FSN has some "late night poker" show but to be honest it's a lot more boring than the ESPN and Travel Channel shows.

Law & Order: Boobs, Butts and Wardrobe Malfunctions

The show ran hot and cold. Pinky and the Brain was brilliant, the Warners were generally pretty good, but Goodfeathers was only "eh", and stuff like Slappy and the dog and baby were just bad.

Ivey seems like a cool customer. But from what I've seen so far, he's more a Phil Mickelson than Tiger Woods when it comes to the "big" poker tournaments. Howard Lederer is another guy I like. Not the most interesting player, but he's a very deliberate one. Probably one of the better players to study when it comes to learning the game. I'm still impressed with Chris Moneymaker. Sure, there was some luck involved in his winning the World Series of Poker, but he played great and has good instincts. And that was in his first "live" tournament...

Just curious, but you didn't think Spirited Away was as good as these two? Anyways, for the non-pure anime stuff: - Transformers G1 and Beast Wars - Robotech - Batman TAS and spinoffs - The Simpsons - The Flintstones - Spider-Man (90's) - Looney Tunes - Pinky and the Brain - Gundam 0083

If you get CityTV, they apparently carry the WPT on Sundays. I'm using PacificPoker.com. Same deal as PartyPoker.com. It's a little more fun than Yahoo, I think.

Standards/Jazz - John Stevens Hip Hop - Camille Rock/Country - Matt A/C - Jon Peter Lewis. Actually, he's kinda like Kurt from Idool/World Idol, isn't he? AI Style - Diana, George, Latoya, Jennifer, Jasmine, Amy, Fantasia By AI Style I mean that they'll choose songs that show off their range and power (i.e. ballads) because they have the voices to do it. Think of it as a singing version of WWE-style. I think that AI is pretty much tailor made for these singers, so for someone like Fantasia to have that power AND have a little something different, it makes her stand out and be an early favourite to win. Guys like Dean and JPL are the dark horses because their uniqueness helps differentiate them from the others, but their singing styles isn't really "AI Style", so I doubt that they'll make final 3. Voice strength isn't everything, but American Idol isn't the place to demonstrate it.

I gotta say that South Park was fucking brilliant. Butters with the shuriken in the eye made me laugh harder than I have in a while.
-
Evelyn Ng is fucking hot. Shauna Hiatt isn't exactly chopped liver either. Regarding the players, Gus is a damn good player, but there's something about him that annoys me. Now, has Chris "Jesus" Ferguson appeared on the WPT besides the promos?

Thinking over things more, I've noticed that Randy doesn't really like John. I guarantee you that if another finalist did what he did Randy would be all "you made it your own, dawg". But since John doesn't do traditional "pop", it's "boring" because he's "doing" Sinatra and Martin but isn't Sinatra or Martin. But, with Simon backing him and the female:male ratio being 2:1, John has time to prove him wrong, and hopefully educate the audience about styles other than what ClearChannel wants you to hear.

Clooney as Magnum could actually work. But can he recreate the moustache?

The thing that I keep in mind here is that the "Soul" theme fits in perfectly for these performers. Well, most of them, anyways - Matt the Husky, Pen Guy and Dean aren't exactly tailor made for this. You knew that Fantasia would knock one out of the park this week. I agree with Simon that Leah is the most likely to go, but does that girl Diana bother anyone else?

He also managed to Standard-ize a Stevie Wonder song. Very impressive...

Not a member, but I can attest that it's great for the bathroom...

Somehow I can't see this as being permanent. Nothing to worry about.

Back to the store after buying buptkus last week... Transformers War Within Vol 2 #5, $2.95 New Mutants #10, $2.99 Weapon X #19, $2.99 (maybe) and if I had $209 to burn... SW Weathered Thermal Detonator, $209.00

His show was actually pretty decent to start, but it really started going south after he lost a lot of weight. Seeing as Ed the Sock is still on the air, I'd have to say that we can enjoy lowbrow, low budget talk shows as well as celebrity-pandering American late-night shows...

Moore, COL, major (fighting), 6:36; Cooke, VAN, major (fighting), 6:36. Looks like he answered the bell to me. Bertuzzi apparently didn't think that a checking center fighting a goon did it well enough. Moore's hit was an accident, Naslund didn't have a problem with the hit: Is Matt Cooke who you're refering to as the goon in this statement?? Do you even follow hockey?? Apparantly Moore also had a vicous hit from behind on another star in the NHL Martin St. Louis earlier this year. I'm starting to feel less and less sympathy for this kid. Now if only someone will take Marchment out once and for all in the playoffs I will be one happy hockey fan. Given the trades the Leafs have done there's a chance that Marchment might not PLAY in theplayoffs. Not that I'm complaining. The playoffs are no place for idiots like Marchment or Domi, and not having them play (much) will only help the Leafs.

I agree. Detroit already has their fair share of bad drivers, so there's no need to add to the problem.

Not a bad verdict. I also find it interesting that the suspension will be "reassessed" before next training camp. Did they truly want to reassess it, or did they figure that there's no point in suspending someone for a season that may not happen?

It really lagged in the second half. Brilliant idea, though.

Vader. A problem is that Xizor was created to be both Vader's equal and a one-shot baddie (so that it didn't conflict with anything in the Trilogy) and because of that, the character simply doesn't work. Conversely, this is why baddies like Thrawn, Daala and Isard WORK. They are featured in multi-novel arcs and thus given more time to develop, and gives us more time to care about the characters. Had they decided to let Xizor live and feature him in more stories (not writen by K.W. Jeter), I think we would have liked him better in the long run. But we didn't, and so we don't, and as a result Xizor is Just Another EU character. It's the TIE Fighter. Everyone loves the TIE Fighter...

I wouldn't call him an "enforcer" - he wasn't good enough in that department. More of a journeyman power forward. His sister was way more talented. I contend that it's just as bad. Both were attacks from behind, but one was with a stick, and one was with a roundhouse right. In both cases there was no way for the player to defend themselves. If you look at the replay, Bertuzzi - from behind - grabbed Moore's sweater to ensure that the punch would land. As Moore was kayoed, and Bertuzzi still had a handful of sweater, he went down with the dead weight. If you want to fight a guy, the unwritten code requires that you give the guy at least a sporting chance. There was none here for Moore. Like McSorley, this was clearly premeditated, and the suspension should reflect that. But then, I'm a guy who thought that Heatley should rot in jail for a year or two as well.

I hate to tell you this, but based on the most recent precedent (McSorley) Bertuzzi would be gone for this season and next...
