Doug Christie traded for Mobley and Bradley

Found this quiz in the Houston Chronicle. All you have to do is guess whether the quotes are about Steve and Cuttino or Brad and Jennifer... 1. "He had the biggest heart I've ever known." Aniston, in a magazine interview, talking about Pitt. 2. "They're just separated. Maybe they'll get back together. This is a very big deal for them." People magazine editor Jess Cagle, regarding the Pitt-Aniston breakup. 3. "Him not being here is going to be tough for me. I don't know what I'm going to wake up for." Francis on Mobley. 4. "We happily remain committed and caring friends with great love and admiration for one another." Aniston and Pitt in a joint statement regarding their breakup. 5. "It's a very emotional time for (them) and I understand that." Magic coach Johnny Davis, regarding the Francis-Mobley breakup. 6. "They lived their life in a fishbowl. They could not do anything without speculation going rampant." A publicist regarding Pitt and Aniston. 7. "I told (him), 'You think I'm going to turn around and do something that hurts you?' He was sort of like, 'Well, I've got no choice but to trust you. Your eggs are in my basket and my eggs are in yours.' " Magic GM John Weisbrod on a conversation he had with Francis, post-breakup. 8. "This decision is the result of much thoughtful consideration." Pitt and Aniston in their statement. 9. "I can't put it into words ... living with a guy, just knowing that every day when I wake up that's something I can count on ... They messed up something that started so good." Francis on Mobley. 10. "They're searching for the answer, which is not an easy one to come up with." A Pitt family friend on how the once-loving couple is handling things now. OK, it's not that difficult, but it's funny...

    Iron Chef America the Series

I'd probably say helped, because then you didn't have IC fans pissing, moaning and posting everywhere about how it wasn't really IC and such. I could also point out how Iron Chef USA had a horrid audience, but I don't think that's a real valid point because a) I figure that the MGM Grand was giving away tix as a comp, so the audience didn't really care one way or the other and b) it's not like the audience was the only shitty thing about those shows.

High School basketball game ends in 5-2 score

That's brilliant in a twisted, mind-numbing pull-you-hair-out kind of way.

    Favorite TD celebrations

There's still ego involved there. IIRC, Sanders reasoning for handing the ball over was because he knew he'd be back in the endzone. I liked the Texans spoof of the cellphone, where Carr and a couple of OLs were searching the goalpost for a cellphone but couldn't find one. And naturally, they were fined.

I think that might be one of his tattoos.

CBS Cancels 'The Will' After One Airing

I didn't like the elimination process, but a big ass murder mystery was a pretty swank idea.

    Iron Chef America the Series

My personal thoughts on that was that the specials were "pass the torch" matches. There's no way that your Iron Chefs should lose their first match, and to beat Sakai is the equivalent of getting the rub from Hogan in '91. However, a lot of this is based on the Puck-Morimoto match. In a fair match, Puck would probably wipe the floor with Morimoto, but we'll never know since Morimoto didn't really try. I mean, while Puck was making some whacked out shit, Morimoto made... tomago? Not exactly earth-shattering stuff from a man known to push the limits of Japanese cuisine. I agree. Brown in the Hattori seat is perfect, but I think he needs someone to play off of. I don't care even if it's W, just get someone else in there. Kevin Brauch just doesn't seem very comfortable on the floor, and besides, noone can to Ohta-san on the floor...

    Big Fatt Obnoxious Boss

What happened is that it was on Fox, a network whose strategy has always seemed to be "throw tons of stuff at a wall and see what sticks. And then draw lots to see which shows that stuck get renewed". In fact, I'm in amazement that Arrested Development is on Fox, simply because it's good (and wasn't cancelled). And yeah, that's the only Fox show I watch (besides the Simpsons on occasion).

Not really. More like starvenger : The Amazing Race = Bob Barron : SNL.

    Iron Chef America the Series

Never got into Feenie's show, but I can't deny that he's really talented. Now, if only Emeril would bring his overrated ass into the arena...

    LOST

And "revving up the waterski tow-line" doesn't have the same ring, does it? Damn right. I promise, no more "jumping the shark" references from me. Unless there's another death swerve this season, in which case I'm boycotting the show. I'm thinking because seeing Jesus tit-fucking a chick has got to be interesting?
  15. I've only seen Cohen in his Ali G character, and you're right, it's not funny. I've heard that Borat is pretty funny, though. Maybe I should make use of BitTorrent while it's still around...

CBS Cancels 'The Will' After One Airing

It's a fairly encompassing genre. For instance, just about anything on TLC could be considered "Reality TV", even though some situations are staged. Then there are the unscripted documentary-style shows like The Airline, which are heavily edited to create the drama you see each ep. And of course, there are the competition shows like Survivor, Amazing Race, and American Idol, which we all know about. I think there's a lot of truth to that. In an interview Johnny Fairplay noted that you get a lot of the model/actor types on these shows not only because they are pleasing to look at, but also because they know how to play to the camera, if they so desire.
  17. Sasha Cohen is fucking nuts.

    Iron Chef America the Series

They moved Kitchen Stadium America to New York, and since Wolfgang Puck is based out of California and has a hectic schedule as it is it didn't make sense for him to continue on. And since Morimoto is based out of Philly, he was asked to come aboard. Wonder if the Challengers get to choose an Iron Chef to battle?

It gets the point across. Plus, I wanted to write "Fonzie's revving up his motorcycle"...

DC COMICS OFFERS SIX COMICS FOR $4.99

It's a great idea, but it should be noted that none of the stories in the TPB could be what you might call "recent". In fact, Death: The High Cost of Living #1 was one of Vertigo's first releases...

CBS Cancels 'The Will' After One Airing

Yeah, I see it. Usual "it's not reality" argument, which I contest that everyone knows anyways. And to be honest, it's a cliche generalized argument that is right up there with "Your favourite type of music sucks". And Crimson Platypus actually said "very in-depth game shows". No mention of bad. Although by all accounts, The Will is.

    "Be Cool"

I just finished reading that actually. I didn't enjoy it as much as some of his other stuff. Tishimongo Blues with Don Cheadle and Matthew McConahey is the next book-to-film.

    LOST

Funny, he doesn't look like Monty Brown. Yeah, yeah, I know. But I agree. He's the Alpha Male on the show, even if he isn't the baddest ass on the island.

CBS Cancels 'The Will' After One Airing

Unfortunately next week it'll be up against the second hour of the karaoke juggernaut that is American Idol. Which in these first few weeks will be closer to reality than the latter weeks, since there are delusional people out there who think that they are the best singer ever. Thanks for the insightful analysis, Slayer.
