97, primarily due to the Hart Foundation storyline. 98 is right behind that. 96 was a pretty fun year between the Monday Night Wars and ECW.

They let the "cock in your mouth" line slip through accidentally, but everything else was bleeped.

Even better!

I would mark my ass off if Edge attacked him here.

Was there a point to that that I missed?

Wow, this is actually kinda cool.

What I meant when I said that was just that while I find wrestling (the matches, characters, etc) entertaining, since 01...with the exception of HBK/HHH from Summerslam 02 or maybe the Angle/Benoit match at Rumble 03, nothing's really been able pull me in and believe in the product. Even though I always knew that it was fake, when I watched wrestling--regardless of the promotion, how good it was, how bad or whatever--I used to be in tune with everything, but now when I watch, it feels like I'm just watching and nothing else. Tazz was the last wrestler that I had any kind of connection with, and since he retired, nothing's really been able to catch me.

I've had a little bit of smark in me ever since I first started watching ECW 95, and it just kinda gradually progressed from there. I would say that the last bit of mark in me died in 01 when Chyna left WWF and Tazz got buried.

There may or may not be some big pimpin' popping off next week. Small pimpin' and medium-sized pimpin' aren't totally out of the question either. Other than that... ...stuff.

Seeing Dusty in this suit on the Ric Flair DVD gave me a good laugh the first time I watched it.

I can't remember exactly what happened, but sometime in late 2002 I think, but someone (Brock?) beat up the Undertaker on Smackdown. After the attack, they showed footage of Taker stumbling around punch drunk that I found funny. Seeing him start back up the ramp, then just stumble backwards and fall into the apron cracked me up. There was one Raw in 99 (and my friends and I had a running joke about this) where Vince McMahon was supposed to fight Ken Shamrock. Before the match, they did a backstage segment that showed Michael Cole (or somebody) running up to Vince with a mic...there may have been an audio problem or something, because you can't hear him calling Vince or anything. The whole segment is just the announcer coming up from behind, Vince randomly turning around and asking "Do you think...that I'm afraid...of Ken Shamrock?", then walking off before the commercial. It was definitely supposed to be serious but it came off so damn random.

I think I like School's Out better.

Rebuttal: Tough to say, because Benoit had a ready made storyline with it. Jericho would have been good in the same position, but the dynamic of the angle would have been totally different. Jericho probably would've been the better choice given the wrestlers involved, since in the past, he's never really been able to overcome HHH or HBK. That'd have been a better story than Benoit's nonsensical jump to Raw after the Rumble. Jericho's also more capable of carrying the show due to his mic skills and connection with the crowd. I really don't think it would've made much of a difference than what we actually got, though.

For what it's worth, I liked the Tornado Punch! I miss being a mark.

How was In Your House a flop?

Oh God, that had me in tears. The fall alone was funny, but what made it even better was that I was watching with my friend who at the time thought it was all real. He got all sad and started crying, and I found it funny as hell. I don't think I ever let him live that one down. Giant running over Hogan's motorcycle before Fall Brawl 95 had me dying too.

Thanks y'all. I appreciate it.

BOOKING for the 8/26 show from Ann Arbor
Papacita replied to Patty O'Green's topic in Brandon Truitt
Board of Directors will meet to discuss the Panther/Bryte feud. Plus, Panther will (finally) face IRS, and if I have the time, Bryte vs Tommy Gunn (J-Dogg's brother). -
Shawn Michaels 1. vs. Razor (Summerslam 95, Ladder Match) 2. vs. Jarrett (IYH II) 3. vs. Mankind (Mind Games) 4. vs. Jannetty (5/17/93 Raw) 5. w/ Austin vs Owen and Bulldog (Memorial Day 97)

Some half-assed house show footage to tie up some stuff I didn't get tied up this week. Plus, Chris Bryte's MAD!

My stuff should be in...before next week. Guaranteed. And what's GCF? -
Sidenote: I hate board errors. Seriously. Anyway, the one thing I think needs changing that I haven't seen mentioned as of yet is that WWE needs to make better use of their overall roster. Why should guys like Val Venis and Stevie Richards be relegated to Heat every week? On the same token, what's keeping the upper-tier wrestlers from having matches (or actual angle developments) on Heat and Velocity from time-to-time. I think it's a bad idea for WWE to have set a set A-roster and a set B-roster. By keeping guys on Heat, you're not only limiting their opportunities for exposure, but you're also exhausting your match ups on the A-shows; just look at how many combos of Benoit/Evolution tag matches we've seen this year, or how many times Kane and Jericho have fought in the last few months. They use up a lot of potentially big matches on Raw and Smackdown, and as a result, it takes away from the PPVs. By giving lower level guys more time on the A-shows, you keep your bigger match ups fresh and make for easier transitions when it's time to push your up-and-comers down the line.

On a similar note, remember when HHH cost Austin a title match against Angle in early 2001? "DAMN YOU, HHH! DAMN YOU! YOU SCREWED AUSTIN YOU SONUVABITCH!!!!! DAMN YOU! DAMN YOU! DAMN YOUR SOUL!!!!!" And what made it that much more funny was that HHH was posing on the announce table while JR was saying all this, so you actually see him pointing up and screaming at HHH.

The nWo beatdown at Disney MGM. Rey getting darted into the trailer had my dying. Also, Eddie's and Chyna's break up angle in 2000. Right after she breaks up with Eddie, Billy Gunn comes up to him and cuts this strong (for him, I guess) promo telling him to stay away from Chyna. He's like, "Pick up that cheap ass ring of yours, because I'm never ever gonna allow you to get close to her ever again. *COMPRENDES?!* ESS-AYYYY?!" Then as soon as he turns around, Eddie grabs a bottle and hits him over the head with it. Probably doesn't translate well on here, but that scene had me laugh so hard.

Damn...a lot of good choices. For me, it's really a tie between HHH/Chyna from WMXV and Rock's from SS. Rock's turn gets enough praise, so I'll choose the other one.
