I agree with you, but the widget in the can is pretty cool stuff. Ozone layers, space stations and electric cars be damned, making canned beer taste like a smooth draft beer is what the brightest minds in the world should be focused on... I'd ask whether it was an Imperial or Standard pint (20 vs 16oz, I think), but then I realized that it probably doesn't matter - it's still a shitload of Guinness, and probably more than should be drank at one sitting...

Transformers GI Joe #4 (Of 6), $2.95 Exiles #39, $2.99 New X-Men #150, $3.50 Uncanny X-Men #435, $2.25 - new story arc for UXM, let's hope it's better than 'The Draco'. On the flipside, Austen's Exiles storyarc looks promising...

The One and Only Survivor: Pearl Islands Thread

If someone dropped out before the game started, they'd be the designated replacement. Tina was actually an alternate, if my memory serves me correctly. Keith may have been in it, which would probably mean he was there instead of another male player (maybe Tom). I do know that there's 9 men and 9 women though, so the three I didn't get should all be women. If survivornews.net ever gets back up I'll confirm the 18... -
It varies with each arena. As it's a corporate box, it's up to the company to decide whether you get the freebies or not. If they give it to you, expect finger foods, beverages, and maybe even a program.

Well, that wuss McNair didn't start Sunday, which cost me my keeper league semifinal match (one TD pass woulda won the game for me). ...okay I'm a little bitter about that. He did lead me to the regular season title, but it's just not the same as winning the league title. I am still in the hunt in my other fantasy league, so hopefully he's back, because I sure as heck don't want to rely on Bledsoe or Brad Johnson next week...

It's been out on the net for a while. 18 players, apparently 3 tribes. From what I remember (I can't access SurvivorNews.net at the moment...): Palau Tiga - Rich (winner) - Rudy - Sue Australia - Tina (winner) - Jerri - Colby Kenya - Ethan (winner) - Big Tom - Lex Marquesas - Kathy - Bahston Rob Thailand - Shii Ann Amazon - Rob C - Jenna (winner) Pearl Islands - Rupert That's 15. I'll have to get back to you on the other 3, but I think they were Jenna from S1, Alicia from S2 and one other woman... -
They could still do it. Aisle 4: Coffee, Tea, Gretzky Exhibit...

When in doubt, go with the dark sweaters. Bonus: Cheesesteak stains will blend in nicely.

A lot of times the Cup IS in Toronto. Just not in the Air Canada Centre. It's an agonizing 5 minute walk north of the ACC, in the Hockey Hall of Fame. And yes, the Leafs are looking playoff bound, but it's only December, so there's still lots of hockey left to be played this year, and I remain optimistic. Especially since I haven't had to piss and moan about Dummy and Tucker much...

Guinness Draught is listed at 4.1% (by vol), which sounds about right. A draft Guinness should be a bit more though. And this is a personal preference, but you should never shoot down a good beer. Take your time and enjoy iy. Save the chugging for the regular stuff.

I dunno, maybe it's just me, but Paycheck doesn't look bad, and it doesn't look like it would be an "easy" way of getting a pay-check. Same with Daredevil in my oppinion(Although it seems alot don't like this movie.) I don't have anything against Ben, but J-LO, thats a different story. I don't like Lopez. Can't say that I always have (Out of Sight is still a great movie) but I think that the constant media overexposure has just killed any appeal she had for me. Plus she has the most overrated ass in the entertainment industry (no, not Affleck). Affleck, I like, although I think he's trying too hard to become a MegaMovieStar. This thing with Lopez guarantees that he'll have to ride out the wave of bad press before things get back to normal for him - whatever normal is for an actor is, anyways. Honestly, I think that things like Celebrity Poker are probably good for his image. Speaking of poker, did anyone see that chick Evelyn Ng on the World Poker Tour "ladies night" special?

To be fair, I don't think that either of them did particularly well at tribal council. But between the whole stigma of Lil being an Outcast and Sandra's alliance there was no way she was winning. And I think that Lil did the right thing taking Sandra. There was no way Lil would have beat Jon - forget what they said at the Reunion, as Jon can talk his way out of (or into) anything, plus the jury tends to favour "playing the game" over being nice - so taking who SHE thought deserved the money more was a good call. And hey, $100K isn't chump change. Which is funny, since Survivor All-Stars finished taping LAST WEEK. However, rumour has it that she was an alternate for the show if one of the other 18 dropped out. As always, the final was anticlimatic, but then it almost always is. On only 2 occasions has the Survivor that I thought was the best player actually won, or even made Final 2. By now I think that it's impossible to go the Richard Hatch route and get someone to take you to the finals, you have to win that final immunity challenge to ensure that you get there (a la Brian Hedik). In case your wondering, my list of "best players" goes as follows: 1 - Rich (1st) 2 - Mike (11th, we know why he went out so early) 3 - Lex (3rd) 4 - Kathy (3rd) 5 - Brian (1st) 6 - Rob (3rd) 7 - Jon (3rd) As you can see, by my reckoning 3rd is a VERY popular place to be if you're the best player in the game. So congrats, Jon, you're in distinguished company. -

It would be funny for Burton to say "yeah, he's still my buddy" and then give him a steel chair to my head... -

No, it never was fair, but in retrospect Rupert was the architect of his own demise. He and his alliance took the support of the two Outcasts and figured that they could eliminate them at any time in the game. Unfortunately, people have a funny way of not being content with 6th or 7th, and Rupert was gone. Savage got screwed, to be sure, but I doubt that he'd have lasted to the final four anyways, so I'm not particularly upset at the Outcasts for that. Tijuana was also screwed over by her short-lived "U-Go-Girl" alliance, who sided with Jon and the Outcasts and voted her out, so she does have a legit partial beef here. So, yeah, it's unfair that Burton and Lil are back, but I gotta say that it's kept me entertained through a period where things are generally pretty boring. -
Yeah, avoid the Kyocera 2255. It's servicable, but not all that great. I'm in the process of porting my number over to Virgin Mobile (since I don't use my cell too much) and the Audiovox 8500, so I'll have to see how that goes...

Completely agree. I think that it'll be Burton though. -
Uncanny X-Men #434 (3/10) "The Draco, part 6" Wow, what a disappointing end to a mediocre arc. The fill-in artist wasn't very good, we don't really get closure on the Juggy/Alpha Flight subplot, and really there's not much important information added to Nightcrawler's origin that we didn't already know. This arc can make you see where some of the Austen hate comes from. Transformers War Within Vol 2 #3 (6.5/10) "The Dark Ages, part 3" It's got some decent action, but we really don't get enough of it. Story-wise, I like how the story is going, but it really didn't progress much this issue. On the other hand, we're getting information on some of the lesser characters that we weren't likely to get otherwise, so that's not a bad thing.

Firefly is one of those "you like it or you don't" shows. Joss Whedon obviously has a lot of faith in it, and the small fanbase is pretty diehard, but personally I thought it was crap.

Bryan Singer In Talks To Direct X-Men 3
starvenger replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in Television & Film
Well, they still could. Remember that originally Beast only had oversized hands and feet and increased agility, and no blue (or grey) fur - that happened later in his solo adventures. Colossus might make a return as well, but perhaps the time is right for Storm to leave and for us to see the debut of... Dazzler!!! OK, maybe not... -
I'm pretty much the same way. Never watched the original series, but I think that this remake has promise. And I wonder about the cliffhanger ending - was this put in because they knew that Sci-Fi was picking this up, or was it done in hopes that Sci-Fi would pick them up? Finally, I liked this mini but hated Firefly - does that make me a poor excuse for a sci-fi geek?
