  1. I attended the Rumble. I ordered No Way Out because 1) I had never seen an SD PPV before (and every show I missed was ranted and raved about on the net) and 2) Eddie's title win. I ordered Mania because it's Mania. Plus I really wanted to see Eddie/Kurt, Taker's return and Benoit's title win. Summerslam and the rest of the Raw PPVs...more habit than anything.

    Most boring matches ever?

First match that popped into my mind when I saw this thread. I'll give Sid/Taker from WM13 a nod, since that match bored the shit out of my at a time when I could watch the bullshit matches on USWA and ICW shows and still be excited.

    WWE's best segment ever

That wasn't the segment where Savage got bit, but I'm still a little fuzzy on the rest myself, so I can't help you out. I do remember that being a nice segment though. Another one that I forgot all about.

    AWA Backstage Gossip

Man, I'm starting to think I have the worst taste in women ever. I actually used to kinda like Sherri back in the day...like around the time she first started managing Savage. She also had her moments when she managed Harlem Heat.

D-Von Dudley involved in altercation w/ fan

I'll take your word on the "within reason" thing. As for the rest...and we're probably coming from the same place in the end, because from the little information we have, it is wrong for someone to just say that the fan deserved it, and leave it at that (although in their defense, that write-up is so biased it practically invites that sort of response). At the same time though, I think that assessment of the situation in no worse than someone who would look at the same info and automatically say that D-Von and the WWE is in the wrong, which is how you came off to me. I mean, if you saw it go down, that's a different story obviously, but generally, I don't think it's fair to approach a fan/wrestler altercation as if the wrestler's at fault. Say that it shouldn't have happened or even that he shouldn't have got involved, but until more info is known, you can't really say that he was in the wrong or that he should be punished. That said, I agree with you when you say it'll go overlooked by management. Barring any major media coverage or a lawsuit, they'll probably just ignore it.

Speaking of Austin/Pillman, what about the home invasion stuff with Pillman pulling the gun?

D-Von Dudley involved in altercation w/ fan

Well, I'm black, and anyone who knows me knows that I take my culture and racial issues very seriously. That said, I'll agree that race isn't an excuse at all here. Really, the fan has a right to say anything he wants; it's D-Von or any wrestler's job not to play into their hands because (and this is why generally, I'm not offended by the n-word) by getting upset, you're conceding that they have power and control over you. If D-Von came at him because of a comment, regardless what it was, then yeah he is to blame, because he lost control of himself. However, if the fan hits him or does anything that causes physical harm to the wrestler, then frankly, I think he deserves to get his ass kicked. I don't care if they're professionally trained or not, you put yourself in that situation then you need to deal with the consequences.

D-Von Dudley involved in altercation w/ fan

I was there. I saw it happen. D-Von was clearly at fault. Better? Oh, in that case, definitely, because you have better knowledge of the situation than the rest of us. Still, it's only one side of the story, and I don't see how it makes others wrong to try and make sense of the issue. Just because someone gets in an altercation with a fan doesn't mean he should automatically be crucified. By that logic, the guy could've been raping D-Von's mom in the front row and he would've still been in the wrong for going after him.

D-Von Dudley involved in altercation w/ fan

Man, stop the bullshit. It's a one-sided report clearly written out to paint the fan as an innocent victim. It's only one half of the story. Unless you know the whole story, you've got no authority whatsoever to say that the man should be punished.

D-Von Dudley involved in altercation w/ fan

Who are you to say whether or not he should be punished? All we've got to go on is a fan report--one that's clearly biased at that. Perhaps D-Von was wrong, but for all you know, he could've been in the right. I'm not taking either side, but I don't see how your automatic "D-Von was wrong" stance is any better than anyone who would try to defend him.

D-Von Dudley involved in altercation w/ fan

I heard the Reverand thing was his idea, since his parents were church folk. Also, a lot of blacks really don't care about the Confederate flag (some wear it themselves), so I don't think that's anything to point to.

D-Von Dudley involved in altercation w/ fan

I doubt racism was the issue. I find it hard to believe that being in the business as long as he's been, and considering the type of people that WWE appeals to (I've seen dudes here in Philly throwing up Nazi signs to black wrestlers before) that this would be the first time he's been a nigger or whatever by a fan. However, I do think that the fan did something to provoke him. I don't know the man personally, so I can't say for sure what he would or wouldn't do, but by all accounts, D-Von is cool and down to earth when it comes to fans, and just going off that makes me think that the fan probably crossed the line. Plus that report is biased as hell.

    That too.

It's only up because of Taboo Tuesday. I'd think the fact that they lost viewers as the show went on would be reason enough not to repeat that writing situation from Monday night.

    WWE's best segment ever

I forgot all about that. That had me dying. As for best segment ever...I'm surprised no one's mentioned Austin's ambulance attack on Bret Hart back in 97. Bret's post-cage match tirade prior to WM13 is also up there, as was Vader's attack on Gorilla Monsoon. Edit: Can't forget the Guerreros/Angle/Benoit segments during the SD6 era with Eddie and Kurt trying to convince Benoit that they didn't attack him, with Benoit just staring at them all the while. Taker actually reversed roles on Austin in 2001 and attacked him from the driver's seat when Austin was strapped to the ambulance Yeah, they ripped off a lot of old Austin stuff in 01. I figured by that time they were starting to run out of ideas. Austin's selling of the attack was pretty funny though.

    Favourite 'Mark Out' moments

The ECW reunion-that actually had me and my friends jumping up and down. Michaels' return at Summerslam 02. Jericho/Chyna from Survivor Series 99, particularly when Jericho countered her rana into the Walls. The Austin/Rock brawl from the pre-WMX7 Smackdown, mainly because I didn't think they had the balls to go through with it.

    The early 2004 "classics"

It wasn't that predictable. While you knew that the Michaels/Diesel match had to happen eventually, as a mark, it was really hard to imagine Shawn taking the Rumble. I mean, he was never really booked to look all that strong, plus at the time, I halfway expected Shawn to retire, because he barely wrestled in 94, and had been working for months as a commentator by the time the event rolled around. They did a really good job of downplaying Shawn going into the show, and that's what really makes the match. Hell, I'd even go as far to say that this year's Rumble was more predictable than the 95 Rumble.

EWR 4.0 Has Officially Been Set Free!

Um...I was just messing around in my EWR game a second ago and saw that my tag champs hate each other...it wasn't like that before! Also, one of my created players seems to have developed a friendship with Jeff Hardy...which is weird as hell since I've never had him in my fed. What the hell happened?

Worst show you ever saw live?

That was in Philly, right? I was there for that, and didn't think it was bad at all. Matches weren't anything special, but I remember liking the post-taping ME (Austin vs Rock vs Mankind vs Taker, I believe) a lot...and the post match bit with Austin giving Rock the Stunner over and over was funny as hell. Not a bad show at all...but then again, I liked KOTR 95 (which I also attended), so what do I know.
