  1. Mostly revolves around these 7 principles called the Nguzo Saba, with one day dedicated to each principle (i.e. day one is Umoja, which means unity, day two for Kujichagulia--self determination, and so on). A candle is lit for each day of the celebration, and I think there's some gift-giving involved as well, although we never really got into that aspect of it since we celebrated christmas (which I'm also not big on these days) too.
  2. I celebrated it a while back, but never consistantly. I was honestly never too big on it.

    The Future of the OAOAST

You know, these days I'm kinda on the outside looking in as far as the fed goes, so I'm not sure if this is as big an issue with anybody else, but I think that we could probably benefit from more communication among the posters involved. I was really joking about the AIM chats, but really stuff like that would go a long way in promoting a sense of community--helping everyone, especially newer members, to feel more involved and what not--and also I think it'd improve the overall cohesion of the shows. I mean, I don't feel that we're all so disconnected that it's a problem, but I remember there were a couple of minor issues towards the end of my run that I feel wouldn't have happened if we'd been a little more communication. And again, I'm not suggesting weekly chats or anything, because I know it's not always feasible, but in the future it'd be nice to just touch base every once in a while just to get more familiar with one another, get a better idea of what everybody's doing, etc. And fuck y'all for turning this into a serious thread! This wasn't supposed be a serious thread! I knew I shoulda started a deadpool instead.

    The Future of the OAOAST

Agreed about the shooting. I don't recall it ever happening to the point that it got to be a serious problem (but then again, I've been dipping in and out of the fed for most of the year, so I can't say for sure), but when I've seen it it's left a bad taste in my mouth. I also agree about mods. I really don't know much about GCF and how it affects storylines and what not, but just looking at the list it's always seemed a little silly to have as many mods as we do (really, it seems like the whole fed's on the list). I dunno about modding me, though. Tony made me a mod around AM3 so that I could edit the graphics into shows, and I swore I was gonna wreck the board that week. Feedback's always been an issue, but still a valid one. If it matters any, I've got some free time over the next couple of weeks and I'm gonna try and give some detailed feedback on the shows.

Yeah, she was the returning Blue Meanie's valet. You're thinking of Jasmin St. Claire. Jenna was around for a minute though.

It's cool. I'm rather anti-social anyway. I'm the type of person who'll get everybody's screen name just so I can block them.

I'm pretty sure that was Jimmy Del Ray

Most forgettable stint in a promotion

I swore I was the only person who remembered this man. He came in right after I started watching and I remember thinking that he was gonna be somebody important...then he vanished after about a month.

Well...I graduated college and I didn't die. All I asked for out of 05.

By the same token, their run in ECW in early 99. It was funny because at...I wanna say House Party, the Dudleys made a challenge to them as the one team in the company history that they'd never beaten. The night they were supposed to show up, Bubba comes out and buries them in a promo, saying they didn't respect the ECW fans and that they didn't care about the company, and it got to the point that the fans actually began to turn on PE in favor of the Dudleys. Then--just to show how fickle the fans were--PE runs out to the ring and the crowd does a complete 180 and starts going crazy for them. And what made it even funnier was that they left for WWF like a week later, making the fans look even more stupid IMO for getting behind them. For other forgettable runs...the Quebeccers' return to WWF back in 98, and save for the Rumble and the Plane Ride from Hell, I'd say Perfect's run in 02 was pretty forgettable as well (although I'll be damned if I didn't mark for him Perfect Plexing the Big Show).

Did he also yell "Shit" everytime somebody hit him? That'd be pretty funny if he did.

    best wrestling game for nin64

Attitude (at least the PS version, anyway) had the option to do a triple threat Survivor Series match, IIRC, which I always thought was pretty cool. I also like the fact that you could create and modify the arena. I've only played WM2000 and No Mercy for 64, and while I kinda prefer the season mode on the former, I overall I think No Mercy was better.

    Violence IS the answer?

If it was up to me, he'd have been gone, but my mom wants to keep him on until he can finish the work.

    Violence IS the answer?

Amazingly, I had JUST looked at this thread yesterday before getting into some stuff. For the last month or so we've been having our second floor renovated by this guy. Now I haven't liked this dude from the beginning, but he's already managed to piss both my parents off to the point where neither of them really wanna deal with him, and I'm the only one in the house that's nice enough to interact with him. Now this dude has a habit of copping an attitude and complaining about the stupidest shit (for instance, last week he came to me complaining that the bathroom smelled like perfume as if he wanted me to fix it), and we've had a couple of minor arguments, but still I go out of my way to be nice to this man and show him respect, which is why I got so pissed about this whole situation from yesterday. Now I was on the computer, which is on the first floor in the dining room, and this guy is on the second floor bathroom (which isn't that far away because this isn't a big house, but keep in mind that there are at least two walls between us). So he calls down to me asking something about a towel. I could hear him speaking, but I couldn't hear exactly what he was saying, so naturally I said "what?" He repeated his request, but I still couldn't hear him, so I started over to the stairwell to see if I could get a better idea of what he's saying. "Did you say a towel," I asked. He responds, "what, am I not talking English here? YES A TOWEL!" Now I'm more than a little annoyed by this, because if there's one thing that makes me mad, it's sarcastic comments like that. Still, I tried to let that go and I'm still trying to figure out just what it is he's asking for, but he's so caught up in his own bullshit that he's not making sense. So again I ask "what?" He comes back with another smart ass comment, "what, you can't understand English", and at this point he's getting on my nerves so I say sternly "look, you're gonna stop getting smart with me, alright?" He responds: "I'm getting smart with YOU?! YOU'RE GETTING SMART WITH ME!!!!" Now by this point this dude is just pissing me off, and I start to come back at him, but rather than get caught up in something stupid, I just throw up my hands and say "fuck it. I'm not gonna sit here and argue with your dumb ass" (I didn't actually mean to say that out loud, but that's how bad he was getting to me). So I go back to the computer and try to mind my own business, but he keeps carrying on at the top of the stairwell: "Can I please get a towel?! All of this hard work I do for and I can't even get a towel??!" At this point, my mom steps in to try and resolve, and while they're talking, I overhear him trying to say that I threathened him or something like that, at which point I just went off. I ran up to him, and we're arguing face to face now...I honestly don't remember what was said, but at one point I almost hit him...I mean like my fist was cocked and I was following through but I just happened to catch myself before walking away. And I'm a little mad at myself for letting this guy get to me like that, but I can't stand people like that. Everybody who knows me knows that I'm a nice--probably to a fault--and when I show somebody respect and they don't show me that respect in return, that pisses me off. And to top it off, he's in my house. How are you gonna come to my house and disrespect me?

He showed a lot of charisma in that APA parody promo he and Charlie did prior to No Way Out last year.

He's not by any means the most misused, but I think they really missed the boat on Tajiri. I dunno if anyone else agrees with me here, but the other day I was thinking about the time he blinded Nidia with the black mist, and how dangerous that made him look. I think he could've had a pretty good run off of that.
  18. In response to the original post...I kinda like this idea. If they decided to go this route, I think it'd be cool to actually start a rivalry between the two on the basis of which belt is more respected. TNA could start building Joe's title matches as "must see" events, and with him appearing so dominant as Champ while Jarrett looks sort of weak, eventually you could start having announcers make little comments about Joe being a star in TNA that may even be above the World Title. This notion could be further reinforced by having a few of the bigger stars in the company (like maybe Christian...guys who could believably main event but not look completely out of place working in the X Division) decide that they'd rather challenge for Joe's belt instead of Jarrett's belt, which would unnerve Jarrett to the point that he begins making increasingly obvious attempts to outdo him and win back some respect. From there you could either have things go to the point that Jeff gets fed up and challenges him to the title vs. title match, or if you didn't wanna go that route, you could perhaps have Jarrett sabotage Joe's X reign, leading to him coming after the World belt for revenge. I dunno how all this'd work, since this would probably devalue the World belt to some degree (although it's not like it isn't devalued already with Jarrett as champ), but I think it'd be an interesting approach, if only because it seems to reflect most people's thoughts about the divisions (with the X-Division being above the Heavyweight Division as a drawing point for TNA).

    Smackdown VS Raw 2006

You know, I really like this game...REALLY...but damn it I REALLYFUCKINGHATE this game! The referee annoys the hell outta me by always getting in my way--I can't tell you how many times I've been DQ'd because the ref randomly walks in the way of one of my moves (the other day it happened in like 3 matches back to back). The dumb thing about it it is that a couple of times I've outright attacked the ref intentionally (I'm talking suplexes and stuff like that) and not been DQ'd, but when he happens to walk in the path of my chop then the match is over. Stupid ass game. I also hate the restrictions they place on the divas. I tried booking something as simple as a 6-woman tag match and the damn game wouldn't let me. And while I'm on 6 man matches, I hate how when you're making a pin or whatever, you can apparently only call one of your partners in for the save while the computer can have both guys run in (unless there's something I'm missing). And I STILL haven't been able to get outta that damn sleeper.

Segments that made you go WTF??

The real "WTF" here was why UT did a back bump on an RKO. Almost as bad as the time someone sold a scissors kick with a back bump. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I thought he sold it quite awkwardly. But with all the bad stunner sells over the years, I'm numb to bad neckbreaker/cutter sells. Slightly off topic. Did Curt "Mr. Perfect" Hennig ever take the Stunner? And if so, did he do his "Cartwheel" style selling of the move? Pretty sure he did get stunned on the Raw after Rumble 02...unfortunately I can't remember how he sold it.
  21. Candice Michelle is apparently #4 on Lycos Top 10 Sports Stars searched in 2005, actually beating out Cena. This struck me as odd considering that about 2 months ago I couldn't even pick her out of a line-up if I tried. And for those of you wondering (and I assume that most of you are), my dear Chyna is #61 on the top 100 list, proving that she's still at least somewhat relevant to the entertainment world...I guess.

In all honesty, I hope Booker sweeps him...or at least puts him away prior to the 7th match. I hate how best of 7 programs always go down to the wire.

Yeah, that's the way I originally had it. I'll probably end up changing it back if that's the one we go with, because it's irking the hell outta me right now.

    Poll: New HD Logo

For the past couple of days I've been working on a new HD logo, since we're unable to find the one we've got now. So far I've gotten feedback/suggestions from Tony, Adam, KC, Patty and PK, and based on their comments I've been able to narrow it down to the two posted below. Rather than keep flooding their inboxes with PMs, I figured it'd probably just be easier to post them here and let everyone choose. Thanks again to the afforementioned posters for their feedback. 25. Really good read. Thanks a lot for this.
