Thoughts - Is it wrong for me to think that the Detroiters miss hockey more than they've let on? - Props to Rasheed for going into the stands and trying to protect his fellow players. - Artest throws a pretty vicious right hand. - I feel sorry for any innocent bystanders that got caught in the middle. - Yes, the fan started it, but it doesn't give you the right to charge into the stands after the guy. - This is the first time I've ever seen Screamin A Smith talk at a normal volume. - I hope Bill Davidson has the hockey setup from when the Vipers were at the Palace, because I'd put those up and stick everyone behind the glass next Pacers-Pistons game

Well, I'll give you the Nitro-at-crash-TV pace. Except that it wasn't well-booked IMO. It was booked so that everything revolved around the nW... er Kings of Wrestling. Which I haven't seen since maybe Raw. Except Jolly Jeff Jarrett isn't HHH, Nash isn't DAVE, and Hall... well Hall is probably equal to Flair at this stage of Ric's career. It's kinda sad to say this, but Mero didn't look fruity enough. I think it'd be a good if you give him the "delusional heel that thinks he's a face" gimmick though, and leave him in the midcard. The DDP thing seems like a Raven-booked angle for some reason. I didn't mind DDP, actually, since he wasn't a part of almost every segment. If you mean how they actually look more than one PPV ahead, then yes. Although booking only short term for Savage may be a good idea, and even then, have Monty available to step in when Savage does flake out. The main event will only get AJ and Hardy over if they're booked strongly. Which they probably won't. I'm predicting that they get used as the Outsiders' bitches and that Savage (after doing basically nothing) pins Hall for the victory. I hope that I'm wrong and you're right though.

Wow, that's a poorly written column. I'll give him that he ties everything into his theme of illusions, but he really stretches to make this essay work: - First he explains the concept of the 'Devils', and cites two cases - customers who buy something, send in the rebate, and then return the product, and customers who buy something, return it, and then buy it back at a discount on the 'open items' rack. - Then he jumps to the conclusion that because BB doesn't like these 'Devils', they dislike all people who buy loss leaders, and wonder why they have them in the first place, since BB is out to screw everyone over. (Not that he tries to really prove this, since he's already going to his next point, which is that) - Apparently BB - and BB alone - 'force' the manufacturers to create a mail-in rebate that apparently noone likes, and especially not the consumer. And somehow, this causes rifts between everyone. (Which is why consumers and manufacturers keep coming back to BB.) - And then he somehow goes into a rant about data collection (in this case BB asking you for your zip code) and how smart he is by paying cash and refusing to give out his zip code... actually, I'm not sure what this has to do with illusions. Maybe he just doesn't want to be found when SkyNet goes online? So anyways, in the end I'm not really sure what point this guy is trying to make other than pay cash and fly under the corporate radar.

Probably not, but the 2010 Winter Olympics in VanCity will. Personally I think that they're wasting their time with this bid, but I suppose you can never underestimate the power of the US television market on this...

There are no real friends this season, so if you're PM and you bring someone in, you'd better count on them gunning for you.

Forbes Magazine Says NHL Owners Overstated Losses

Must be nice to be in an industry where you get raises. I'm in one where they're reducing salaries... -
I know what you're talking about, and I hope it's wrong as well. But looking at who's left, I have a hard time NOT putting those two through to the final four, since there are two people I'd fire ahead of them. And given that the task in the final four is to interview with some of Trump's execs, I could see those two doing well there as well. So yeah, it could conceivably happen, but I hope it doesn't.

21 shares Claire ($39.90) 40 shares Ethan ($20) 5 shares Charlie ($16) 2 shots Jack ($24) That should leave me with a whopping $0.10 ...

Seeing as they say that one person goes "right to the final four", it's probably back to normal for the firings (winning PM for the next task gets an exemption for the final 5). Jenn will probably get moved over to Mosaic, although that's probably not smart if your aim is to get her fired (they haven't seen how smooth she's been lately in the boardroom). Judging from Trump's comments Andy will probably be PM. At this point we're nearing the endgame and Trump is probably thinking that Andy needs to show why a guy fresh out of university should be running a (presumably non-bankrupt) Trump company. Personally, I hope Andy wins next week, and Ivana joins Blinky on the sidelines...
-
In hindsight, yes, I should have. But hell, I like being surprised first, and overanalyzing later. It's been 8-9 weeks and counting, actually. I gotta say Seven of Nine has been amazing in how she's "weaved a spell" over everyone. She was useless in this task wrt providing something original, KNEW she was getting busywork because of that, yet she comes off best in front of a digital camera and suddenly she's the star of the team. I'm in awe.

OK, I didn't expect that. Yet, that felt rather planned...

I would like it on the record that I was neither laughing at nor with Ralphie May...

I think you're paraphrasing there. I'm sure the others were hoping that he'd give Ivana a ride...

It's not so much that they've taken anyone with talent, it's that they've taken people whose talents would be better focused in a sitcom rather than generic crappy comedy movies...
-
I wish Raj success in whatever other endeavours he does. The only other two left I can say that of is Kevin (who has an awesome name - no bias, of course) and Andy, who I still think won't win, but who I hope Trump will hire anyways.

bump Not 10 minutes in and both Ivana (because she's overjoyed that she had a good idea) and Blinky are annoying the fuck out of me....

If you've ever tried to watch The Casino or The Simple Life ("shockingly", both on Fox), there were a lot of Convenient Occurences, so yes it does happen. There's no denying that. Somebody somewhere must've thought "reality television" was a great buzzword, but really how does that label apply to a show where you're stranded on an island for 39 days? That's probably where a lot of the backlash comes from. But is the name really that different from, say, soap opera, which neither promotes soap (although they used to) nor is an opera? I think people need to let go of the whole "but it's not really reality" thing and either judge a show on it's own merits or simply (as I assume you do) don't watch at all...

Sometimes. Somehow I don't think that Hippolyta was intended to be in the JSA, although in all fairness that did fix that continuity problem left by Crisis...

Women, but it's actually a smart move. The day before Thanksgiving is one of the busiest travel days of the year, so there's probably going to be a loss of viewers anyways.

I kinda like it, but that may be because they make the homeowner wear a shirt that says "It's All My Fault". That and Jennie likes to wear tight shirts. Body Challenge is essentially Biggest Loser without the voting off or the fixation on losing as much as possible in a short amount of time. In essence it's more docu-reality as opposed to reality competition.
-
I still don't like Clean Sweep, since the homeowners don't really have to do much. At least on the other ones there's a homeowner doing something. I still don't see the appeal of "The Biggest Loser" (Body Challenge seemed to get the diet message across better IMO) but a lot of people watch it so there must be something to it. I am glad to see that the hoax shows are tanking. I admit, I liked the Joe Schmo shows, but that's more about poking fun at other reality shows and showing what good people the marks really are. The ones on NBC and Fox right now are just simply cruel.

Seeing as I've been soooooo good at this, I've decided to let a toonie do the picking for me... Arizona at Carolina 3.5 Dallas at Baltimore 9.5 (what? stupid coin) 6.5 Denver at New Orleans Detroit at Minnesota 8.5 9.5 Indianapolis at Chicago 5.5 N.Y. Jets at Cleveland 5.5 Pittsburgh at Cincinnati San Francisco at Tampa Bay 8.5 3.5 St. Louis at Buffalo Tennessee at Jacksonville 6.5 Miami at Seattle 11.5 6.5 San Diego at Oakland 6.5 Atlanta at N.Y. Giants Washington at Philadelphia 12.5 5.5 Green Bay at Houston (Note to self: must really get that Kailee Wong Texans jersey) 6.5 New England at Kansas City Tampa will score 30 points

I think a lot of creators are annoyed by the continuity of long-running books - Byrne (at times) is another example. And I can sorta see where they're coming from, but if you're coming onto a comic for issue 430, you should probably have a good idea what you're getting into.
