True story. Why you're surprised that a WB show gets cancelled is beyond me... -
It's the world's largest tampon...

Wouldn't this be more or less the genre that Firefly resides in? Or is this more Wild, Wild West with aliens instead of a robotic spider?

That's one of the biggest complaints from people...but the "rules" of the competition, says America gets to vote the best singer, and they get a deal..whatever. Fact is...when they don't vote for the best singer...then someone does have the right to say "wrong". The fact is this: the judges have the right to say "we disagree with the decision" but they do not have the right to tell America that they voted wrong, especially when you tell America to vote for whomever you want. Which pretty much emphasizes the point that everyone knows - Jasmine is simply not mature enough to be able to handle something like American Idol. But by hammering that point home last night (and making it clear that they wanted Jasmine gone), they managed to create a sympathetic character whom people want to vote for because she seems so vulnerable. Anyways, La Toya's a good person, and I see her more of an Anita Baker-ish singer, because she's a strong singer, but just doesn't have enough of that "diva" mentality to be a Whitney clone. (edit) So at this point I'd probably root for Jasmine, because I can't stand the other two, and at the very least they can mold her into your standard teen pop star, an anti-Avril, if you will...

I do agree with you, Jasmine SHOULD be going, but that's not how it ended up, and it's not the judges place to lecture America that they're "wrong"...
-
Hey judges, GET OFF YOUR HIGH HORSES AND SHUT THE FUCK UP!!

Honestly, I think it's just a psychological ploy by Hitchcock...
-
I predict that a lot of people are saying the exact same thing... On a slightly more serious note, Blondie's "dancing" looked like she was throwing hip checks...
-
They probably won't, because the name actually honours Native Americans. It's not as if it's a derogatory term like a certain NFL team uses...

Can't argue with Tiffani's run on 90210. Those were golden years on the Darren Star shows, as I think they started the psycho Kimberley storyline on Melrose Place around then as well... -
I must admit, the second song was pretty good. But c'mon, Barbra Streisand sang half of the original, so William Hung singing it would've been an improvement. OK, well, maybe not. The first song, I've heard better in a BritPop cover. I gotta reflect back on her "dancing" though. Did anyone see the episode of SBTB: The New Class where Eric Little became a rapper, and did this odd side-to-side shuffle during his "good Eric" rap? That's what Barbie was doing (in between the pageant strut), and it was annoying me to no end...

I can't decide - is Chloe more annoying or is Sherry more of a bitch? -
Can't argue there. I'd rather Barbie or Fantasia goes though...
-
Barbie loves those glory notes, doesn't she? And what's with her "dancing"?
-
Isn't this a Bonnie Tyler song?
-
I've heard good reviews for District X (chud.com, I think), so it's that and Weapon X for me...
-
Barbie's all plastic and pegeantry - I hate her more than Fantasia...

Well, at least they didn't rename themselves the Orange Goblins. Anyways, Orange is different, and manages to avoid the plural. Can't really complain... (edit) I also just realized that this could bring in a natural partnership with ING Direct...

Well, Jasmine has showed us why Asians shouldn't crimp their hair (I'm Asian, btw, in case anyone didn't realize that). Ye gods, what was she thinking?

That was also Colby's $900,000 mistake. Had he taken Keith with him, he'd have had the million. But he disliked Keith and let emotion fuel his decision. Looking back, I think that Kim (in Africa) did the same thing, but she thought that she didn't have a chance of winning, so her taking Ethan was more along the lines of Lil taking Sandra - she wanted Ethan to win more than Tom.
-
No, I'd agree with you there - Colby is a much better overall player who made a $900,000 mistake in Australia, but in ASS Rob was going all out during challenges and would probably have matched Colby in the challenges. As I pointed out before, I'd have liked to have seen that, but Lex made sure that that didn't happen. Like I've said before, I don't like the way Rob played the game, but unlike many of the other ASSes, he actually PLAYED the game. He's not the best player ever, or the most ethical, but he's the most deserving because noone else was. OK, I'm done with this.
-
Actually, Rob proved his worth during the tribal immunities, and I really don't think that Colby would have an easy time of it as you think he would.
-
But you said it yourself - all of his opponents weren't playing smart. Those that would have (Hatch, Rob C, maybe Colby) were dispatched before the final merge. Would I liked to have seen that? Hell yeah, but it wasn't meant to be. Too bad - Hatch rules all. Anyways, his opponents weren't smart, and Rob took full advantage of it. Is what he did really all that different from what Brian Hedik did to win in Thailand? No, not really. I know you didn't see that season (which sucked once they got to the final 9), but if you did you might see things a bit differently. Basically, it comes down to this: did anyone else besides Rob on the merged tribe do anything to make the case that they should win? Aside from maybe Shii Ann, no. Noone else stepped up to make me say "they deserve to win this season", so I gotta say that Rob deserved it more than anyone else. I don't condone how he did it, but he really tried to outwit, outplay and outlast the others, and I have to respect that.
