    Ashlee Simpson on SNL

Using Yakity-Yak is the icing on the cake... That's not Yakity Yak, that's the BENNY HILL THEME Which makes this 100 times better That's the actual name of the Benny Hill theme...

No, but Bree Turner was in the craptastic Backyard Dogs. Rent that and see if you can drool and vomit at the same time...

I don't think Tupac-Biggie would have fans comparing their tits and asses though. Wasn't this one of the things that happened in Mean Girls?

I've done it in front of hundreds before, although not solo (I was in choir in high school)...

    Ashlee Simpson on SNL

Well, seeing as jobbers are now "enhancement talent", why not? Seriously though, they can spin it however they want. The point here is that she lip-synched on a show where most of the performers sing live, and those that don't, sing mostly live (although thinking back, Ya Kid K may have lip-synched, or Technotronic fake-played. Not sure which). Can someone dig up that article on Ashlee saying that she wouldn't lip-sync her stuff?

I did mean to say that. I feel ashamed to have gotten my Go-Gos songs mixed up... ...ok, all better now.

I agree with you about the hooks and stuff, but that doesn't make it better than the pop music out there, it makes it about the same. Give some credit to Avril's writing partners though. Working with Chantal Kreviazuk seems to have helped her out. She does have a nice ass. Musically, her cover of "We Got The Beat" was decent, but other than that her stuff doesn't do much for me.

The surprising part here is that she ran off crying. Like I said, I heard her sing live on some morning show or other and it wasn't good (the "Ohhhhh" part was particularly grating) so singing bad isn't a shock.

    1) Is doing a hoedown what all the kids do these days when there's a big clusterfuck? Suckas gotta know... 2) Yeah, it was about as fashionable as Maria's outfits on The Apprentice. 3) Not a bad idea - they don't care about lip-synching overseas. But could she take Jessica with her? She ruined another of my favourite songs with her suck-the-life-out-of-it rendition of "Angels"... 4) She needs to blame her sound guy as well, as her band played way louder than her vocal track. Actually, non-singing aside, it's pretty much all on Sound Guy for the snafu. 5) Well, she's no better or worse looking than Maya (not a compliment btw) but really it's the only thing she could have done to try and get some heat back. The only problem? It was a Shockmaster-like goof.

    SNL Review

You may have to add an addendum for your other postings that this was sarcasm... It does seem like it. They were kinda not playing anything, and then they just went with it, I guess. Somewhat unprofessional, I gotta say. 3 shows in and we can say that NELLY sang live and Ashlee Simpson didn't. That's fricking bizarre... Maybe fiber, because when he's on, there's a lot of crap on my screen...

    Ashlee Simpson on SNL

I'd be too embarrassed to come back out at all, which is why I'm impressed that she came back out. Not enough that I'll become a fan of hers, but still.

Well, even the fricking Spice Girls sang (mostly) live on SNL. It's not like she's doing Top of the Pops or the Brit Awards - they likes their lip synching and choreographed over there. Good for her for coming back out and apologizing though.

    Ashlee Simpson on SNL

Something was seriously fucked up there. She HAS sung live before (Today or GMA or Cold Pizza or something) and it wasn't great. The show's been off track since the Black Hole of Suck reared his head on Update, really...

So Harry Knowles wins the bet, although really he had no clue who was gonna get the part. That kinda sucks, although I suppose Mark Millar got the publicity he wanted out of that wager anyways...

    Bigger internet god

So what you are saying is that they only play character parodies of themselves? More or less. It's been that way for Walken as of late. Shatner's been milking the same style since Star Trek. And I'm sure that they know it. And really, I don't care that they do - they're still good at what they do.

Bigger star - Walken My bigger pop culture deity? Walken. Like William Shatner, he's one of those guys where his role is always "Christopher Walken as X", bu for Walken, it works. Whether it's talking about cowbell, dancing in a Fatboy Slim video or talking about the Tooth Fairy, it works.
