I think it was at the ECW show in Philly this year that Devito showed up (one of Da Baldies from the original ECW) dressed as a priest and Styles and Tazz acted like they had never seen him before.

http://img504.imageshack.us/img504/4039/wweupdatefk1.gif No idea whether that graphic works or not but I'm posting it anyway so it doesn't go completely to waste. Haven't had the chance to read the show...I'll try to give some feedback if I can find the time/energy/whatever.

I remember once during a Kane/Snitsky match, Lawler said something like "these fans are really loving this match" while in the background you can CLEARLY see the crowd doing the wave. I thought that was pretty funny.

Possible Stupid Question Alert: With Dominick being involved in this whole Guerrero storyline, have they made any reference to the "I'm your Papi" angle from last summer?
-
They defintely called it in their rematch, though.
-
I'd have marked for a big "strait edge says I'm better than you" right there.
-
Actually, "cooning" refers more to the minstrel-esque mentality of blacks who play up the negative stereotypes surrounding the race for the sake to entertaining whites and others. I haven't watched Raw in ages so I can't comment on the gimmick.

I dunno if this counts, but: "Did you ever notice that Tupac and Makeveli look JUST ALIKE"? --Me circa 1997 without even a hint of sarcasm. And what's bad about that is that I was actually a hip hop fan (though admittedly, not as much as I am now), so yeah I got clowned pretty bad for that one. Like Citrus, I can't name any rockers/country stars outside of maybe a handful of people/groups I've heard of through the net. Also, I barely watch TV, so I doubt I could list too many of today's big name celebrities if I tried.

That was actually Austin and Owen in their rematch from Summerslam. The ending was so abrupt that even JR had to comment "I thought Austin would've wanted to punish him a little more." I was just watching the HBK/Austin vs Owen/Bulldog tag title match from 97, and I've gotta say the finish for that one comes outta nowhere. Not to the point where it hurts the match (it actually adds a lot to it), but even now, knowing how things went down, the ending kinda catches me off guard whenever I watch it.

On that note, Razor and the Kid from 93.

I thought RVD's reigns in 02 were pretty good, but I can say I cared for Orton's. He rarely seemed to focus on the belt while he had hit, and once he really started hitting a stride as champion, they jobbed him out and moved him onto the World Title. And on that note, one thing that bugs me about how the title's handled these days is that the champion never gets the chance to challenge for the World belt anymore. Back in the day, it wasn't inconceivable for I-C titleholders to challenge for the title (and in some cases win the title), and I think that in itself did a lot to raise the title's image. You'd almost never that now, and in the rare instance the champion is considered for a main event push, they always drop the belt before hand, which is kinda corny.

I saw this over at IP, but I didn't see a thread here so I decided to post the link. If it's already been discussed or anything, then delete it. http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2003560...6340312,00.html

My mom recently sold an old computer, which we found out today still has a lot of her personal information on it. Now naturally, we'd like to get this information off the machine before giving it up, and we need to do so ASAP since the person who bought the machine is supposed to come pick it up tomorrow. I advised her not to go through by hand and start deleting stuff, but without any of the original software that came with it, we're unable to restore it to the factory settings. Anybody have any advice on what I should do? Is there somewhere I can download something that should allow me to reset the machine (it's operating on Windows 95, BTW)? Should I just take my chances and delete the stuff, or is there some other solution I'm missing?
-
Yeah. It's actually the computer given to her by her old job, and apparently they never gave her any disks. I'll probably end up doing it manually. Thanks for the help.
-
Well, we don't have the CD or the bootable disk, and I have no clue how to remove the hard drive.

So when does the Zero Hour change come into effect? Are there gonna be two Zero Hours this year or are y'all waiting til next year to do it again?
-
LOL at the guy screaming "This is very ECW" just before the break.

Funniest thing about this report to me is the idea of Vince being upset that Heyman built a fanbase that won't accept change. Now ignoring the stupidity running a show build to capitalize on nostalgia and then being surprised when your target fanbase doesn't accept something that differs from the original, you mean to tell me that in ECW they've got fans that are a) loyal to the brand name and b) vocal enough to more or less tell you what you need to do to get their money, and that's a bad thing? Yeah, in order for ECW to have any legs, they're eventually gonna have to do something to separate itself from the original, but for the time being, if they wanna capitalize off the ECW name, wouldn't common sense tell you to at least try to recreate the original as closely as possible? This isn't rocket science.

They tried too hard with #3.
-
I really miss Fonzie being there to take the belt off of Rob during his introduction.
-
Looked like it said "ECW needs Corino"
-
They're killing me with all these bullshit skits.

I'm guess this is directed at me. Either way, my point is that knowing and/or caring about backstage happenings doesn't make you smart by any means. To me the fan who posts "fuck Steph and Gewirtz" because of their rumored treatment of Heyman is really no different than the fan who boos heel X because he did something dastardly to face Y. You're marking one way or the other.
-
To me, backstage knowledge is irrelevent when determining who's a smark and who's not, because whether you're it's from a wrestling promoter or a wrestling reporter, chances are you're being worked one way or the other. Besides, with the internet being as prevalent as it is, I'm willing to bet that most fans (or at least half) have been exposed to at least some insider info. Hell, at my high school, I can remember some of the casual fans surfing sites like LOP and telling me about the Corporate Ministry at least 2 weeks before they debuted. And I really don't like to get into all the generalizations either, because for every hardcore Benoit fan out there, you've got somebody like me who roots for Chyna. Speaking for myself, the only discernable difference I see between my "mark" days and my current view of wrestling (which is more "smarkish" than anything) is that now I have a better understanding of why I react to certain matches/angles the way I do. Overall, my tastes haven't changed.

That'd have been a lot better if they had him (the stripper) interupt Kelly to show her how it's done, then have Sandman out for the save.
