    Feedback for the 2/5/04!!!! HD

I was kinda hoping my segment would've been on after Calvin's promo (my fault for not specifying), but besides that, I liked the show. I'll give it an 8.

    what matches are overrated/underrated

But he was going toe to toe with him just like that at RR and KOTR by taking out his legs. He even had most of the offense. This is why I think Shawn/Diesel from Good friends better enemies is a little bit overrated too. The WM match wasn't as much of a squash. Shawn was just fast and Diesel couldn't catch up to him. The difference was that both matches were No Holds Barred, and with Diesel being a brawler, that plays more to his advantage, which is why he dominated both. Both matches told great stories, and I marked like hell when Bret won the title again.
  3. Maybe so, but their last match left the feud wide open, and with Kurt obviously turning heel soon, this PPV could be the last opportunity they have to close it out. And I'd prefer Champion Angle going into WM to defend against Eddie anyway.
  4. Am I the only one that would like it better if Eddie and Angle traded spots for No Way Out? It would FINALLY put an end to the Brock/Angle feud, and gives Eddie a chance to get his revenge against Show from No Mercy last year. Plus, the 3-way match would seem a little more important, because you'd have 2 guys vying for the Wrestlemania ME who've never been there before. I really think they should've gone the other way around with the Rumble match last week.

    Greatest Wrestling Poses!

DDP's Diamond Cutter sign. Tommy Dreamer's and Raven's poses. Much love for the Frenchie dance.

What kind of old person will you be?

I'd be surprised if I lasted that long, honestly.

    So Chyna Debuts 2/18

I don't think that'd ever happen. As much as people talk about her having ego problems, I'd say she's fairly realistic about her place in wrestling.

    RAW ratings

No, but you see, they couldn't do it without Foley. The ONLY reason the ratings went up in the overrun is because Foley was in it. Nevermind the fact that the overrun is usually higher anyway...

    Update On The Rock

Hmmmmm ok...so putting over Hurricane, and Goldberg on PPV and being involved from February til the end of April only counts as one or two shows and there was no purpose. So much for us all being "smart" marks. You can't even be considered and common sense mark yet. I got the sense that he was referring to the thing with Foley and La Rez from late last year, but even with his two month run from early in the year, Rock did little to nothing for the company in the long run. He did a great job in attempting to put Hurricane over, but after all that effort, Hurricane's back in the same spot he was in before. And Rock *didn't* put Goldberg over. He may have jobbed to him, but by then, he had eaten so much of the man's heat, that a large portion of the audience was booing the man. I like Rock a lot, but really, his short returns have little-to-no effect on the fed in the long run.

    what matches are overrated/underrated

How about the Rey Mysterio/Tajiri series from last year for underrated? Those matches (not including the No Mercy one) were some of my favorites for the year, but they (like most Smackdown stuff) really seemed to get lost in the shuffle and forgotten quickly.

    what matches are overrated/underrated

I wouldn't say that was underrated. Most people look at that as THE MATCH at KOTR 01.

    what matches are overrated/underrated

That's probably my favorite HBK match. Definitely a forgotten classic. As for stuff that's overrated, Austin/Taker from SummerSlam 98...Rock/Hunter didn't do much for me either. I always found the original HBK/Razor ladder match underwhelming (possibly because saw it for the first time about a week before the SummerSlam rematch and saw all the big spots coming). The Bret/Owen cage match from SummerSlam 94 never did much for me...and for the most part, the Angle/Brock series bored the hell outta me, yet the first two matches seemed to get a lot of praise on the board.

I think the XFL could've worked if Vince didn't try so hard to compare it to the NFL. Really, it was no worse than arena football. I still get a kick out of that Simpsons episode where Homer's preparing for the second XFL season. Edit: ^ YES!!

    WWE in talks with..

    AHEM! That's F-A-B-O-L-O-U-S!
  19. You know, you'd think that if WCW couldn't legally show a WWF Championship belt on their shows, then 1. The J-Crown belt would never have been on WCW TV, and 2. Madeusa would've never thrown the WWF Women's title in the trash on WCW TV. Outside of physically taking the belt away from Bret, how was it impossible for him to have it on WCW TV? Well, he was under contract until November 30th and the Montreal match was on the 7th. The belt itself wasn't in any immediate danger.

    Prodigal song

I liked the Unplugged version of "Heart of the City", but more for Jaguar's hook than the song itself (she KILLED that one). As for my favorites from Jay..."Meet the Parents", "Moment of Clarity", "Justify My Thug", "Dead Presidents", "Can I Get A...", "Can't Knock the Hustle", and "Coming of Age II" with Bleek (at least I think that's the name. It's on Life and Times volume II).

The Dames' Diatribe on WWE Raw - 2/2/04

I liked Raw last night, but the main problem I had with the show was Benoit being put out there on the mic, because as you said, it pretty much exposed him. Honestly, I don't feel he should have been on the show last night at all. They should've given him a video package detailing his struggle to win the World title, explaining why he decided to jump to Raw (if it was because of Heyman, they should have him say that), and how much it would mean to him to win the title. From there, they could've had Flair take exception to the video and issue a challenge to Benoit for next week's show, hyping his Raw return as a major thing. I think that would've gone over really well. Edit: Another thing I didn't like about the show last night was the stuff with Shawn Michaels being upset about being left out of the World Title picture due to Benoit's winning the Rumble. If they're not careful (or maybe it's what they have in mind...who knows), fans could end up sympathizing with HBK and resenting Benoit's Rumble win. Overall, they're handling this situation with Benoit terribly. As for the Undertaker thing...I didn't mind that. I never really minded Undertaker's supernatural stuff. Storyline-wise, he's pretty much always had them, and that's one aspect of the deadman character that's always been consistant, so it's easier to accept. Now, if it was Austin or Jericho who came out shooting lightning, I'd have had a problem with it, but with Taker and MAYBE Kane, it really doesn't bother me.

The OAO Raw Thread - 2/2/2004

Man, when Taker comes back, he had better use that damn lightning bolt in his matches. They should've allowed Goldberg to pin Kane though. Having him run away like made him look a little weak, IMO.
  23. For those not already mentioned: From 96, definitely Shawn eliminating Diesel and Shawn tossing Yoko and Vader simultaneously. Benoit eliminated Big Show this year.

    Steve Blackman Interview

I liked the Head Cheese skit where Snow took Blackman to the farm to milk the cow...you know, the one that ended with Blackman beating the cow with nunchucks. I died laughing at that. As for whether or not he should be brought back...nah. In addition to his age, there's the fact that he's been saddled with injuries for the last few years, and even if he can come back in good condition, in all likelihood, he wouldn't be used well anyway. No need to bring him back.

Cover of Monday Night War DVD

Why the hell is that on there? I don't remember it being anything bad, but other than the post-match beatdown on LOD (which didn't mean much in the long run, since they were buried anyway), there really wasn't anything memorable about it.
