SNL Review- featuring a report of my trip to SNL

Great, now I have flashbacks of Keith saying he'd do the same to Potatoface on 24. <shudders> There was one GREAT joke in WU - the Jayson Williams joke. The veiled reference to OJ was priceless. Usher. That stare. Priceless. As for the Lohan or Duff debate, I'm not partial to blondes, so I'd take Lohan. In 63 days, of course (which should just about cover the amount of time I'd need to explain this to my fiancee). Duff does have a nice ass, though. Personally, I think that it's one of those feuds that should be settled by a best of 3 bikini oil wrestling match. But that's just me.

Sports Feats You'd Like to See...

Ahem... Wayne Gretzkey completed this feat in 1997, when he got 215. So to make it worth wild, Sydney Crosby would have to get 216 for me to notice. However, if he made 200, I'd be impressed. Although, I would like to see an NHL player get 300. Impossible, but to have one player dominate like that would be exciting to see. You mean 1987. 216 would be great, but hell, even get 150 points in one season...it still impressive I think that most of Gretzky's records are untouchable, especially given todays NHL. That kind of talent on one team just doesn't exist anymore. Tomlinson needs to be on a better team to accomplish that. I could see 300 combined though...

The Wachowski siblings. Just doesn't sound the same...

    Acclaim sued by...the Olsen Twins?

So again you're saying that game developers should stop trying to target new players, and focus solely on their core demographic. The point is that Acclaim is still a business, and still looking at different ways to make money. I don't think that they're doing a good job of it, but the intent is there. This is something I didn't think about, but it's a good point. You see a market worth exploiting, but why limit a game to simply that market? Try to make something that forces game reviewers to say "you know what? This is actually a good game".

    When will people learn

I thought it was newsworthy, but no big deal. Sorry about that.

The 2004 Stanley Cup Playoffs thread

To beat Tampa, Philly or Toronto will have to do what they're doing now - force the opponent against the boards and pound the crap out of them. Obviously, Tampa's got more speed than either team, so that probably means - unfortunately - a Trap variation to slow them down.

Well, that might explain why he's so reclusive...

Injury descriptions during the playoffs are always a joke. An "upper body" injury can mean a broken ankle...

Christ, I hope not. How the hell would that have occured?! He faced what, one shot all period?! He probably pulled a Nash and tore it walking to the dressing room... Another mysterious penalty to Philly. Like I said (jokingly) before, Esche faced so little action in the first he probably tightened up again. I'll wait for the official statement on his status...

Yeah, I'm kinda not seeing a Vancouver-Calgary repeat, although stranger things have happened, I suppose.

Marchment's still in the box though, so no thuggery yet, I'd imagine. So, when's that epic Burke vs Kidd goalie battle gonna take place?

The 2004 Stanley Cup Playoffs thread

Well, Primeau scored again, so I suppose that doesn't matter. But as for Burke, I suppose the Leafs strategy of "don't shoot on him for most of the period and hope that he pulls something when we do" worked on Esche...

Emphasis on giveaways. If he gets the puck, Leetch should skate over, say "I'll take it from here, junior", and bring it up. And Philly, of course, should give the Leafs the courtesy of doing just that.

Great shades of Todd Gill, this has been a bad period for McCabe. Not taking anything away from Roenick and especially Primeau, because the goals were nice, but those were a couple of ugly giveaways.
