    WWF/E Tidbits from the past

Just watched SNME from 10/90. They were doing a whole Octoberfest theme & had Mean Gene hosting a sausage stuffing contest. A really faggy looking Genius with a blond curly wig was described by Gene as a "professional sausage stuffer, who has been stuffing sausage for a long time" - classic

The 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania Thread

They should've had JBL get involved in the Michaels/Kozlov match last night. JBL goes after Michaels, Kozlov gets pissed & shoves JBL, JBL hits Kozlov giving Michaels an easy SCM & victory. JBL/Kozlov @ Mania. But, this whole mania is fucked. I would think matches for Mania are planned months ahead, but it seems like they're coming up with this card out of nowhere. Also, if they add Cena to the Edge/Show match, it looks like the whole card will be interpromotional matches.

The 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania Thread

I didn't realize Kozlov was undefeated going into Raw last night. Wouldn't it have made more sense to do Taker/Kozlov with one of them having a streak end? I know the match probably wouldn't be as good, but the storyline would make more sense.
  4. Yes, Goulet it is! Thanks!!
  5. Was Wrestlemania 6 Andre the Giant's last match ever? Who was the suit with blond hair & glasses that always came to break up brawls in the late 80's early 90's? ex. WM6 - Piper/Brown brawl

The 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania Thread

This is the wrong place to post this, but does anyone realize the WWE will be in serious trouble as far as main event attractions within like 5 years. Think about it, 5 years from now the following will most likely be out of the biz Michaels, Big Show, Taker, JBL, HHH and guys like Edge, Hardy, Cena, & Batista prolly won't be too far behind given how often they get injured Sure, they'll have Orton, but they have just done a really lousy job of building stars over the last couple years.
  7. I know Wayne Bloom was one of the Beverly Brothers, was Mike Enos the other?
  8. Just watched the 41 man battle royal from Thunder in 2000. At the end of the match while DDP & Jarrett are climbing up the stage, it looks like David Arquette comes out w/ a guitar & is gunna hit them with it. Then he falls through the stage...was this planned or did he accidentally go through the stage? Because the announcers don't even mention it & the camera avoids the area.

    The bodyguard angle

Starrcade 87 is really the only thing I've watched from NWA at that time, but I loved Big Bubba Rogers with the Midnight Express & Cornette. He just seemed like he could squash the Rock n roll express. Then he came to WWF & took on jobber persona within a few years. Love it!!!!!!

    WWE Raw - November 17, 2008

    Where's Dibiase?
  11. Why was Bret Hart used so little when he first came to WCW? With how badly they wanted him you would think they would've thrown him into the main event right away. I know he met Flair at Souled Out, but the next weeks after that he was barely on Nitro.

    WWE SmackDown - October 31, 2008

Think of it like hooking These "entertainers" are just a couple ho's being pimped out by their GM's to other shows. Put a chalice and Adamle's hand & have him bitch slap Kane.

Let's Talk About...Diesel's WWF World title run

I really don't see Diesel/Bigelow or Diesel/Backlund being much better then his matches against Sid & Mabel. I truly thing Diesel was near the top of worst champion ever. You want to talk about limited mobility, then you look no further then Yokozuna. But, I think alot of his matches were alot more interesting to watch then Diesel's. Again, this is largely in part to who he faced, but I think Yoko was a pretty decent worker for weighing 500+ Maybe I'm just mad because we never got the Diesel-Man Mountain Rock feud

Let's Talk About...Diesel's WWF World title run

Bottomline is Diesel sucked. His best title matches were RR - Bret, WM - Shawn, & SS - Bret. Notice any similarities? Only the best workers could make it possible for a good Diesel match. Put him with anything other then great workers & you have subpar, boring matches. Character sucked as well & horrible creativity from WWF at the time. That was one of the most kid geared years by the WWF & as a 12 year old I thought it sucked! Not even fan friendly Pres Gorilla Monsoon could gain interest from us diehard fans.
  16. Feb 9, 98 episode of Nitro has Mortis attack Mongo after his victory of Glacier. Mongo eventually beats up Mortis & sends a warning to Bulldog. What the hell was this? Did it lead to a feud with Mongo & Mortis?

they would never of worked as a heel/face

Definately agree with the Sting comment. Can you imagine if he was Hogan's role in the NWO. That wouldn't have worked anywhere near the level it worked with Hogan.
  18. Damn that was a lot of posts on Wildcat Willie. Did Regal go back to WCW in 99 after his short stint in WWF in 98?
  19. Did Nitro have a mascot at some point? I was watching the 1st two episodes from 98 & theres a mascot hanging by the entrance. First week I thought it might be the local mascot but it was the same one the next week. Weird because they made no mention to it & the thing only got on camera in the background as guys came out for matches.

    WWE.com Legacy

I had no idea Poffo did the whole poetry thing before he went heel. It's classic to hear Monsoon talk about how much he loves the poems & then a year or two later he rips the Genius everytime he reads one.

    Monday Night Wars

So I see a bunch of people complain about how they used Sting with his eventual return. I assume mostly everyone is pissed with the outcome of the Starrcade finish. Do you think if Bret stayed in WWF, WCW would've went with a clean finish? It just seems that maybe they were trying too fast to get Bret into the spotlight & screwed up what could've been perfect timing to get the belt on Sting. Plus, Bret went right on to feud with Flair after that so it doesn't make a lot of sense for him to be involved. But, this is WCW so sense was not a high priority.
  22. Probably every PPV in WCW from 96-99. I just started watching Nitro's from 98 & the announcers don't even bother commentating on matches they just constantly talk about the NWO.
  23. Is John Nord the Bezerker?
  24. Think they filmed it? - would be an awesome DVD.
