The One And Only 24 Season 3 Thread
starvenger replied to Spicy McHaggis's topic in Television & Film
Just remember - you've got VCRs and TiVos to help ease the pain... And if this article on zap2it.com is correct, then there will be 3 occasions that you'll miss RAW entirely... -
That's pretty much it. Obviously, they look different, but vocally, you could always tell which one was Fantasia - she's the one with the love-it-or-hate-it tone. And I'm only speculating on that. Maybe there's something else, but they were all bottom 3 when Jennifer got the boot, and again were the bottom 2 when LaToya went. And Fantasia's still standing. So there must have been something about her that kept her in the competition...
-
Well, that's what's gonna happen in this kinda competition. Jennifer, LaToya and Fantasia were similar enough that vote-splitting was inevitable. Fantasia being a bit more "unique" than the other two probably helped carry her all the way to the finals, and I'm sure that Simon is happy about that.

Basically it comes down to this: The Hulk is a lot faster than you think, and one hit from the Hulk is gonna hurt Flash more than several million shots from the Flash. Flash has peak human strength, and that ain't enough to hurt the Hulk. One hit from the Hulk and it's over. Sure, it'll probably be a lucky shot, but the force of impact from Hulk's punch and Flash's speed will pretty much end it.

Yep. No real surprise, there. I wouldn't be surprised if someone signed her to a developmental deal though - she's definitely got potential, but Idol showed that she's not quite ready yet. Now, for the final 2, you got to ask yourself some questions: - who would put out the better album? - who's the better singer? and most importantly, - who do you dislike the LEAST? For me, the answer to all three is Fantasia, so she gets my vote. Fantasia is probably more versatile, she knows that she doesn't ALWAYS HAVE TO SHOUT, and her smiles look, you know, genuine.

The One And Only 24 Season 3 Thread

Well, it looks like 24 will be back in January 2005, but allegedly without any 5 week breaks, and at a new time - either 8 or 9pm Mondays... -
edited for accuracy Heh. Although to be fair they show a lot of Avs and Stars games as well.

I'm going to Wizard World East in Philly next week

Typically, a head and shoulder shot or a quick sketch will cost you nothing. If you don't have a sketchbook bring lots of backing boards. A fuller, more detailed (and possibly inked) sketch can go from $10 to $100. This is generally because it takes time to do, and in some cases (like Adam Hughes, who charges the c-note) people allegedly will turn around and sell the sketch on eBay or something like that. Personally, I've never paid for a sketch, and I've been pretty happy with the free ones. However, DO be prepared to shell out money for autographs of the Mass Media celebs... -
...and The Amazing Race 6 will be on Saturdays. Not the best slot, but aside from The (non-celebrity) Mole, one of the best ongoing Reality series on TV.

A few things: - Money. Bring lots of money. - If you have one of those (smaller) camping backpacks then I suggest you use it. Otherwise, use a rolling carryon bag. Yes, you'll look stupid, but your arms and back will thank you later. - Use antiperspirant and a body spray/cologne. Other convention goers will thank you. - If you're there for more than one day, get autographs and such on Friday and Sunday if you can - the crowds aren't gonna be as large. - If there's an artist that you REALLY want a sketch from, I'd suggest you get your name down on their list as early as possible. I'm assuming you know the costs and such. - Saturday, go to the seminars, browse the tables, take it all in. Unless you're planning on seeing Eliza Dushku, in which case find out when and where she's signing, and check back every 15 minutes or so. - If you're only there for one day, you'd better make a list of who/what you want to see and what you want to buy. - Actually, I'd do that regardless. Gotta prioritize. Remember, there will almost never be a lineup to see Virgil (go figure), but Eliza Dushku and Alfred Molina will probably be a bit of a wait. - Enjoy yourself!! -
Sweet. Clancy does a great Luthor as well...
-
This week he was pretty dead on, yes. Actually I think he showed more restraint than usual - he was being critical without being mean. I have voted before, but I haven't since the whole Jennifer Hudson thing went down with the judges and Ryan being all holier-than-thou and such.

Diana is a perfect example of what Zack Werner was saying during World Idol - she "shouts the music". Fantasia, to her credit, shows more versatility, and a knowledge of when to turn it down. I still don't like her singing voice though.

If this means less Barry Melrose, it can't be a bad thing...

Chez Paris night in Montreal. Well, it's not as if anything else has helped raise attendance, so why not strippers?
-
I'd say that it's a safe bet...

New York is the token candidate from North America. And the IOC is loathe to give North America 2 consecutive Olympics, you can draw your own conclusions.

Oh... DAMN. -
The Toronto Blue Jays. After the strike, the team was never the same, and with Boston and the Yankees in the same division, it's difficult to gain the wild card, let alone a division title...
-
At this point it's hard to see Fantasia not winning, much as I didn't want to say that since... well the final 32. With LaToya getting McKibbined there simply isn't any stiff competition.

Hey, it was good of Ryan Malcolm to show up and have the audience go "...who?" (edit) Why is Clive Davis choosing Celine and Whitney songs? Fantasia was better than Jasmine doing a Whitney song, but it still wasn't great - she was not "as good or better" than Whitney. Still, Fantasia has been the best singer of the night, no doubt from me, unless Barbie knocks one out of the park... (edit) ...and props for holding the glory note, but I wasn't blown away. Either Barbie or Jasmine could go...

OK, first I have to say this: Diana, copying Spawn's Season 3 haircut does NOT make you look better. Spawn ends up looking hot IN SPITE of the hair. You just look about the same... Now, Diana had about as good a performance as Jasmine this first song, but Jasmine gets negative comments all around. Can you tell who the judges want out? Fantasia, didn't do a great job with "Chain of Fools" (Frenchie and Kim did it tons better) BUT she was smart and didn't do it Aretha style, instead making it a bit more jazzy and smooth. (edit) Second song - judges choices have pretty much left me going "eh". This song is pretty much designed to see who sucks the least given the song they've been assigned... ...and BLEAH. Diana got a softball with Celine Dion and she fouled out. Horrid...

More on MadroX from Newsarama...
-
I think they already did. I'd guess that she actually wants to carry an action movie, which will never happen in an X-Men movie. Not that I think that she SHOULD, mind you, but that's probably what she's thinking.

I wouldn't hold my breath, but Vancouver holding the 2010 Winter Olympics pretty much guarantee that there won't be one until 2016 at the earliest...
