The Savage one doesn't look half bad either...although I'm more impressed by the fact that there was actually a WWF cereal on the market at some point.

I'm not sure how obvious it was to smarks, but I didn't see Shawn winning in 95. That came completely out of left field to me. When I heard Flair won in 92, I was shocked too, because even though we all hated Hogan (well, most of us anyway), my friends and I were all sure he would win it again. Austin's and Vince's wins weren't much of a surprise to me.

Not really. It helps, but a lot of people just say what they want and that's it. The only rules that apply for banner requests is that you've gotta pay me $50 per request.

24/7 match is good, plus I'll probably have a promo/skit ready for next week.

My brother was telling me about some guy he used to know who had sex with this goat and got arrested when it started to have babies. Something about the goat's egg being similar to a human female's. Personally, I'd love to see a new race of goat-people running around here.

Mainly the forums, but I check out Truitt's, Dames' and JHawk's columns regularly.

I'd have marked if Heyman used the cell phone instead of a low blow.

I wasn't expecting that. Edit: Another 7 here. Good stuff.

The blow job's in the mail...whatever the hell that means.

Yeah, alright, so I have no life, right? So you know that whenever anything remotely interesting or unusal happens to me, I gotta get on the board and talk about it. Yeah...so like an hour ago I went into a Kinkos to make some copies, and while I was there some guy...out of the blue, just comes up to me and asks me to help him commit insurance fraud. INSURANCE FRAUD!!!!!! I am shocked, appalled and sickened by this whole situation. What is this society coming to when a man can't even walk down the street without being asked to commit insurance fraud???! Today it's "Can you help me commit insurance fraud!" Tomorrow it'll probably be "Hey, can you help me cheat on my taxes?!" Or maybe "Hey, let's go forge some legal documents." I miss the good old days, when you could walk down the street and wouldn't have to worry about anything more than the occasional "Hey, wanna try some drugs"...or at worst "Hey, loan me $50 so I can go fuck with them ho's over there!" I'm scarred for life here.

Oh, of course I did it. Morality aside, saying no would've been just plain rude.
-
Yeah. Still... SICKENING! Absolutely SICKENING!

He basically asked me to make a fake auto insurance card for him.

Sounds tempting if you ask me...

I'm probably the only one in the world who loves the 96 Rumble. That's partially because I'm an HBK mark, but I was seriously feeling that Rumble. Stuff like HHH's little iron man run, Henry Godwinn slopping the heels (yeah I know, but it was 96! I was a mark), the stuff with Vader, Yoko and the Headhunters, Vader going berserk and destroying everyone after being eliminated, the interaction between Shawn and Owen and the afforementioned finish. I still love it everytime I go back and watch it. I really don't understand why it gets shit on so much. For favorites...I'll say 96 for the markout value. Last year's Rumble was great, as was 2001. I just recently saw the 92 Rumble and it was great, but it's a little hard for me to rank it as my favorite simply because there's no real markout value for me anymore. The worst...94 probably. That's the only Rumble I saw that didn't really sit well with me after it was over.

Not to my knowledge.

I think she looks alright. She's been looking a little pale lately and has been dressing kinda odd, but I think that has more to do with her really getting into this Chynna Doll stuff she's been doing lately.

How about we DON'T turn Kurt heel for the fourth time in 2 and a half years? I like Kurt better as face, actually, but if they have to turn him, I'd rather him have a turn in a meaningful way rather than just hotshotting it out of the blue with little explanation, like they've done so many times in the last few years.

I'd like to see Angle and Eddy both go into the Mania match as faces before running with Kurt's heel turn. They could have Eddy go over Kurt by cheating and, most likely, he'll receive a face pop after the match. That week on Smackdown, Kurt goes the Bret Hart route, complaining about Eddy's dishonesty and questioning how fans could cheer for such blatant cheating. He says he's lost a lot of respect for Eddy because real men don't cheat, and if Eddy's any kind of real man, he'll give him a rematch and he'll fight him fair and square to see who's truly the better man. With his manhood being questioned, Eddy accepts the rematch and agrees not to cheat. They put a lot of hype into the rematch, with both men going into intense training, and they could go the Brock/Rock route of showing their training videos, strategies they'll use against their opponent and place heavy emphasis on Eddy's promise not to cheat. Then, when the match actually takes place at Judgment Day, they could either have Eddy beat Kurt cleanly in a hard fought match and have Kurt snap and attack him afterwards, or they could just have Kurt hypocritically cheat to win, then turn and attack Eddy post match when he questions him about it. I think either way, Kurt's heel turn would seem a lot more natural and would be a lot easier for fans to get into than if they just had him randomly turn leading into Mania.

I'm not really sure, but I remember hearing about some sort of contract dispute with Jeff around this time. He used to wrestle in the indys as Moadib (I think), and there were a couple of articles in Raw magazine saying that he was/is a member of the Bloods street gang. I also remember WWF circulating some story about him being a former Dallas Cowboy, but I've never heard anything to verify this.

I think they'd be better off dropping two PPVs than they'd be adding two more.

The OAO Smackdown! (1-8-04) Thread!

Except for the bizarre Angle involvement. Well, you could look at it as Kurt's visit to the troops teaching him the importance of family, which is why he's so concerned with Eddie and Chavo. But last I checked, Kurt HATED Eddy and Chavo. Did he? I can't recall them ever having a serious feud. SD6! Team Angle? The SD6 stuff isn't what I'd call a serious feud...it was a series of matches more than anything else. And the Guerreros/Team Angle stuff didn't really heat up til after Kurt's injury, so he wasn't really involved in it. No, Papacita, you're right. Angle and Eddy/Chavo are BESTEST FRIENDS IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD! After all, don't ALL friends fight each other over tag belts for three months? And isn't a trademark of a REAL FRIEND to send out his proteges to take the tag titles from his friends? They have NEVER liked each other. Why does Kurt like them now? When did I say that they were friends? All I said was that Kurt and Eddie never had a serious feud, so nothing in WWE history that indicated that they hated one another. Now as far as why he "likes" Eddie now...with WWE, who knows, but again, I was looking at it as Kurt's experience in Iraq giving him either a new appreciation for family or leading him to go on some kind of crusade to bring family values or unity back to the WWE, which would probably lead to some kinda heel turn. If this was the case, it'd probably be more an issue of Kurt furthering his cause than actually liking Eddie. -
