Most of what I could understand was on point...I think he may have been a bit too harsh on Shawn and HHH, but I more or less agree with his comments.
-
Does CLB count. Lord knows I've never seen anybody work so hard to get a saying over.
-
Yeah, he was great as the Big Shot. His first month or so with Crash was cool too. As for catchphrases, Tazz-"Thug life born, thug life bred and when I die I'll be thug life dead"
-
"How ya like me now"-Hardcore Holly "And that's the last word"-Big Show Rock's one catchphrase..."How ya lips feel?" or something like that.
-
Not even the footballs that he would toss out in the crowd? Oh, I could never forget that. I wanted one of those things so bad when I was little.
-
Ah, I see. I dunno why, but I have absolutely no recollection of Adam Bomb as a face prior to 95. Now that I think about it, other than his cool ass theme song and pyro, I really can't remember anything about Adam Bomb.
-
You know, you could've said please. *shakes head* How rude.
-
You sure about that? I remember him still being heel at Survivor Series 94, but in 95, as a face he lost his KOTR qualifying match to Mabel at the first IYH

Somebody's got some splainin to do... plus TABLE DANCING~! or not.

Well...she did work for ECW. >_> And I do'nt see how anyone can say Sable looks 'old'. She is, but she sure doesn't really look it, she definitely was fuckable just then. Please explain. Theb only woman I saw in ECW was Francine and that was at Wrestlepalooza '97. She wasn't acting llike a stripper, at least not that night She played an airhead in ECW, not a stripper.

LMAO! Classic is great.

Classic doesn't look too bad in the ring.

During a match between Tommy and...I think Raven back in 95, they're fighting in the crowd and suddenly, Styles says something like "Tommy's hit Raven with everything but the kitchen sink." Suddenly, Tommy walks out of camera shot, comes back with an actual sink and hits Raven with it. Probably not as funny now, since it's been done in WWF and all, but it had me in tears. Damn near anything involving Austin was cool too. I remember him doing a bunch of skits dressed up like Eric Bischoff that were pretty funny. He said something like: Austin/Bischoff: (half asleep) WCW Monday Nyquil: Where the Big Boys play with themselves! Someone off camera: It's where the Big Boys play with each other you moron! Austin: (suddenly wakes up) WHAT?! Who said that! I'll call my secretary, who'll call her secretary, who'll call you and leave a message on your answering machine that you're fired! The Wrestlepalooza 97 stuff with Jerry Lawler, Sabu and RVD was probably my all-time favorite moment though. That seemed so surreal when it went down.

It's been rumored for a while now that he would come back as S. Carter, but I don't think it's true. I know he shot the rumor down in at least one interview, plus the Roc is putting out a tribute to Jay-Z album soon, and for him to make a comeback like that would probably hurt the sales. Most I've heard him say was that he'd possibly be interested in doing another album in a year or so.

BUMP! September 13th, 2001 edition of Smackdown. I have that botch on tape. Dude, just out of interest, was that actually a botch. I thought it was, but I was watching it in the pub and Muggy thinks it was deliberate. Can you clear this up for us? It was accidental - Scotty slipped on the bottom rope when he was coming down. The announcers covered it as being a deliberate "crowd-pleaser" by S2H. Already covered, but yeah, he did that rope slip purposely. I had seen him do it more than a few times dating back to a house show in 2000. Edit: You know, now that I think about it, I remember him doing it as a member of Too Much as well back in 98 or 99. Either way, he did it purposely. As for botches... I recently saw Taker/Hogan from Tuesday in Texas for the first time, and at one point Taker's coming off the ropes or something and he just slips and falls. Had it happened to anyone else, it really wouldn't have been funny, but considering that Taker was in his invincible stage, I found it funny as hell. It's also one of the few old school botches that I've ever seen...or paid enough attention to notice anyway.

I swear everybody and their mom is getting cancer these days. Sad to hear.

Another one I forgot about (and I dunno how since I actually went to the show) was Jeff Hardy over HHH for the I-C Title in 01.
-
HHH and Steph weren't together at that time. For me...HBK and Austin over Bulldog and Owen caught me off guard when it happened, as did Marty Jannetty's I-C Win in 93. For World Title wins...Bret's (I'll never forget that episode of Superstars when they announced him as the new champ), Diesel's, Flair's win at Starrcade in 95 (with Hogan around, I didn't think they'd even let him look at the belt again) and the Giant's title win over Flair on a Nitro in 96.
-
So theoretically, does this put Eugene in line for a World Title shot? Huh? Huh? Does it?
-
I've got that show on tape...well, all except the Brainbusters match. I dubbed it from a friend back in like the 7th grade (1995) and that match wasn't on there. Still, that was a pretty good show. It's crazy to think all that happened so long ago. The Hogan era seems like it was just yesterday.
-
I think he signed the contract with Acclaim during the period following his release in 01, so they're still able to use his likeness in their games. They had the same thing going with Hogan while he was under WWE contract and with RVD (I'm not sure if he's in this game though).

Should The Ultimate Warrior be inducted into...

Maybe if he'd made that face turn in 2001, he'd have had more mainstream noteriety (he was getting there), but the fact that he was a heel for most of his career limits his exposure, because Vince couldn't market him heavily. His name will ring a bell with anyone familiar with the product, but his name recognition outside of that circle is very limited. Just look at how long it took him to get that role in Blade 3 (reportedly, with a lot of pushing from the WWE office). I'd say Godfather and Val Venis were bigger targets than Taker ever was, as the majority of the anti-WWF reports focused on the fact that they had porn stars and pimps on the show. On that note, if you went around today and mentioned the names Val Venis and Ultimate Warrior, who's more likely to be remembered? Edit: Let me explain where I'm coming from here, since I know I'm gonna get called on it. Basically, when it comes to the media backlash, it was these characters' actions that got the media attention, not the names themselves, and the same goes for Taker's stuff during that period. I'm not so sure that Taker wasn't bigger than Warrior, but if he is, it isn't because of the Ministry stuff. When you mention the Undertaker, most people will think of the deadman character, not the guy who crucified Austin. He may not have been that popular, but because of the marketing he had behind him he was easily recognizable. You really didn't have to watch the shows to know who he was, because when the ice cream truck came around in the summer, he was right there. Turn on Nickelodeon or any other kids show and you'd see him heavily featured in action figure commercials. You could go to Toy R Us or whatever and go by a WWF display and see BIG pictures of Hogan and Warrior. Go to the supermarket and you'd see Warrior's face on boxes of candy. Go to the arcade, there's Wrestlefest (I could be mistaken, but isn't he the guy to beat in order to win the game?). He was marketed so heavily that for a while when you thought of WWF, Hogan and Warrior were the first to come to mind. I can't think of too many people outside of Austin, Rock and Hogan that got the kind of exposure that Warrior got. -

I'm not totally sure about Flair and Taker, but I doubt HHH and Sting would get listed before Warrior. Both men were/are very over, but they're two names that you probably wouldn't know unless you actually watched wrestling. Warrior, on the other hand, may not have had the mainstream exposure of a Rock or a Hogan, but he was marketed very heavily in 90/91 (on lunchboxes, ice cream bars, toys, sneakers, etc) when WWF was still very popular, so much so that he is (or at least was) easily identified by non-fans. -
Nah. She dropped a lot of muscle since she left WWF. From what I can remember from the report, he choked her out and tried to kill her, leading to her getting a restraining order on him. X-Pac actually claimed she was beating him, and he in the incident in question, he only grabbed a hold to try and restrain her. IIRC, Joanie never showed up when the case went to court, and the whole thing was dropped. Plus she said in an interview that the original report blew the incident out of proportion.
