If David Stern ran the NHL, the Rangers would be in the finals, instead of missing the playoffs...

SNL Review- featuring a report of my trip to SNL

Snoop is awesome. He's like Christopher Walken in that anything he does is funny. His stint on Jimmy Kimmel made people think Jimmy Kimmel...was good. Snoop's got potential to be more than just a comedic actor. He did a pretty decent job in a serious role in Playmakers... -
Does anyone remember Bo Jackson one time going "fuck this" and getting either a hit or a sacrifice off of an attempted IW? My point is that if Bonds really gave a shit about the IW, maybe he'd do something like that just to let the pitchers know that he doesn't like it. But I suppose that he actually realizes that a runner on base gives his team a chance to score - that or he only cares about hitting HRs...

I'm picking Tampa in 6, Calgary in 7, and Gary Bettman's head exploding. It's possible that I'm overrating an underrated team in Calgary, but I think they want it more than the Sharks right now. No complaints if San Jose makes it, though...

Here's the problem - you're expecting Entertainment Weekly to be consistent... -
Dammit. Well, better find that Flames avatar...

Dont I know it. God there such magnificent bastards! But hey what can I say. I love em. I just hope overtime will love them just as much tonight So do I, so do I...

And as if to prove my point, it's overtime. Win or go home for the Buds...

Dont you go looking for that Flames Avatar yet my friend, the Leafs have just tied it up. That glimmer of hope just grew a bit. Go Leafs Go! Yeah. Leafs are fucking brilliant at giving their fanbase a collective heart attack...

I'm guessing, "I was fucking brilliant as Iago in Othello, how much different would Lord Marshal be?"

I may have to face reality in about 10 minutes. Anybody know where I can get a Flames avatar?

Didn't see most of the performances, but the highlight reel of Barbie again showed that plastic smile. What's George's number?

Well, considering how the trailers made the movie an action film, I could see how people might be disappointed. If you go into Hulk knowing that it's not an action film, but a character study with action elements to it, then it works a lot better.

Austen has stretched himself too thin, and with a writer like him, it really, REALLY shows. I thought that the Avengers arc and Exiles were pretty good, but his work on Uncanny really dropped off. With him doing just Superman and X-Men, he could get better, but that's still 30 issues a year - quite a workload for anyone, I'd think. And that's another thing - with Uncanny and adjectiveless (again) being 18 issues a year, you DO see a drop in quality. Even back in the Claremont/Silvestri days, you could see a difference between the biweekly issues and the monthlies. I realize that Marvel wants to milk their marquee properties for all they can, but I think it's at that point where it could end up more harmful to them than beneficial.

Hah!! Anyways, I doubt that any athlete in high level competition could be considered one-dimensional. No matter how much we want to label a DH as such...

Well, it's nice to see that at least one other person thinks like I do. Or, maybe that's not a good thing, I dunno...

If he retires, and the CBC dumps Don Cherry, HNiC should pick up Hull - he'll probably be just as controversial, but without the slanderous comments about Euopeans...

Personally, I think that Winick/Austen (Exiles), Weir and DeFillipis (New Mutants) and Tieri (Weapon X) have all been writing better stories than Morrison, but when you're talking about the core books, then I'd have to agree. I'd actually go so far as to say that of the four core books, New X-Men: Academy X will probably be the best of the bunch. I'm sure that Josh (hey, that's what the Wizard idiots called him) Whedon will do a good job, but Weir and DeFillipis have been doing a pretty good job despite some horrendous artwork. And, they've already had 13 issues to help set things up for the new book...

Agreed. If all he did was run fast, he'd have no business being in football.

I'm sure that will happen, especially since Berman's gonna be doing SC again...

Which begs the question - why wasn't that kid in the Gatorade commercial in this poll? j/k Anyways if all Armstrong did was beat cancer and return to compete at a high level in cycling he's more of an "ultimate athlete" than Vick in my mind. But since he's won 5 Tour de France's, it's a slam dunk.

Yeah, it's not exactly on time, but Television Without Pity has their review or last week's shows on the site, and it's worth a read, especially the "portrayal" of John Stevens. Funny stuff, I thought, although I'm not sure where the hate for Jasmine comes from...

I still wish that Stevie Y had retired after the Wings won the Cup. It woulda been more fitting for him to go out on top...

Hey, if Goliath doesn't involve a slightly creepy talking stop-motion dog, I ain't watching it...

I thought of putting this in the comics section, but figured people might read it if I posted it here... credit:Comic Book Resources
