be rubbing McMahon's face in concrete, stomping him relentlessly, and setting up a couple head punts... NOT TAKING FREAKING HORRIBLE PUNCHES FROM SHANE MCMAHON!
  15. Trips will be in the arena by the time Randy gets to the ring.
  16. Looks like Trips is going to make a last minute save for Shane.
  17. Dory, probably... but not so much for Terry.
  18. Welcome to the Hall of Fame Terry and Dory! (I'm guessing The Brisco Brothers, Dusty Rhodes, or Jerry Lawler to induct them)
  19. Shawn should have taken a Clothesline from Hell for that.
  20. Oh dear God... Please put Shawn in this and make it a 3 way.
  21. As sub-standard as Wrestlemania IX was... I must say, Taker coming out with the vulture was a pretty wicked entrance. And the ending of that PPV is still laughable.
  22. Sadly yes, and reports say he trusts Jericho enough to go through with it. And it would probably be so overbooked that Austin would be heavily protected - you'd probably have Piper, Flair, and hell... Rourke, and who knows else... maybe even Steamboat or the rest of the Hall of Fame Class... getting involved. Now that would be pretty sweet - seeing The Funks and even Kevin Von Erich getting a run-in... I remember the crowd losing their mind when they did the Homecoming Show in Dallas, and Kevin brought back the Claw.
  23. This is looking more and more like Austin might get involved on behalf of the other Hall of Fame members.
  24. Jericho is freaking awesome.
  25. As bad as it sounds, I wonder how many in the crowd actually remember who Adrian Adonis was.
