    What's more addictive?

I've wasted so many hours playing Tetris it's not funny. Head-to-head on the GameBoy was my favourite version...

    Widescreen/Fullscreen

It's not a pseudo-widescreen - ER *IS* shot in widescreen, as is Enterprise. Oddly enough, the "widescreen" presentations of Justice League *ARE* pseudo-widescreen, with the top and bottom parts lopped off.

    autograph by editor?

Nothing is stupid if you like it. I've seen someone get a $100 bill autographed by Dave Sim, which to me is (literally) a waste of money, but whatever floats your boat, y'know?

    Widescreen/Fullscreen

What this means, then, is that you'll have to get a bigger TV. It doesn't have to be that big either - 19-20" televisions aren't very expensive and it's not bad at all for widescreen...

    Widescreen/Fullscreen

The worst part of it is that if there is an option Blockbuster will ONLY stock comedies in fullscreen. Which is why I take my business to Hollywood Video if I want to rent something...

    Star Wars DVD's

There's lots of stuff in the Expanded Universe they could've made a movie out of. The Thrawn Trilogy, Tales of the Jedi, X-Wing, etc. Too bad it'll never happen... What if we threw in Jar Jar AND Ewoks? Could Lucas POSSIBLY say no to that double team? -=Mike Now THAT is positively frightening...

    Wedding Songs

The only problem with this is that Chinese people aren't exactly known for having much BUTT... Trust me, that won't stop the DJ from throwing it in the player I don't doubt that. The problem is wiggling your ass if you've got none to speak of. Unintentional comedy... or just plain sad? I'll find out the answer in about 1 year and 3 weeks...

    MARVEL IS DEBT FREE

Anyone else find it ironic that Marvel seems to be heading back to the early 90's with a plethora of X-Titles and the return of Liefeld? I swear that if die-cut embossed chromium holofoil covers make a comeback I'm quitting comics for good...

    Wedding Songs

She doesn't really pay attention to music, so it's pretty much up to me to choose the key songs. Although that may change when I tell her I'm working the theme song for Star Trek: Deep Space Nine in there somewhere... The only problem with this is that Chinese people aren't exactly known for having much BUTT...

This oughta teach the prick a lesson...

Ah... But here's the torture... Having him keep his games means he can just feel depressive that the only way he can play them is a PS2. After a few months, you (being a true gamer) start to get really depressed and aggrivated about it. You have these great little games here, but there is NOTHING TO PLAY THEM. I can't call myself a true gamer, but I was going through withdrawals when my PS2 was getting repaired. And I don't care if this is true or not - it's a fucking brilliant idea...

    Wedding Songs

Yeah, it's definitely a good standby. Here's my question - what exactly is Plant trying to say with the lyrics? I've heard the story where he pretty much just threw the words together, but don't know if it's true...

    Last Comic Standing 2!

Reality News Online has an interview with an audience member from the Paris finals. Interesting notes are that she was surprised that the Dans didn't make it and that Monty Hoffman's set was dead and his standing O was from his Q&A.

    Last Comic Standing 2!

Well, they're "talent scouts", not "judges". They apparently used that designation last year as well. So "technically" (i.e. if we go by the official explanation) they'd recommend who goes to the house, but wouldn't be making the final decision. I should probably note that I'm not disagreeing with the opinions of general hokiness of the selections, but I am trying to see both sides. And I still don't think that Naturman was deserving of going through...

    Bonds just won't shut up

And you wonder why people don't like him...
  20. Ralph is good as long as they don't try to pass him off as a Yoshii Kwan-alike... Hell, I'd like to see Stone Stanley put HIM in as the host of The (non-"celebrity") Mole. Think about it - those guys are already supposed to be paranoid, so what happens when they think the whole show MIGHT be fake, but it's actually real?

    Last Comic Standing 2!

The only thing I can think of is this - casting is like a job interview. You may be the best qualified candidate, you may present yourself the best at the interview, but the employers "see" something in another person, so they go with "best fit", instead of "best person available". So in a way, that would truly be reality. Now, I'm going over a lot of the performances in my head, and the truth of the matter is that - for me - Dan Naturman's was not all that memorable. It killed at the time, but it was one of things where I look back and I couldn't even remember what he looked like, nevermind his jokes. I'm thinking that was probably caused Tess and Anthony Clark to not put his name down to go to the house. Dan Adhoot had a great set, but he wasn't going to make it because at the beginning of his set, he admitted that he was repeating a joke. Going back to the job interview analogy, there's things that you're just not supposed to say in an interview, and no matter what you say afterwords, you're not gonna get the job. Repeating jokes is okay in comedy, but ADMITTING that you do is a no-no. Monty, I think, was a victim of numbers. To be honest, I thought the first batch of ten were stronger, and that all but three (the MILF, the yoga guy, and the screaming girl) had a chance to make it. So there was bound to be someone who was getting the shaft. Figured it'd be Kathleen Madigan though...
  22. I think that's a Stone Stanley signature phrase, because they used that (and variations of it) ad nauseum during Celebrity Mole...

    The Essentials...

I can't argue with you on The Lion King songs. The ones written specifically for the movie/musical work much better than those that Sir Elton sang himself. I think that I'm a bit biased against "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds", but that's William Shatner's fault for "singing" a cover of it, y'know?
  24. I think that at some point every director in Hollywood has been attached to Superman. Which brings me to the horrifying thought that Warner would be dumb enough to get Brannon Braga to write the script if they did drop Abrams' script...

    Worst major league sports city?

My rule of thumb is this: it's OK to root for (even LIKE) the local teams UNLESS YOUR team comes into town to play. Thus, when I was in Detroit (actually, Windsor), I cheered for the Red Wings, but still followed the Leafs (since they were on TSN and CBC). I should note that the Pistons, Lions and Tigers all sucked at the time (this was when JYD was on the team), so it was a bit painful to try and get into their games. Now that I'm in Houston, I DO follow the Texans and Rockets as much as possible. Same principle applies for the Rockets though - if the Raptors are in town, you bet I'm wearing my Raptors hockey jersey and hoping that Vince doesn't injure himself walking or something.
