I'm sure that Jocasta Nu or one of the Lucasfilm people on starwars.com have got a good answer for that. Because we know Lucas won't have one. That being said, I really don't care much either way. I'm just hoping for a prequel movie that delivers...

The one they used on Lost when Boone died was great. Really powerful stuff, even if Boone's death (on it's own) wasn't as shocking as, say Charlie's would have been.

It was a "two guys with no real reason to fight" fight (kinda like Benoit-Angle at WM), to be sure, but really it was all about setting up for the next PPVmovie. Anakin got his ass handed to him, so he'll be all about revanche in RotS. The Yoda/Dooku storyline got the shaft, and it's a damn shame because it'd be infinitely more interesting than Anakin's piss-poor pickup lines.

You gotta hand it to Obi-Wan, doing the clean job to Vader so that Luke can get over by defeating the Dark Lord later on. And at that point in the series, Luke needed all the help he could get, seeing as he was a whiny little bitch and all, so that's some great foresight on Obi-Wan's part.

OK, having watched the movie, and I'm pretty much in agreement with Justice on everything. Things may seem a bit off, but you're still going to laugh when Deep Thought gets to the Answer. Performance-wise, Alan Rickman (and Warwick Davis) steal the show as Marvin. Stehpen Fry as the book was inspired as well - I think he did the books-on-cassette reading as well. On the other hand, the fiancee (who's British and has never read the book. They exist, apparently) HATED the movie. Oh, she appreciated the very British stuff (like the tea) but apparently her absurity tolerance ends at about Monty Python. Oh, well. btw, the Chicken Little H2G2 teaser parody was pretty funny.

That's the thing that worried me. How do you translate written "aside" jokes like "humans state the obvious" to film? You just can't.

Well, this doesn't seem like good news... Basically, the bad reviews all seem to be saying that Adams' written wit doesn't translate well to the big screen. Well, those from critics who bothered to read the books, anyways.
