Potential Backlash WWE Title Match Spoiler

I don't remember where I read it, but I have heard rumors that the Eliminators were going to reunite at One Night Stand 2006, I suppose the person who photo-shopped that poster heard the same rumor I did. And, last I heard Saturn has recovered remarkably well.

    WWE Nowadays....

...What's an ellipse?... ...But seriously, Ron has a few good points. WWE does need to merge the rosters, they do need competition to keep them on their toes (at present, TNA isn't competition), and they do need to establish more superstars. They don't however, need to bring The Rock or Stone Cold back alot. The Rock prefers movies and Stone Cold is old and repetitive. And Bill Gates + pro wrestling = the apocalypse.

    The Fast and the Furious...

I'll always think of him as the kid from Slingblade.... I have almost zero interest in this film. It shouldn't have been made without Paul Walker or any of the other original cast members.

Most forgettable stint in a promotion

Haku (AKA Meng) in the WWF in early 2001 when he was still WCW Hardcore champ. A few more forgettable stints: Jake Roberts in ECW (1997 or 1998) Maxx Payne as Man Mountain Rock in WWF (1994 or 95) Missy Hyatt in WWF late 1980's Dustin Rhodes in WWF in 1991 Tugboat in WCW wearing a Stormtrooper helmet (1993) Chris Adams in WCW late 1990's Ultimate Warrior in WCW 1998 Terry Gordy in WWF in 1996 under a hood as the Executioner Mike "Virgil" Jones in ECW (I could've sworn I've seen a tape with him VS. Terry Funk from around 1993) I don't think this counts, but Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins appeared on ECW on TNN once. He was in the ring to "debut a new song" when Corino, Jack Victory, Scotty Anton, and Lou E. Dangerously (Sign Guy Dudley) came out, and Corgan hit Lou in the head with his guitar.

    Dicks Worn Out...

WWE released Tank Tolland and Chad Wicks (The Dicks) last week. The main reason they were released was because of a fight between Tolland and Wicks. Wicks was constantly being ribbed and hazed by a number of the veteran Smackdown wrestlers including JBL, Chris Benoit and The Undertaker. Wicks handled the ribbing poorly, and he'd often complain about it, which lead to even more ribbing. Tolland felt that Wicks' constant complaining would put their jobs in jeopardy. Just recently, the tag team partners had a physical altercation as Tolland punched Wicks. The fight put WWE management in a sticky situation because they couldn't possibly justify firing the wrestler who was punched and not the wrestler who did the punching. And thus, WWE decided to just release the both of them. Tolland and Wicks will be going their separate ways on the indy scene. source - Pro Wrestling Torch (by way of LordsofPain.net)

WON Notes - Rey hurt - Warrior lawsuits...

Sid was great, but after what happened to his leg I don't think he'd have much left anymore. And any comparison between Sid and Snitsky is baseless. Sid had tons of charisma, a great finisher, and a great presence. Snitsky just has a catchphrase, and that got old a long time ago.

Eric Bishoff contract NOT to be renewed???

I never liked him, he was an annoying character and was a constant reminder of the shitty WCW.

Hot Dogs and Hot Dog culture.

So does anyone here aside from me like mayonaise on their hotdogs? I actually thought that was a somewhat common thing.

Wrestlers better then Finlay right now

I don't get the Finlay love at all, and I've seen all of his work on Smackdown since returning. He's still the same boring lug he was in WCW, although I was mildly amused when he beat up the midgets last week. Maybe he's techincally good in the ring but that can't overcome his boring persona and my horrible memories/association of Finlay in WCW. So, IMO almost the entire roster is better than Finlay right now. But I guess he's better than guys like Snitsky, Tomko, Lashley, and all the women wrestlers. I'd even rank Chris Masters ahead of Finlay because he atleast has an interesting character and potential, and no shitty WCW history hanging over his head.
  11. Actually, Davey wore different tights at the IYH match than he had on at SummerSlam '92. Lawler incorrectly said they were the same tights in the commentary, but he was just saying that to add to the atmosphere of the match. At SS 92 Bulldog's tights had text on them and were designed differently than the ones he wore in the IYH match. Watch both matches on Bret's dvd set to see what I mean.

    Interesting Note

Sure Triple H sucks, but Jarrett's not even in his league. Double J has no business as the top guy in any wrestling company. ...And what's the Chatterbox newsletter? Certainly sounds like Meltzer has some competition.

Hot Dogs and Hot Dog culture.

I prefer mayonaise and mustard on my hot dog, no ketchup though.

WWE notes from Da Meltz on Figure Four Daily

I don't understand all of the recent smark love for Mark Henry. He's the same useless, boring piece of garbage he's always been in the ring. I'd say he's comparable to Viscera, only less entertaining. I wish WWE would just have him sit out the rest of his contract instead of putting crowds to sleep with him on Smackdown. And if Mick Foley ever wants to wrestle again, he needs to seriously get into shape. And he needs to get motivated. But, as his signing with WWE instead of TNA shows -- Foley is just in it for the money.

Taker is right to be pissed. Johnny Ace should be fired!

100 things we didn't know this time last year

    75. Raw would move back to USA 76. Smackdown would move from Thursdays to Fridays 77. Bret Hart would participate in a WWE dvd about his career 78. Chris Candido would die as a result of an injury that happened during a TNA ppv

    WWE DVDs

Older WWE and WWF dvds definitely had copy protection. I know for sure dvd's like Foley's Hard Knocks and Cheap Pops, Hulk Still Rules, Rey Mysterio 619, and Shawn Michaels From the Vault all had it. The first WWE dvd I know of without copyguard was "Undertaker: He Buries Them Alive" which came out on dvd last year.
  20. Has anyone here ever worked at a fast food place or restaurant and witnessed food tampering? If so, post your horror stories. Here's a few of mine: *In highschool I worked at Burger King and it was common knowledge someone had peed in the pickle jar. *Last month, I was eating a meat lover's pizza from Pizza Hut and found something that felt and looked suspiciously like a worm. I'm still kicking myself for not filing a lawsuit... *One of my friends works at a pharmacy that also serves hamburgers, fries, stuff like that. She told me that the guy who fries the burgers, picks raw hamburger meat out from under his finger nails and mixes it into the next patty. I found these on another message board I go to... After all this, I never want to eat out again. **As a former cook for O'Charley's, Olive Garden and Outback steakhouse, let me give you folks a peice of advice. Don't come in five minutes before the place closes. Admit defeat and go to Taco Bell. They are open till 2 a.m. Whatever they do to your food there won't be half as bad as a cook who has to fire up the grill he's just cleaned and shut down. One case in particular. A party of eight calls in to ask when we close. They are told 11 p.m. They show up at 10:57. Why? Because they want the place to themselves. I won't go into details here, but let's just say certain food items for this party rested in the BUTT crack of a fellow employee for a couple of seconds. **Being rude to your waiter is the best way to get "tampered" food. Also, showing up late will get you crappy, rapidly prepared food, cause the cooks are trying to get outta there. Other that that, sometimes the waiter will come back and say something like, "The guy out there wanted me to tell you the food was great! Best he's ever had here!" And you get kind of a feeling of pride, even if you hate the job. Most cases the food your eating is safe though. **While I'm not a cook (I'm a dishwasher), I can still tell you a couple of stories of food tampering. One of my friends used to work at Arby's as a cashier and...cook? I don't know what the title is over there. He'd work there high as a kite sometimes. However, even though he was stoned, he somehow had the ability to remember anyone and everyone who came in the store. If he hated you, your sandwich more than likely got dropped on the floor at least once, or if you were really lucky, he slapped his cock on it a few times. I'm currently a dishwasher at Friendly's. Over the summer, we don't close until midnight, but the cook(s) on duty usually like to have the kitchen closed by 11:30, or even 11 on a really slow night. One evening, one of the cooks decided to close up early, and he started handing me the usual crap, the fries, chicken fingers, and the bacon. All this stuff has to get thrown away and their containers washed so they can be ready for the next day. Anyway, so before he can fully close the kitchen, some customers come in and order something off the menu that needs bacon and fries (more than likely a hamburger). But of course, he doesn't have any more bacon or fries. There's only one thing left for him to do: pick it out of the trash. So he does, and the poor, unsuspecting customers...yeah. I felt bad for them, because they really did nothing to deserve it. **I wasn't a cook, I was a waiter, but towards the end of my year-and-a-half tenure there, I *did* start getting even with some a-hole regulars. Mainly, what I would do, is I'd run into the bathroom just before the order was ready, start touching my bare ass and "coin purse" for several seconds, go back without washing my hands, HANDLE the food, and happily serve it. One such incident, and I make no apologies for it, to one idiot customer who kept keeping me way later than usual for a lousy tip, I pissed in my hand and handled the food with it! (evil grin) **I never worked at a restaurant but I worked at a pharmacy and a video store. I never got tipped but I still sympathize with the cooks and waiters. Some people are *beep* and should get whats coming to them. Its that simple. In fact, customers should be hastled just for the fact that they're being fucked on their own free time when the people who are working for them aren't. I mean if youre going to a restaurant, youre there to have a good time, not be a bitch. So what the fuck? The only time someone should be uptight is when theyre under stress and if youre eating luxuriously at a restaurant, and i say luxurious cause I am a starving college student, then you should be as chill as fuck. Anyone who disagrees with me should confront your parents about how you were raised and asked to be spanked for being an idiot. ** I love the restaurant business. I've seen onions and chicken hauled out of the garbage at the last minute. I've seen countless eggrolls dropped on the ground and picked back up within 5 seconds (we can move fast when we have to, a dinner rush is proof enough of that). I've seen a cook get really pissed off at a server and just put off making the order for half an hour and then walk out, happy as a clam. Ooh, that was a bad night. STAND TALL, MY FELLOW COOKS! HOLD THE LINE! SPIT IN THE FOOD! SHOW THE POMPOUS BASTARDS OF SOCIETY WHOSE BOSS!

Bret Hart on The Big Idea W/ Donny Deutsch

Here's the full recap from WrestlingObserver.com: Bret Hart's segment came during the last ten minutes of the show. The segment started with footage of Bret's match against Owen Hart at Wrestlemania X, and Donny said Bret and Owen's popularity soared during their feud. Bret was on via satellite from Toronto. The first question was if Bret knew Eddie Guerrero, Bret said he knew Eddie well; he was a sweet guy with a heart of gold, and he was always smiling. Donny brought up that Eddie died of heart failure and speculated it might be steroid-related. Donny asked Bret's opinion of Vince McMahon's new drug-testing policy. Bret said WWE steroid-testing in the 90's was a very serious thing; he heard of people cheating but he never cheated, and didn't personally know of anyone who did. He said there were always two guys watching you when you took the test. And he said soon after he left WWE in 1997 they did away with the policy. That leads into Donny asking about the 1997 Survivor Series double-cross. Bret said he still stands by the way he behaved that day, and he told the truth. He mentioned that earlier the week of Survivor Series and even on that day, McMahon said to Bret he's the Cal Ripken and the Lou Gehrig of the company. Bret said people will say "he should've done what he was told" but Bret said he's his own business man and he had to protect himself; he was lied to and screwed over by everyone in a humiliating fashion "unworthy of Lou Gehrig or Cal Ripken." Donny asked "If the script was for you to win that match, how did it change in the ring?". Bret said there's alot of backstabbing and politics involved. Donny then asked about how Bret punched McMahon that day (at Survivor Series) but now they seem to have made peace. Bret said he never said Vince was a murderer, or had anything to do with Owen's death other than being the head of the company, it was just an accident that everyone regretted. Donny asked about Owen being afraid of heights, Bret said Owen was a high-flyer, but he didn't want to fly that high. Donny asked what could've been done to avoid Owen's accident. Bret said Owen was a talented wrestler and the stunt wasn't a good idea in the first place. Donny asked if it was a mistake to continue the PPV after Owen's death. Bret said he always disagreed with how they handled it, but in fairness everyone was scrambling, and people were saying the fans might riot if the show ended early. But Bret thinks that's hogwash and the fans would've been respectful. Then Donny plugged Bret's dvd, thanked Bret and that's the end of his segment.

Any serious thoughts about the nuclear option?

I think everything's gone downhill since the roster split and they should've ended it about 2 years ago. But I seriously doubt WWE will end it anytime soon.

    GameCube DRE

I've had this happen to me with 2 different GameCubes. Oddly enough, both times I was playing a Resident Evil game: After I played through 3/4 of the first Resident Evil, my Gamecube had an error message every 15 minutes no matter what game I had in. I returned it for a new Gamecube and it worked fine from mid-2002 until... Early this year when I got Resident Evil 4, then it started happening again. But, thankfully this time the DRE's only seem to happen with RE4. I haven't tried RE1 lately, but I think it would probably cause errors too. I have no idea what it is about Resident Evil that kills my Gamecubes...

TNA Announces Major debut @ Genesis

I think Christian should form some kind of alliance with Rhino in TNA, since they're friends in real life and have a little history together in WWE.
