    What replaces Friends and Frasier

I think Thursday will be Joey-Scrubs-The Apprentice-ER, with Will & Grace moving to Tuesdays. Or they move Scrubs to Tuesday as well and put some jobber sitcom on at 8:30.

    American Idol 3

I'd actually heard that he said "effing", as opposed to fucking, but people are hyper-sensitive these days, so they redid it. Good thing it wasn't live, but I think that if it was, QT doesn't swear. On a tangential note, I just saw the "shit" episode of South Park, and it's probably more relevant post-Nipplegate than it was originally. If I had to choose, Diana would lose. I only saw the recap (Leafs-Sens game 7, plus I was taping 24) and she seemed more... plastic, Barbie-ish than normal...

    New Fox shows this June..

It does, but it's a Mark Burnett show, similar to "The Restaurant", so it's a docudrama. At least, I think it is. I can't exactly see the thrill of having a reality game show set in a casino, since you've got a chance (albeit slim) at big bucks EVERYWHERE.

The One And Only 24 Season 3 Thread

Yeah. Kim + CTU's track record of undercover agents not named Jack Bauer + a few hours to kill = a good chance of something bad happening. And I guess that Jack is gonna tell Saunders to FOAD, more or less, now that he has the great equalizer in Saunders' daughter. Eh, he could have been. I mean, you'd figure that Saunders might have more than one operative there, right? At worst, they should make a note of the guy, who seemed a bit too interested in a kid for a guy seemingly in his 40s...

The 2004 Stanley Cup Playoffs thread

Primeau, I don't worry about - he's never really been a playoff presence. Mind you, my time in Detroit MAY have biased me against him. Recchi... yeah, he's a gamer. Like I said, the Leafs would be in tough (and as I type this, Tucker draws ANOTHER bad penalty. At least this time he played on - this one is all on the refs). They're a grinding team who don't Trap (if they do, they're doing a damn poor job of it), BUT they always manage to get teams to play their game. Not that Hitchcock or Clarke will mind that...

The 2004 Stanley Cup Playoffs thread

The ESPN guys thought the penalty would be for an Alfredsson slash (which, of course, we never got to see so that they could prove their case). But I agree - bad call any way you slice it. The Flyers have a huge advantage in that they're resting at home. Whoever they play will be in tough. The Sens have used their speed to their advantage against Philly, while the Leafs would have to find some to compete. I do think though, that Esche and Burke can be beaten, and whoever plays them is gonna have to attack them.

    Canada 'sells US high-grade pot'

That's because your gov't forces our pharmaceutical companies to sell their drugs at a loss up there. We have to make up the difference down here. -=Mike You know, Canada does have it's own pharmaceutical companies that do pretty well. At least I hope they do, because otherwise Eugene Melnyck has no business owning the Senators...

    Favorite TV Show openings

    - Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Easily the best of the Trek themes. - Friends. Yeah, I'm a mark. But I like the constant insertion of new clips. - Voltron. C'mon, you know you like it. Optimus Prime as voiceover guy clinches it for me. - Robotech. Because. - Karen Sisco. Fits right in with Elmore Leonard's characters. - Keen Eddie. Not sure of the name of the song, but I like it. - You Can't Do That On Television. A classic. I kinda like Dino Thunder's better. Matter of taste, I suppose.

Yeah, I feel bad for Williams, but as for Clarett, I have one (sorta) word: BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Kevin Smith to direct Green Hornet...

Bruce Lee was Kato in the TV version of the Green Hornet. Can't remember exactly, but Green Hornet was similar to Batman, but without the angst, and with a manservant/butler who could kick serious ass. I think it only lasted one season. A logical Kato would be Jet Li, who already did an homage of sorts in Black Mask. But they could go all Codename: C.O.U.R.A.G.E. and have Kato be a sexy female.

    Ty Law arrested

As Stephen Wright might ask, what's a gruntled person? Possibly, but there are so many stupid athletes that you can only say that he's the dumbest athlete so far this year...

How does TV work in the states then?

Was it wrong of me to immediately think of Willy Wonka's theory of how television works?

The 2004 Stanley Cup Playoffs thread

Oh, they're loving it. But they're probably hating the OT, since they're probably losing ad revenue there. One thing I hope for is that neither Mick McGough (doesn't call anything) nor Kerry Fraser (well, you know) refs Game 7.

The One And Only 24 Season 3 Thread

Yeah. And I don't think that it's gonna be a good year for Father Jughead either. That was a real intense last few minutes. And I suppose that this means Michelle will live, but the real question is: what happens to Gay Matt?

The 2004 Stanley Cup Playoffs thread

Tough, gritty win for the Sens. Obviously, not the end result I wanted to see, but they really stepped it up from the 3rd period on. Game Seven, baby. Guess I won't be watching American Idol or 24 on Tuesday...

    Canada 'sells US high-grade pot'

Not exactly correct. As a constitutional monarchy, the Queen is considered the Head of State, but she has no real power. Her proxies, the Governor-General and Lieutenant-Governors, are appointed by the Canadian government. So, no real fingers in the pot. The fact that you even have and recognize proxies for the government that once subjugated you says everything Yeah, it says that we like maintaining food relations with other countries. In all seriousness, having the Queen as Head of State is a topic of debate that comes up every so often, but to be honest, it's not a huge deal. It's not like we're tithing to England or anything.

Somehow, it's not boring anymore. And all it took was a bad-angle goal from Chara to kick it up a few notches...

Cancer sucks. I hope Burns pulls through this - after all he's still got 3 other Original Six teams left to coach.
