OK, so it's the WhipLash then? I think I saw D'Amore use it in BCW (is that still around?) but I don't remember anymore...

Editorial wanted Xorn back. Costumes... I can do some descriptions if I can't find any pics... X-Men (Away team): Polaris - same as before Iceman - he's all ice, doesn't need no stinkin' costume Gambit - same as it ever was Rogue - ditto Havok - variation of his original costume, but with more tubes and stuff. Frankly, it kinda sucks. Juggernaut - back to brown, I think Wolverine - "classic" cowl, blue and yellow costume but the colours extend down the leg instead of stopping at the trunks. Astonishing X-Men (Home team): Beast - tights in the style of his old X-Factor costume Shadowcat - variation on her "Sprite" costume, without the cowl. Lockheed - he's nekkid. But as always, he rules. Cyclops - looks like a blue Solar, Man of the Atom Wolverine - same as above, but more of an "original" (ie Hulk 181) cowl. White Queen - same Uncanny X-Men (X.S.E.) Cannonball - red and yellow costume that kinda looks like a streamlined Iron Man outfit. Nightcrawler - an outfit that he wore in Excalibur for about 2 issues, with an added "X" Bishop - I think it's the same as before, but I'm not sure. Marvel Girl - an updated version of the orginal Marvel Girl costume. Sage - purple bodysuit with a shawl/hood Wolverine - cowl somewhere in between the other two. Storm - black bodysuit with a cape.

Yet Dany Heatley is still free even though he killed Dan Snyder. This won't amount to any jail time for Bertuzzi I think, but hopefully they'll levy a hefty fine...

Astonishing 2 was a bit disappointing (but still good), but I suppose that since #1 was very good anything was gonna be a letdown, eh? Also, is it too much to ask that Cassady, Davis and Larocca get together and get some consistency on Wolverine's mask? Cassaday's going with the original mask, Larocca's got the "classic" one that Gil Kane drew, and Davis is somewhere in between...

Probably not, seeing as they've already got a fricking huge one down on Queen's Quay. And parking is already crap at that intersection...

Hey Kevin, great name. The best place to start for Marvel is probably the "Essential" series, where you get a bunch of the early Spider-Man, X-Men and other comics for around $25. The drawback is that these comics are in black and white, but make up for that with about 20 stories in each volume. Another good starter would be to go to Barnes and Noble and get the "Ultimate Spider-Man" compendium, which I think contain the first 36-40 issues of the book. But it costs $40-50, so it might be out of your price range. If you're willing to look around for stuff, go to ComicBookConventions.com and find a convention in your area. Admission is generally cheap, and you can find a LOT of comics for cheap - generally 3 or 4 for a dollar. These may not be the best stories in the world, but it allows you to sample a variety of comics. My advice would be to look at the covers and see what appeals to you - one man's trash is another man's treasure. Happy hunting!

The way I see it, he never should have died (again) in the first place, but Morrison wrote himself into a position where that was the only logical result. But since Magneto is integral to the X-Men mythos, editorial NEEDED to bring him back, and so he's back. btw, to preserve your sanity, ignore everything Morrison wrote from Planet X onwards with the exception of Xorn being Magneto (which to me still doesn't make sense, but whatever) and Jean dies (again). His last 2 arcs sucked anyways.

Yeah, it sucks, but at least they're not callous enough to tear down the exteriors...

I need to figure out what songs to use for my first and last dances when I get married (sure, it's next year, but, well, some things need to be determined waaaaay in advance. Apparently). So anyways, after discovering that quite a few of the ballads I like are about breaking up or are rather just depressing, I've decided that these are the ones I'd like to have. The lyrics seem to convey how I feel, and the songs themselves don't reek of cheese (except for the one by Sheriff - I have an inexplicable fondness for that one), so I think that they'll work. So anyways, help me out here. Please?

Well, then I've got 3 words: Almost. Jack. Shit. They'll sell equipment in states like Minnesota and Maine, but they're not gonna make significant inroads without hockey doing likewise. Nothing came of Nike buying Bauer, and this will be the same. The money to be made here is in Canada and Europe...
-
I don't particularly like them myself, but that's not gonna stop me from buying them...

A bit farfetched I gotta agree. Obviously the casino's in on it, but I figure that the dealer's reactions are real...
-
So basically, Reebok produces the OFFICIAL jerseys/sweaters for the NFL, NBA and now the NHL. Very impressive. I'm not sure it'll matter. All three brands make hockey equipment, so there's already a built-in market for them...

Probably. There is a Spider-Man manga over in Japan, but the character has the same origin. This one is pretty much a re-imagining in the vein of the Mangaverse...

I hope for Naslund's sake the EA cover jinx isn't as bad as 2004's...

Joe Schmoe 2 Premiers Tuesday June 15th on Spike!

Funny thing is, I'm pretty sure he is Canadian. He did host his own show on a Canadian channel. Torrens is a Maritimer, but I can't remember what province. Not surprising, since Stone-Stanley also produced the Mole. And I wouldn't be surprised if the pneumatic blonde was a Juggy at some point either... -
Actually that's a good song... but my buddy used it at his wedding. All the songs I put in the poll have meaningful lyrics, and I think convey the message I want, so it's all good. Personally I lean towards "Never Tear Us Apart", partially because "Kick" is the first album I ever bought...

The only reason I think that Bryce will go (presumably in 2 weeks) is that he's "the stalker", and it would work better if he snuck back in and was following Piper around. Just my opinion there She's cute and got a nice figure. But she's a bit too curious for her own good (and the good of the show). -
I think Heffron knows how to turn it on when he needs to, and that's gonna be dangerous if he allows people to think that he juuuust edged out Bonnie. He's funny, and he's "playing the game", which for this show is a dangerous combination. Well the thing is that for the live audience, it's new to them, so you can get away with it, even if it does annoy the home viewer. Again, Dat Phan won the competition despite only having a minimal amount of material. For the showdowns, I think it's more about connecting with your audience than repeating material. Bonnie didn't do that - which frankly isn't surprising, since half her material is based on her being a bitch - and John did, and as a result John was overwhelmingly voted to stay on. Heh, Glass jaw...

Um, what about BOB? And I don't mean Layton...

Joe Schmoe 2 Premiers Tuesday June 15th on Spike!

Well, what can I tell ya? deepdiscountdvd.com, free shipping, use the code summersale before June 30 and get 20% off on all non-preorders. Trust me, you won't regret it. Ernie going was predictable. They were going for the "Average Joe" angle, so you knew he had to go. Elanor should probably be next for the women, and I think that Bryce will be next for the men (but he'll show up again later). Interesting dynamic with the Schmoes, where Ingrid is cluing in on things, and Tim is completely in the dark... -
Man, did Bonnie get killed or what? I do think that she coulda beaten Ant or Tammy, but John Heffron was ON, and I'm not sure that any of the others coulda beat him on that night... Just thought of something, but the showdown is somewhat similar to Murder in Small Town X, isn't it?
-
...which still doesn't explain how a one-joke comic like Dat Phan won last year...
-
Good point there. Dan Naturman woulda went crazy by now, I bet...

- Seeing as Impact is my introduction to TNA, I gotta say that Killings still sucks. But hey, he can spin, do the splits, and "be charismatic". Yippie. Doesn't make up for a shitty version of an axe kick. - On the positve side, the X Division is pretty good. I just wish that they'd actually USE the full 10 minutes instead of rushing everything into 5, especially for 6 man matches. - Abyss I don't really care for, but at least he's being booked properly. - I like AJ Styles, but as the match with Aguila showed, when not done properly, the sunset flip-to-Styles Clash looks VERY contrived. The 'rana counter-to-Styles Clash looked great though.
