Ugh, I hate Mirna...

I'm thinking that this leg will be non-elimination btw, with every other leg until the final 3 also being non-elimination. Just a thought, but it'd be cruel for the last final 3 team to start the last leg with no money, so I see that last leg being a hellacious uber-long one...

Because I'm one of about 5 people on this board that care, here's a revelation about the Fast Forwards that we didn't know about.

Why are they feeding a 3-year old popcorn anyways?

Some changes to the shipping for this week:

They did this last lockout as well. Basically barnstorming pro hockey players...

True Life: I'm a Professional Wrestler

Nice to see that MTV2 is doing what MTV doesn't, and show music videos. Oh wait... -
I know what you mean. I'm sure that Phelps is a nice guy and all, and it's not as if the guy's a poor swimmer by any means, but the American Hype Machine would've been insufferable had he won the 7 golds or whatever. Just enjoy the experience, Mike...

So am I. I saw it this weekend, and it was a pretty good flick. Almost makes me want to read the book it has nothing in common with except the title... ...and it's nice to see that Harold and Kumar might eke out $20 mil...

Well, that 200m final was as good as advertised. Phelps was a non-factor until the end, and Thorpe's finishing 50 was very nice. And the Canadian finished a respectable 6th in a race that he had virtually no chance of medalling in.

Diving analysts are bothersome by nature, as what you and I would consider a damn good dive is picked apart by someone who, like the judges, are paid to be nit-picky.

I'm just glad that a team (that doesn't start with "Boston" and end with "Bruins") has decided to walk away from an arbitration hearing...

I've never heard about anything that small used to breed an alien, but take a look at the Queen in Aliens--does she seem to have ANY visible rabbit traits to you? Well, I think she hopped a couple of times...

There's a Journey joke in there somewhere, isn't there? I'll be honest, I thought this was only a medal sport in the Commonwealth Games...

For everything except football... yes.

Late night talk show shakeup coming..
starvenger replied to MarvinisaLunatic's topic in Television & Film
Sasha Cohen might be a good choice. Ali G on TV every night gets old very quickly. Of course, they'll probably hire that kid who does a talk show from his house, and does a Carson-like monolgue with Leno-type humour (read: none at all). -
That's just a guess, though. I mean, if humans who aren't fully mature can have children - then why not this species of alien? Sure, why not? Maybe they incubated the Queen inside a rabbit or something.

I agree with you there. Bob Saget, TV personality, I hate with a passion. Bob Saget, the comedian, is pretty funny. I think the only time on TV that we've seen glimpses of the "real" Bob Saget is when he hosted SNL...

I have to agree with you there. For instance, I avidly watch poker on ESPN and the Travel Channel, and these are taped events that have happened a year ago at the most. However, you will not see tapes of these shows until they air, so it's still new to me. What bothers me about the NBC broadcasts is that other countries can and will air the Olympics live, while we get a mix of live and taped, in the name of ratings.

Syndication and little kids' fascination with everything Olsen. Plus it was part of the TGIF slot with Urkel.

CHUD has a good review of the movie. Well, it's not a good review in the sense that it gave it a good rating (5/10), but good in that it tells you the good and the bad points in the movie, and why he thinks so. There's also a throwaway Wolverine quote in there, but that's one of those "things that may interest only me" (TM Peter King) things...

Spider-Man, at least, IS an Avenger. And since Wolverine = $$$ he's Marvel's bicycle. I've said on the Nexus that Cage isn't needed as long as Rage is a reservist. He's more interesting anyways.

As an interesting note, Firestar is one of the few Marvel characters to have been created OUTSIDE of the comics - she was created specifically for "Amazing Friends" and first appeared in print around Uncanny 194... Also, Firestorm is also credited as being DC's first "Marvel-style" hero, whatever that means...

Makes more sense than synchronized swimming, I think. Word is that Brazilian soccer players are also in the diving competition...

btw, have I mentioned Thorpe isn't human? In the 400-free heat that I saw (again, THANK YOU NBC for showing this while the fiancee saw the finals at around the same time.) He looked like he was swimming sooooo slow, yet he's killing the rest of the field. Replays showed that he is actually one helluva kicker, but still - Un-fricking-believable.
