    To You Power Ranger Marks

Well, whichever was the PBS station, most likely. Now I have Rockapella running through my head...

    To You Power Ranger Marks

Yeah. Greatest thing of the Power Rangers... ever. The Green Ranger was a complete pussy when it came to actually fighting, though. He'd always be drained of his powers or screw up or something. Plus, he couldn't actually climb into his Zord, so he'd be a sitting duck a lot of the time during kaiji-style fights. Evil Green Ranger > Good Green Ranger. It's been shown time and time again that when you transition from bad guy to good guy, your power decreases and your wussiness increases. Examples include the Green Ranger, the Thunder Rangers, Venom and Magneto. Exception: Blackarachnia, so maybe this doesn't apply to females (or robots). Oddly enough, I thought that Adam was a better 'good' Green Ranger than Tommy was. But that's just me. I haven't been to Power Kangers in a while. Anything new there? Anyways, new series. I'm already not liking the chick, she comes off as a weird cross between Hillary Duff and Lita Ford. But then, it's hard to replace Sally Martin (Tori) and her sweet BUTT. I think the pink-haired girl from Ninja Storm is in Dino Thunder as well (as a new character). And since the production is all in New Zealand, I'm hoping that this means the return of the crossovers...

    American Idol 3

I think that Katie, Jennifer and possibly Marque or Erskine will be back for the wild cards. This was a tough, tough group to break out of, so hopefully that will be recognized in picking wild card contenders. Matt Metzger must have captured some of the teenybopper girl vote or something, because I thought that he was one of the worst of the bunch. The main problem with the AI voting system is that it's not always about who's best, it can be about who you like and how many times you can get through to vote for them.
  4. Yeah, aside from Julia Roberts, it's an awesome cast. I heard that the Chinese acrobat isn't back though...

The OAO NHL 2003-2004 Season Thread

When I look at the list of ex-Leaf defencemen I'd like back on the team, Berehowsky isn't particularly high on it. However, considering who he was traded for, it sounds about right. I'm also guessing that Berehowsky is a free agent at the end of the year...

U.S again denied Olympic berth by Mexicans

Yes and no. Olympic Soccer is for under 23's, and I don't think that soccer players really mature until their late 20s. So it's bad for the Olympics, but it remains to be seen how it affects the US in World Cup competition...

To be honest, you could see this coming. But at least he's got options.

    American Idol 3

Fantasia's breasts don't look as good as Julia's. Plus I think she's Final 4 bound, unlike Julia who couldn't cut it in front of an audience. And here's another difference right there - these "qualifiers" are in front of an audience, so it gives people more of a chance to see how they might fare in the Top 12. Although frankly, all the singers yesterday didn't show much stage fright.

Jonny Fairplay on CBS Early Show

If you think that they're gonna talk much about TNA, I wouldn't hold your breath. Sure, they'll talk about pro wrestling, since that's a part of who Fairplay is, but probably more of how he loved the old WWF characters than what he's doing now. C'mon, you KNEW she was gonna vote him off as she had NO chance (as opposed to a slim chance against Sandra) of winning against him. Plus, he got $75K for 3rd which isn't exactly chump change...

Who? David Herman aka David Nabbit as well as Michael Bolton in Office Space I think that he's known better for Michael Bolton. And it looks like Sherry still has a bit of Sisko in her...

    American Idol 3

I think that Fantasia and Katie Weber will make it through. Katie had presence, and her song ("Crash Bam Alakazam" or whatever) was different and helped showcase her personality. Funny thing though, I heard that song and I thought of Lynda Carter on the Muppet Show. Odd, no?

    CONAN is TORONTO

Hey, you should just be glad that Lillian Garcia gets the names of PEOPLE right most of the time... How close is that to Morrisburg? The Toronto Star has an article focusing on Ed the Sock and Triumph. Related, and mildly interesting...

    Star Wars DVD's

Thanks, but that's a bit too rich for my blood. You should be able to get them all for $30-$40 at a comic (or sci-fi) convention...

Same here. Guess I'll have to buy those ripped-from-LD non-SE DVDs at a comicon as well now...

    SNL Review

The reason Clay is so popular? He was the Ricky Morton of American Idol - the guy that all the girls would scream for. Singing-wise, I think he's good, but more Broadway than radio. Nothing I've heard from him has made me think otherwise.

    Marvel vs. DC

I totally agree with you. I just think that as stand alone character, WW is more popular. Storm benefitted from Claremont's initial run on the X-books. One of his trademarks has always been strong, powerful women, which seems to make them all the more popular. To me, Wonder Woman is a pillar of DC continuity, but in the 90's, she frankly wasn't that interesting. Remember, this is the time frame where they actually REPLACED her with another Amazon.

    Marvel vs. DC

When did he do that? I was not aware of that. Didn't he grab it in JLA/Avengers? Well, anyways, since he's the ultimate Boy Scout, I'm assuming that he's worthy of lifting it.

    Marvel vs. DC

Superman vs Thor - didn't have a problem with Supes winning. Thor, while having been around for a long time (he's a god, after all) has too many vulnerabilities: - He's not a strategic thinker. Thor's more of a "ground and pound" type of hero, if you will - Thor is mortal. All Norse Gods are mortal, and Thor tends to forget that. - Supes was worthy to hold the hammer. Not a good thing if your opponent can use your main weapon against you Lobo vs Wolverine - Wolverine may have a healing factor, but Lobo's is better. Lobo, in fact, is pretty darn invulnerable. But Wolverine is very popular, so Lobo was basically the big fatass heel to Wolvie's Hogan in this matchup Batman vs Captain America - This really could go either way, and I think Busiek's "confrontation" between the two basically spelled out how the fight would go - Batman would win if the fight was short, but over the long run, Cap would beat his ass silly. Storm vs Wonder Woman - I really don't know about this one. Storm has always been portrayed as being one of the most powerful females in the Marvel U, while WW IS the most powerful female in the DCU. This really comes down to distance. A long range fight is to Storm's advantage, but a close in fight would be all Diana. Don't remember who was in the last of the "Main Event" fights. Was it something like Spider-Reilly vs Superboy?

    The Daredevil Movie

I don't think that anyone doubts that Dafoe was brilliant in capturing the schizoid (or is it MPD?) nature of the Goblin. The suit, however, was pretty bad. If Alfred Molina can capture Doc Ock even half as well as Dafoe did the Goblin, that'll be pretty darn good.

The OAO NHL 2003-2004 Season Thread

The issue with Hamilton is more with Buffalo than Toronto. Toronto's fan base is pretty solid, so they'd be more than willing to take the money and laugh all the way to the bank. But a significant amount of Buffalo's fanbase comes from the Hamilton/Niagra region, so losing that would be severely damaging to the Sabres. I still laugh about Houston being considered for a franchise. The Stars were lightning in a bottle, and there's no way they could duplicate that success again in Texas, where football rules and people fool themselves by thinking that getting Roger Clemens is a good thing.
