Well, the Arena League now has a minor affiliation with the NFL so that may not be the way to go. You couldn't do the CFL either, since they've got some sort of deal with the NFL - and the players are lucky to get $12,000, nevermind $12 mil...

I actually thought it was funny how Saboga was all "let's start bailing" but Chapera was all "fuck that, let's flip the bloody boat over inb the air so we don't have to bail". Then Saboga was just brilliant in not balancing the boat so that they took on more water than they were bailing out. Sorry to see Rudy go, but you could kinda see this coming. The show won't be the same without him.

At this point it was obvious that Ruben would go far, but I can't speak for Kelly since I didn't watch AI-1.

Well that's good to hear. Assuming they allow him to play. To be honest, I'd like to see them have education as one of the qualifiers for draft eligibility. If you've got 3/4 of the required credits for graduation, you can enter the draft. This will never happen, of course, but it'd be nice to see.

At least we didn't have to actually SEE him this time. And at least Tracey has $10K (pre-tax) to drown her sorrows in. I still think that Rodman is the Mole, but it IS rather convenient that a model made to the Final 3 on both "Celebrity" seasons, isn't it?

In case anyone was wondering, the DVD ships 4-20 (heh)...

He did say that he'll be back next year though. And it seems that the cut people took it rather well - or at least didn't have a temper tantrum when they left. Oh, and the Hawaiian beat-box guy is now one of my favourites, now that Scooter Girl and Midge are gone...

I thought Red was in the group that made it through...

I wouldn't count on it. Supposedly Zack & Simon came to blows on World Idol. They pretty much did - verbally, at least. That's what I want to see - more debating, less Paula saccharine...

The show wasn't the greatest, but it was fun. I also think that while the NFL brass was against the show, players like Donovan McNabb were looking to get guest spots if there was a second season. Overall, I think that it's pretty obvious that some of the plots of the show - drug use, groupies, homophobia etc - hit a bit too close to home for the NFL to accept, and that's part of the reason that it got axed.

The Streaker was on a Houston radio station this morning, and told the DJs how he got onto the field (which hopefully will help the security people in Jacksonville next year). Basically, he had a front row seat, and during the halftime show, stripped down to the ref's uniform, and got onto the field. So I suppose that Janet Jackson is responsible for more nudity than initially thought...

By the way, his calling the Houston weather "miserable" seems exaggerated, but it was true. We had great weather on Monday, and then it was overcast all the way until Sunday, when it was perfect weather. And then it started raining around midnight. Oh, and I recommend that link he has to the recruiting stories of that Miami high school kid. Some good unintentional humour there.

At some point Simon and Randy will call them on it. As they've noted before, runs are done mostly because you can't find the note or you want your vocal range to look better than it actually is (see Carey, Mariah).

Model guy is the token Himbo for the show, I suppose. I think that chick who was in the pool with him was the model chick. They semi-spoiled things in the beginning since Rose Bowl Dude said it was the "hardest 4 days of his life", so I was looking for him in the cutdown scenes, but they hid him quite well. I can't remember them all, but here's who I hope to advance: Rose Bowl Dude Scooter Girl (who reminds me of Brittany Murphy for some odd reason) Midge (Little people = ratings) Pen Salesman Red Model chick (not because she sings particularly well, but because we need some eye candy) Attitude Girl Jesus Roman (I'm just waiting for either him or his brother to bash the other one with a steel chair. Hey, they said that they'll do whatever it takes...) I wonder if they're gonna have a 4th judge during the final playdowns. I heard rumours that they were gonna get another of the Pop Idol judges, but if they don't I hope they get Zak Werner (who was the only one who had the nerve to tell Kelly Clarkson that maybe she could use some more work) from Canadian/World Idol.

One and Only 'Out on the Edge' thread
starvenger replied to Yuna_Firerose's topic in Television & Film
I've always thought that Elvira Kurt was pretty funny myself. That Clay/Gay Aiken joke was probably rather tired, but it's still funny. I think she had a CTV special if you can find that for download. Alan Cumming was rather unfunny, but I suppose that standup isn't really his forte. Jim David was funny. Showed why he's a regular on Tough Crowd. Haven't seen Scott Thompson's skit yet, but Kids in the Hall stuff tends to be one of two things - funny or what the hell? - so I'm pretty optimistic. Overall, the show has been pretty hit and miss. We'll see if it gets better... -
Knowing who finishes where shouldn't affect your enjoyment of the show. Especially since they're nowhere near as detailed as SD! spoilers. You still want to know how they get there, right? Actually that would affect my enjoyment of the show. That's what a SPOILER is, it 'spoils' the show for one who doesnt want to know the future outcome. Even though they may not be as detailed as SmackDown! spoilers, I still don't want to read them or hear anything about them. That's ok - to each their own, I suppose.

I forgot about Mike "I DID inhale" Supkin. I think that he had said after his accident that he didn't want to do the show again. Jeff Varner would've been fun, for sure. Brian, I think, would have refused even if he was asked. Thailand wasn't exactly the most memorable season anyways, and I'm happy that only the Shii Devil is here, since McMah-er, Burnett screwed her out of a jury spot (and more money). They shoulda brought Kimmie back just so she could get slapped repeatedly. And what happened to Kelly? Having the original Alliance (and the creators of the "Pagonging") woulda been cool.

Me too. Amber is a hottie. I remember her. That blond shoemaker chick > her then, unless they're the same :/ I believe you're thinking of the super cute, ultimate Survivor babe 'Elisabeth' from the Australian Survivor. My favorite Survivor, by far. Elizabeth, btw, was apparently asked to participate but declined because she's on The View, and it's likely that Amber (from Beaver, um, Idaho? Iowa? Oh, who cares, she's from Beaver!) was her replacement. Knowing who finishes where shouldn't affect your enjoyment of the show. Especially since they're nowhere near as detailed as SD! spoilers. You still want to know how they get there, right? And personally, I want to see how correct ChillOne was about the final 7... Kathy is the person who was probably most deserving of winning Survivor Marquesas. It wasn't particularly exciting, but The Robfather was fun, and Kathy did put up a pretty good run towards the end. All-Stars (and their finishing position during their series): Richard: Winner Tina: Winner Ethan: Winner Bitchy Jenna: Winner Idiot Colby: 2nd Kathy: 3rd Rob C: 3rd Lex and his gut: 3rd Rudy: 3rd Big Tom: 4th Sue: 4th Amber: 6th Rupert: 7th MILF Jenna: 8th Jerri: 8th Alicia: 9th Shii Devil: 10th (didn't make merge) Bahston Rob 10th To be honest, I don't see why Amber and MILF Jenna are there aside from the eye candy factor. The others are "All Stars" not because of how they finished, but because of how they stuck in our minds. I would've liked to have seen Fairplay in this game, but I suppose MB wanted to keep an even balance between men and women.

Selma Blair To Play Lois Lane In Superman?
starvenger replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in Television & Film
Selma Blair would fit more of a Margot Kidder type than Teri Hatcher as far as Lois Lanes go. And I'd pay to see a GL movie, but of course they've got a lot of shit to sort out there. I'd prefer Hal, but of course that would give you a different GL in three different mediums. Heck, you could feature a different GL each movie. Go from Hal, to John Stewart, to Guy Gardner, to Kyle Rayner. That'd be interesting... -
If you're looking into New X-Men, I'd suggest waiting out the current storyline as you'll be confused as hell. Uncanny has a pretty good storyline right now centering around the Guthries, and I think that Weapon X is a book you should be reading right now as far as the muties go. I also recommend picking up Supreme Power, for JMS' "Ultimate Justice League"...

I was following the IceCast and it looks like the Leafs-Sens game got pretty ugly towards the end. Or maybe that was just Domi. I'm sure Don Cherry loved all the last minute violence...

Because a week or so ago, in this thread, I posted a link to a pdf file from ChillOne, who spoiled Survivor: the Amazon, and had taken a trip to Panama a few days after ASS ended. So wherever he got the info from, it's origins are from ChillOne's file.
