I think UPN's repeating it today. Mose has that Wisconsin/UP-ish accent. Randy sounds like a backwoods hick, which is funny since Miriam doesn't and presumably they grew up in the same community since they did date. And I think Jonas and Ruth have that accent you're talking about.

Didn't watch the results show (playing ESPN NFL 2K5), but that's a pretty surprising result. Well, not THAT surprising since Jay can be a pretty good comic and has the Clay fans behind him, but his act really didn't kill like his semi-final set. Well, that's a part of his act, but when the audience is practically BEGGING to love you, it just doesn't work when that happens. This doesn't change anything - I'm still voting for Heffron, Alonzo and probably Kathleen. Sorry Jay, but here's to hoping you don't John Stevens your way into the final 3...

Really? They do for me... And you think that bug was bad...how about the game freezing with one minute left in the last quarter. It has to do with when you push X...before the screen with stats, and replay starts. I've had something similar happen, but in Tiger Woods 2004. I'd just won a major, too... BL: I haven't tried it in a non-TV presentation, but I think it's one of those random things that just happen, and I needed to vent.

I experienced a bug that absolutely pissed me off. Playing as Houston vs San Diego, my TE caught a pass just inbounds for a 2nd and 2. Chargers challenged, and the play was upheld. Which is great, except that they did it with about 10 seconds left on the play clock, and when play resumed, I started with those same 10 seconds left! Net result - delay of game, 5 yard penalty. I also had a similar scenario vs Jersey/A, same result, but the play clock started at 25 like I'm pretty sure it should. So the moral of the story here is - check your play clock after a challenge.

Ironically, the only rape the DOESN'T piss me off is the type that people like him experience in their jailcell. Well, like him if it's true. This is true. If you rape someone, you can go to hell. On the other hand, if you're falsely accusing someone of rape, you're still pissing me off. That's pretty low as well.

The 1970s What If series was utter and complete unreadable shit. The 1989 series (or at least the first fifty issues of the 1989 series) was much much much better and much much more readable..... I think the cutoff for readable issues of the 1989 series was the end of the five-part TimeQuest storyline in issue 39, "What If The Watcher Saved The Universe?" I think the story was actually called "TimeQuake", and to me was most memorable for the Time Authority (or whatever they were called), all of whom looked like Mark Gruenwald...

D-Man isn't really mainstream though. Hawkman is both cool and lame at the same time. The concept - flying guy who wields a mace - is very cool, but they've messed around with his continuity so much that people have really stopped caring. Now, with the new series and Hawkgirl playing a prominent role in Justice League, I'm hoping that they stop fucking around with the character.

There is no such thing anymore. You either go to the comic store, and buy comics once a month or some such. Or you only know the characters who've been in movies. There's no in between anymore. Look at Damaramu's original post. Sounds pretty casual to me.

Don't forget the girl who acts like she should be on The Real World instead of this show. Kevan seems to be the most "normal" of that bunch.

The old couples, sure. DEFINITELY not the gay ones. Other than Cha-Cha-Cha in season 2, the gay couples have been pretty nasty. Yeah, noone seemed to like Team Guido, from what I understand (never watched TAR 1... what was I thinking?). Cha-Cha-Cha is quite possibly the most popular team from all the seasons. I don't think there was a gay team in TAR 3, but half of Kenny G was, so I suppose that will have to do. They're pretty popular as well. Chip and Reichen... worst winning team ever. I say team because Zach earned every single bit of his $500K. We all know who didn't earn her half. Anyways, these guys talked about breaking stereotypes about as much as Charla does. Yep, they're not just alpha males - they're GAY alpha males. Way to go, guys. This year... no gay team and no alpha males. Although if the twins were lesbians would anybody object? I'm having trouble deciding whether Colin is Steve Buscemi creepy, or Chris Benoit intense...

You're wrong there, the last storyline in his book has been tremendous, and has gotten quite a buzz. Well, that's definitely good to hear, but I still stand by what I said. The casual comic book reader will always know him as "the guy who talks to fish", and I don't think that there's much to make them think otherwise.

I disagree. Guy was perfect for the Giffen/DeMattis/Maguire Justice League. Especially his "fight" with Batman...

Superman can be boring depending on the writer. Using him properly means showing that he's not only super powerful, but can also use his brains. To me, the big cosmic stuff is rather boring. By that same reasoning, Thor should be boring as well. But almost every time that I've read it Thor has been more interesting than it has any right to be. Speaking of Thor though, The Ultimates are lame. Or maybe the book was just boring with it's glacial pacing and even more glacial time between issues. Aquaman will never overcome the Superfriends era. The guy is super-strong, can breathe underwater and is/was King of Atlantis, but he'll be forever known as a guy who can talk to fish. Spawn was pretty lame. The smartest thing McFarlane did was have the guest writers early on in the series. And I say was because I haven't read Spawn in ages, so I can't really say if it's still lame.

If you're looking for What If's, then comicons and quarter bins are probably your best friend. Exiles is basically What If? combined with Sliders, so I'd recommend giving that a try as well.

Yeah, what he said. Although if you're really impatient, you can probably find DVD bootlegs at a local comicon, or downloads from BitTorrent et al. Not that I would advocate illegal downloading or anything. I'm just saying.

Alison and Donny lost because they made a poor decision wrt taxi or cab (but that's not the real disagreement here). But constant Philiminations with one team very far behind is anti-climatic, I agree. With the Bowling Moms and Twinkies having a substantial lead, you knew that Team Lava Life was done. Having said that though, major long-haul transportation is critical to continued success (and life) in the Race. So I can't complain too much when a team screws up and ends up way behind the others. Especially when Team Midget manages to find a great flight and end up in the middle of the pack instead of at the back.

I gotta agree there. It's probably something I'll get used to not having over time. Couple of questions - How do you switch a QB from pass to run on a busted pass play? And can you make the clock speed up after you choose a play (similar to how Madded will run the clock down to 19 for you after choosing a play)?

I'm sure it'll eventually be used, but hopefully the lack of usage tells the producers to dump it. My pet theory is that the Fast Forwards will show up for the (non-final 3,) non-elimination legs. Oh, and the Twinkies ALMOST hugged. Sorry Parka.

One of those four is guaranteed to get knocked out, as only 3 comics go on to the finals. Barring a disastrous set, I think Alonzo and John have their tickets punched and ready to go. For me, it's really between Kathleen and Gary for my 3rd vote.

Charla, when she's not using her independence catchphrase, is actually a pretty good racer. Mirna is insanely annoying...
