    The One and Only

And on this weeks ep... - Troy continues to be the man - Kwame is nonexistent - Shockingly, Omarosa pisses off people - Amy has her 259th different hairstyle - Nick acts like a copier salesman - Bill does a pretty good selling job and... - Ereka gets fired for basically getting way too emotional and not doing a very good job as PM.

    The ONE and ONLY........

Rich Hatch helped popularize reality TV's current boom, and it's his strategy that others have tried to duplicate (or adapt) ever since. I think Rob C getting voted off last week showed that if you've been damn good at this game, you're gonna get whacked at the first opportunity. Giving Rich boot, while a smart move, was also a sign of the other player's respect of the man. And it's becoming apparent that like in the Pearl Islands, the "blindside" is going to be the method of choice in ASS. I think that rumours were that two people quit ASS. However, given that how previews tend to be a bait and switch, there's a chance that Sue doesn't quit. But from how pissed off she sounded, I think that she will.

    The ONE and ONLY........

Interesting note on the boot sheet is that this is where a lot of the Survivor fan sites say that it will go wrong. Check out the ABT for who they think will go, and who "sleek28" has predicted. The consensus, though, is still that the final two will be ********* and **********

    The ONE and ONLY........

Well, I've read the (alleged) boot list for the rest of the show - it's 4 for 4 so far - so I won't comment on who's going anymore, but tonight's ep has a different question: which tribe will be dissolved? My guess is Saboga, because really, they haven't done very well in challenges, so I see them dropping the ball here.

The One And Only 24 Season 3 Thread

I don't think it'll happen. Chase will probably die leaving stupid Kim with a kid, and "hilarity" will ensue in season 4...

Stern Taken Off Radio in Six Cities

Amen to that. Getting rid of "controversial" shows is just another step in Clear Channel's homogenizing of the radio waves.

The One And Only 24 Season 3 Thread

Normally this is true. With 12 finalists they need 2 hours to do the show, but that's already established, and they normally go back down to one hour once they get to the final 10. However the next two weeks would be group 4 and the wild card round, meaning that something else is in place of 24 - likely this Forever Eden show, or that "worst of AI" show starring William Hung. The thing is that I expect the hiatus because Sweeps month is over, but the timing really, really sucks. But this is as good a time as any for everyone to check out Keen Eddie on Bravo, which is on at the same time as 24.

    Enter The Dragon: Special Edition

Best Jet Li movie I've seen (Black Mask) is more of an homage to a Bruce Lee character. Anyways, it's hard to top Bruce. The guy was just amazing with the choreography in his fight scenes. But the thing that I think really set his movies aside from all those that followed is the fact that Bruce was scary fast.
  9. Pirates of the Carribean - surprisingly good. 7.5/10

Cripes, another Trek guy - this time it's Worf's brother. Seriously, it's time to bring in Armin Shimmerman to put this whole Trek/Buffy thing into harmony. And Gael, we hardly knew ye. Sorry.

The OAO NHL 2003-2004 Season Thread

Well, they just reacquired Berehowsky, they might as well get Smith back too. Stajan I think is probably the Leafs' current "can't miss" youngster on the team right now, so I don't see him going anywhere. Maybe we can trade Domi for someone useful... If they started shoring up the defence, then the Toronto media would have less material to bitch about...

    The ONE and ONLY........

That would make sense, but of course that puts the "dissolved" tribe at a huge disadvantage - not that Burnett has been about fair.

    Ra's Al-Ghul cast

I didn't think that Scarecrow was in this movie. Watanabe, eh? Well, that's unexpected, and a very interesting choice. But on paper there doesn't seem to be any casting misfires, so I'm guessing that this is no different. Now, who's gonna play Talia?
  15. Out of Time: 6/10 Predictable thriller with a poor payoff.

The OAO NHL 2003-2004 Season Thread

Talk about a logjam for first overall. 6 teams within 3 points of the Sens. And Tampa has 74 points, so at least they're making their automatic 3rd seed look respectable, weak division notwithstanding.

    Emmy Rules Tweaked

I still can't see the Academy changing that much. The best thing here seems to be that they've got some consistency in the number of episodes to be eligible for submission. And if there's any justice (and until it gets some real competition like a non-celebrity Mole), The Amazing Race should win the reality show award every year.

    SNL Review

I actually watched the whole thing for once, so here are my thoughts: Cold Opening - thanks for the 411. Had no idea that was Darrell. Monologue - The thing I thought was that at some point they'd have her sing so you might as well get it out of the way early. Plus it had the added bonus of showing up skank whore wannabe Britney Spears simply by, you know, SINGING. Otherwise, the monologue was what it was. Sex and the City - Samantha's big "reveal" was pretty funny. Best pun was "Weenie in a bottle", playing off of Christina's song. Do You Know Who My Father Is? - It took me about halfway through the skit to figure out what it was about. Seth was pretty funny, but really it's like a version of the Zinger character so I expected it. Fun with Real Audio - This is what happens when you let a guy go up to Toronto and get people pissed off at you, I guess. Oh, and Ed the Sock > Triumph, if only for the gratuitous "Spring Break bikini contest" clips... Womens Week - Christina in a southern belle outfit was good. What more can I say? Maroon 5 ("This Love") - This was the song that I thought could be sung to "Your Woman" by one hit wonder White Town (1997-ish). Anyways, I thought that the singer was kinda stiff at the beginning but really kicked it up around the bridge. Weekend Update - The "telling Shorty's not to drink Bacardi like it's your birthday" bit would have been the best part if not for Will's line. So did Maya "get served" with that line? You Got Served - Basically the point of this was how stupid it is for two gangs to have a dance off. Woulda been fine if they had cut out a dance or two. Although you had to have Christina do a skanky dance, and Maya's "You can't see me" move was rather unexpected - I've never seen that outside of Cena doing it. And "Gonna Make You Sweat" should be retired because when I hear that I expect a Spartan dance. Also, it's at this point where I note that Christina is using a lot of blonde wigs. Ironic, or something like that. Backstage with Christina If they kept Maya to playing over-the-top divas that would be fine. I have no idea why, but she seems to do well in that role. Spanish Soap Opera Nice to see Fred showing up. I think that Finesse and Kenan both had more skits than him this week. For some reason this reminded me of the softcore soap "Latin Lover" that was running on TLN late Fridays, opposite CityTV's Baby Blue II. Why can't US basic cable be more like this? Don't answer that, I know why. I'm just grumbling. Bad Employee - This was something I expect to see on MadTV, to be honest. But it worked, and I enjoyed it. I'd also like to have been Parnell in that skit, because, well, he got to squeeze Amy's boobs. Not that I advocate that kind of stuff or anything. Maroon 5 ("Harder To Breathe") - Straight rocker with a catchy hook. Again the singer seemed off until the bridge, when he kicked it up a notch. I'd be interested to see them in a full concert, as I think the singer thrives on the adrenaline. Or maybe he was stoned before the performance? Walgreens - Typical last skit. Has it's moments but overall not very funny. Overall a good show, I quite liked it.

    The One and Only

He's gonna have to screw up big time to get fired, I think. Although I gotta say that I disagreed with the Kwame Brown autograph session he took part in. Kwame shoulda gotten fired for that one.

    The One and Only

Yep, that was Katerina. If it helps, she's the hotter one. I think Amy's hotter, but that's just my opinion. I like Troy and Nick as well. I think that either Troy or Amy will win. Sam was fun, but he was burning out quick so it was for the better that he was fired. And based on what happened to Sam (3 strikes), Omarosa will probably get fired next time she's in the boardroom, even though it seems that Trump likes her.

    Eliza Dushku to be...

To be fair though, Berry DID look good in the "catsuit". It's just that the "catsuit" is rather crappy looking - what little of it there is, anyway.

    Elmore Leonard

I'll be the first to admit that I got into Leonard thanks to the movie Get Shorty, so I'd start there, as well as the sequel Be Cool. I'd also go with a couple of his other notable novel-to-movie books, Out Of Sight and Rum Punch (aka Jackie Brown). Also, When The Women Come Out To Dance is probably a good "sampler" to try a bunch of his stuff.

    The ONE and ONLY........

Well he is a stud after all. Pretty decent episode this week, and the twist next week should be good considering this is All-Stars. Two guesses. First is that every challenge from here until the merge is for immunity, which brings us to a merge at the usual time (day 18 or so). Second (and what I think will happen) is that they're merging/swapping down to 2 tribes of 7 each, after which they'll merge when they get to 10 players (day 24 or so). Third is that each immunity is now for one tribe only, so two tribes would need to vote someone out.
