  1. I was thinking about how I found out about Santa Claus not being "real" and the similarities between pro wrestling and Santa. So, how did you find out that wrestling, like Santa, is a big horrible lie perpetuated by our elders?

    2008 Wrestling Dead Pool

I saw Jake on the WWE "Where are they now" website, fishing with his two sons, and they all had Miller Lights. Did he fall off the wagon again? Or, is he just a social drinker now?

How did you find out that wrestling was not "real"?

"Smart Fans." They're too worried about work rates and ppv buys and end up taking the fun out of wrestling. But, how does this all tie in to our discussion about Santa Claus?

    Gino Hernandez

I don't think if he had lived that he would have stayed in wrestling. He wanted to be an actor.

How did you find out that wrestling was not "real"?

I saw Brutus Beefcake chasing Ron Bass throught the audience with the "hedge clippers." I told my Dad about it and he said, "You know that's fake, right?" That was '88. Part of the fun of wrestling was/is figuring out what's real and what isn't and how they do it.

    Year End Review

I'm talking about in ring work, of course. I find Cena to be quite humorous. His induction of "The Fridge" was great. But, I'd like him better if he still had the funky bunch with him.

    Year End Review

What does John Cena have that Khali doesn't (I'm referring to in ring abilities). He has the FU and his horrible crossface. What's wrong with wrestling? Fans like Douchebag putting over entertainers like John Cena. No offense, Douchebag.

    The Pursuit of Perfection

Ha. The Chargers. I'm sure the Patriots would love to throttle the Chargers again. Well, I can't speak for them. But, I'd like to see L.T. eat some humble pie. With Romeo and Willie, the Browns are the most dangerous team in my opinion.

    The PS 50

You would rank Cena ahead of Kurt Angle and Randy Orton? Why in the world would John Cena be in the Top 10? My shoelaces could wrestle a better match than him.

    ECW 12.18.07

I continue to be impressed by both C.M. Punk and M.V.P. As far as 10 minute matches go, this one was really good. I think wrestling needs more DQ's and countouts like this. I can't remember the last time someone was disqualified for not releasing a hold. Maybe Andre at WM5.

    The Pursuit of Perfection

Bob Griese controls the international banks. Tom Brady was the guest of honor at W's state of the union address a few years back, and Bush the 1st usually attends the Super Bowl. Then again, there's that rumor about Don Shula being the Prince of Darkness.

    The Pursuit of Perfection

I don't see a loss to the Colts or the Packers. I see a loss to the Giants as more probable. If they get to the Super Bowl, they will win. Of course, with the '72 Dolphins and their "Illuminati-like" presence over the NFL anything is possible. Let the conspiracy theories continue

    What are you watching?

I was watching Starrcade '97 last night and one of the referees was Mickey James. I thought that was funny.

Yeah, I always wonder if the two are related. 6-Alive!! Count on us!

Matches You Wish You Still Had On Tape

My original broadcast copy of Summer Slam '93 recently broke. The tape came off of the little spool thing (these are technical terms, of course). I tried using scotch tape to repair, and it plays, but it's all messed up. The top of the screen shows the bottom of the screen and the bottom of the screen shows the top of the screen. This experience has taught me to be thankful for the tapes and DVD's that I do have. I lost about half of my collection in 1996 when I brought it to school and left in my locker. I never cleaned my locker out at the end of the year and the janitor threw it all out. Fortunately, it was mostly WrestleMania's, Royal Rumbles, etc. I think it was good in the long run because it inspired me to search out other wrestling tapes.

    Year End Review

I've only been watching WWE for the last month, however, I will fill out what I can because these things are fun and fun is good. Wrestler of the year: C.M. Punk. I see what all the hype is with this guy. He's the real deal. Of course, maybe it's just his "old school" trunks Worst wrestler of the year: The Miz. Why? Best Tag Team: MVP and Matt Hardy. Despite their differences, they worked well as a team Worst Tag Team: Miz and Morrison Best Heel: John Cena, he's the most hated wrestler in the world Best Face: John Cena, he's the most loved wrestler in the world Best Diva: Mickey James Worst Diva: Kelly Kelly Best Comeback: "Nature Boy" Ric Flair Best brand: Smackdown Worst brand: Raw Best Feud: MVP v. Matt Hardy Worst Moment of the Year: Y2J's return as a chippendale's dancer. Notes: I know some of the younger fans don't appreciate teams like Deuce and Domino or the Highlanders. But, if anyone in wrestling should have cheesy gimmicks, it's the tag teams. Jesse and Festus would have been perfect wrestling in the old ECW. The WWE has made improvements all around since the last time I watched *Mr. McMahon v. God* The matches are a bit slower and better paced. Recently, Jeff Hardy/Umaga and MVP/Rey Mysterio came off well, in my opinion.

TNA Comments which don't warrant a thread

Has TNA even mentioned Scott Hall's name since the no-show?

Matches You Wish You Still Had On Tape

I had a couple episodes of "Prime Time Wrestling" from 1987. I remember a few of the matches being Tito Santana vs. Nikolai Volkoff, The Hart Foundation vs. Tito Santana and the Junkyard Dog, and one involving the Islanders. Gorilla Monsoon brings Bobby Heenan to the Doctor's to have his neck checked out. Later, he gives him a gold brick. The movie "Howard the Duck" was also on that tape. Wish I still had it.
  21. What are the ingredients included in a good wrestling card?
  22. majormayhem1

What makes for a good wrestling card?

Cabbageboy gets the gold star. Both balance and variety are included here. I would add an interview segment, a six man tag match, or a "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan match as the cherry on top of this delectable wrestling sundae.

    COUGHCOUGHWEEK13*

We finally have an actual dumbass Boston fan on these boards. Pick on him and leave the rest of us alone. Thank you for illustrating my point. He's a Pats fan, you retard. You just illustrated his point. Ah, gotcha. Thanks for the heads up on that one.
