Anyone live in Toronto or been to a Jays game?

Agreed. But if you are willing to drive a little ways, Frankie Tomatoe's in the north end is even better. It is up on Woodbine Ave near Markham. Best restaurant I've ever been to. The OSF is on Front Street near the O'Keefe Centre (or whatever it is called now, Hummingbird Centre I think). Never eat at the Dome itself. The vendors outside will have food that is much better and at a third the cost. I've gone to Frankies and eaten just mussels and pasta before. Good stuff - one of the better buffets in Toronto. Speaking of which, near OSF there's a restaurant called Hothouse Cafe which has a Sunday jazz brunch buffet, which is a bit on the pricey side, but the food is pretty good and there's a live band. Worth looking into, I think. Gotta agree about not eating at the Dome. By all means, buy your (standard overpriced ballpark) beer inside, but if you need a dog, you can't beat a grilled sausage from the street vendors outside the park. Oh, and a couple of important drink details for anyone coming up to Canada from the States - the iced tea is presweetened unless the waiter tells you otherwise, and don't assume that the refills are free...

Cool. I'm looking forward to hearing about it...

    RW/RR Inferno Finale

I'll be honest - the show drags way too much for my liking. If they simply stuck to the challenges instead of all the drama, I'd have liked it more.

If you could take two athletes to combine...

As far as hockey goes, Gordie Howe and Wayne Gretzky. That'd be one tough goal scoring MF'er...

    Jeff Foxworthy......

That's kinda funny, because that's about the only thing of his that stands out for me. Aside from that though, I just can't get into him. No denying that he's popular though.

Who do you think would win in a fight?

You know, it'd be great if they put out a 4-part prestige format limited series where the Avengers and JLA fought each other, wouldn't it?
  8. Impressive. I think it'll hang on to #1 over the long weekend, after which the SweatHogwarters will make Shrek their bitch...

Anyone live in Toronto or been to a Jays game?

OK, Toronto has a Citypass for about $46CDN ($35USD), and that will get you into the CN Tower, Art Gallery of Ontario, Royal Ontario Museum, Casa Loma, the Ontario Science Centre and the Toronto Zoo. Check it out and see if that suits you. And check out the Hockey Hall of Fame and the University of Toronto while you're at it. A TTC Day Pass runs around $9CDN and lets you use the subway and buses all day (or 2 adults and 4 children on Sunday). Restaurants. Around SkyDome there's lots of restaurants because it's so close to the theater district. Peel Pub is great for cheap eats and beer. Personally I like Filet of Sole and The Strip House - good food, and they generally have a $20-25 fixed price meal. At Yonge and Bloor (near the ROM), there's a restaurant called Spring Rolls that's pretty decent Asian fusion-ish food. It's south of The Brass Rail, which you can't miss seeing if you tried. That is, you don't have to go, but you'll definitely know where it is... Finally, check out Tourism Toronto, as they've got summer getaway packages...

The 2004 Stanley Cup Playoffs thread

I think they're eliminating the ESPN 2 shows for the NHL and NBA because they tend to duplicate the postgame shows, Save some money and all that. The scary thing about those clips is how consistent Melrose's greasy mullet has been...

Ice-T to produce Hasselhoff rap album

Well, Hasselhoff's more "actor" than "musician", so I think it's OK...

If you could go on any reality show.....

yikes, that stinks...the whole thing that makes Big Brother great is all the backstabbing I actually thought it was seeing how much more mechanical they make the Chen-bot...

Who do you think would win in a fight?

No argument there. X-Men would have better teamwork, but ultimately they just wouldn't match up well against the "big seven".

Chyna has a deeper voice than Justin Timberlake. Well, Chyna's got a deeper voice than most men, so that's not a shock...

If you could go on any reality show.....

The "celebrity" version was only good at showing that supermodels aren't dumb - or that "celebs" aren't as smart as you'd think. I'm not sure which. Anyways, The Mole would indeed be #2 on my list, but I simply love The Amazing Race more...

Ice-T to produce Hasselhoff rap album

Apparently, being on L&O: SVU has made Ice-T crazy. What's next, he's producing Chyna's album?

  19. Wait, was The Score before or after Analyze This? I thought that was pretty good. Has he been in anything since the 80's? Might as well throw Curtis Armstrong in there as well while you're at it. You mean Eric's not "king of direct-to-video" anymore?

If you could go on any reality show.....

Speaking of which, Alison from the last Big Brother is gonna be on The Amazing Race. We have a contender to usurp (Shut up,) Flo as "most hated Racer ever"...

If you could go on any reality show.....

Gotta agree with The Amazing Race. The downside of it is that it's like backpacking on crack, BUT if you go a few legs you're almost sure to see places that you haven't been before, and presumably you'll being doing it with a buddy or loved one. Seriously, if they allowed Canadians on that show I'd be applying every time out...

    OAO Troy Thread

Well, got to see it today, and it was pretty good for what it was - a retelling of the Iliad without the presence of those pesky gods. Yeah, that took away from the plot points involving Paris and Helen, but really didn't affect anything else. Peter O'Toole ruled it, but man he looked really old and frail. Good jobs all around. Other thoughts: - Nathan Jones as the guy who gets killed in about 5 seconds was hilarious. - Good choice for whoever played Patroclus, but is it me, but did he look like a cross between Brad Pitt and Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie Tanner from Full House)? - They could've made Paris hitting Achilles' heel be more of a fluke thing. They made him to be a bit too sympathetic in the end, I thought. - Impressively, if they wanted to retell The Odyssey AND the Aneid, they've set it up pretty well.

    American Idol 3

I can tell you that in my workplace, people don't like her because of her voice and/or her sassiness. Noone denies that she can sing - if you couldn't sing, you wouldn't make it to the final 32. But she's got that personality where you like it or you don't. However, she's in the final 2, so obviously more people think like you than me. Or maybe they hate Barbie more. Doesn't matter at this point - she's in, and the others ain't. The one thing that gives Barbie an edge is her improvement. Hey, when you do poorly, the judges criticize, and you can adjust. It also adds a healthy dose of fear in you, and makes you try just a wee bit harder. Fantasia really hasn't had a poor performance, and that might lead to a bit of overconfidence. That Idiot Paula saying "you don't need to win this" could cost Fantasia the lucrative contract (I'm sure the 2nd place contract will be pretty good, but winning probably gives you a better deal, and better perks) if she doesn't treat next Tuesday seriously.
