I was watching Beyong the Mat this morning & there's an event from 97 that has WWF & ECW guys with a main event of Terry Funk v. Bret Hart. Anyone know the entire card of this one? Happened in Texas towards the end of 97 because Bret was champion.

The moment your favorite superstar or any wrestler jumped the shark

Admittedly I don't watch TNA all that much, but it seems to me that Angle has lost alot of his credibility over there. Feuds with Christian & AJ Styles are questionable. Both are good wrestlers, but he should have no problem taking those guys out. -
This shit is whacked!!! I guess these spoilers make a little sense, maybe next week it'll be HHH, Hardy, & Taker v. Show, Kozlov, & Khali (altho i thought Khali was kinda turning face). Why is the US champ getting beat every week?
-
Yeah you're right, 94 was not their big celebrity year. Plus from what i've read, Spring Stampede 94 was a great PPV so they had plenty of talent to use then to waste it on garbage.
-
Did Danny Bonaduce & Christopher Knight really wrestle a dark match @ Spring Stampede 1994? If so, was there any build to this & why a dark match? I'm sure the match sucked, but knowing WCW & there love for celebrities on PPV, you would think they would've put this one on before the main event.

Apparently Mysterio is incomparable
-
What was with Rey Mysterio's attire @ Halloween Havoc 97? Was that just for the PPV or was he wearing full body suits back then? Also, was he heel?

I think Luger's tweener role coming back to WCW in 95 was pretty original. It set up a pretty good angle as well with Sting & Luger against Hogan & Savage & them all being faces. Of course, I don't WCW used it to the extent that they probably should have.

I dont know i figured since the red rooster was a pretty shitty gimmick that JR was taking a shot at him but i could be wrong
-
Just watched Fully Loaded 99 & during the show Jim Ross sends it to Terry Taylor for an interview w/ Taker by saying "lets go to Rooster"...... what a dick JR is

Summer of 99 in WWF ?'s 1.What was the deal with Shamrock not wrestling Jarrett for IC title @ FL? Did Shamrock really miss the show in Canada the night before or was Edge supposed to fight Jarrett & win? 2.Did Edge & Gangrel ever have a proper blowoff? 3.How did Michael Hayes join with the Hardys?

ECW needs to go. Raw & SD should go back to separate PPV's with a yearly one pitting each brand against the other. No more cross promotion stuff. Give the midcarders more feuds & PPV spots. Raw Michaels Y2J JBL Batista Cena Punk Orton Kane Rey Kofi Marella Bourne Rhodes Dibiase Cryme Tyme Cade Haas D-Lo Noble Manu Burchill London Snitsky Regal Burke SD HHH MVP Hardys Henry Taker Khali Umaga Kozlov Show Miz Morrison Dreamer Benjamin Chavo Finlay Striker Ortiz Knox Kendrick Ryder Hawkins Edge Festus Jesse Helms Carlito Primo I think there's definately enough talent on each roster to fill a 3 hour PPV every other month. Then each program can have more important matches like a title match every once in a while. Anyone agree, disagree, think im totally fucking wrong??

Damn that guy got messed up. Now that I think about it, he didn't do the bonzai drop all that much after his title reign from 93-94. After losing to Bret @ WM 10 he didn't really have many more wins on TV until he teamed with Owen. I'm sure they got a win or two with it during their tag title reign, but I know Owen got a couple of the pins & he also started beating people just with the leg drop at that point. & then once he bcamse a face I don't think he ever won.

A 15 min heavyweight title match w/ the Brooklyn Brawler??? WOW!!!!!!
-
Besides Michaels has been hurt half the time. Then you had the whole brand split. Also they had the casket match @ RR 98 so its only been about 10 & a half years.
-
Taker & Michaels never had any interaction?? How bout their program in 97 culminating in the Michaels' heel turn, the formation of DX, the invention of Hell in a Cell, & the debut of Kane.

I was just fuckin around, Horowitz with a belt would've been terrible. Altho it was 1995 so not sure how much worse it couldve been
-
The biggest screw up was when WWF did not put the belt on Barry Horowitz after defeating Skip. Horowitz was totally over w/ the fans!!
-
I was just reading on another post that HHH/Taker was originally the plan for Backlash 02 & then Hogan got the match cause of his popularity. So, why did Hogan drop the belt a month later? Did he cool off with the fans that quickly that they had to get the belt off him or was it only suppose to be a month reign?

When someone is "injured" and out for a few months do they still show up to shows or are they allowed to just go on vacation?

I have a whole bunch of figures from the 80's LJN to Hasbro to WCW Galoob to Jakks. Had about 100 mags from 90's but I sold mostly all of them. A couple of wrestling buddies from early 90's. A bunch of autographs from the 1995 wrestlefest fan thing right b4 wrestlemania 11. I also have a Billy Gunn hat from his Smoking Gunn days. I'm sure it could get me at least 35 cents on ebay. & an endless collection of vhs.

Armchair Bookers:What if Austin couldn't wrestle...
rezinda replied to Zack Malibu's topic in General Wrestling
Where's Kane in all this? I would think with Austin going down you have even more urgency to bring Kane in for a refreshing angle. Although, this leaves you with another big heel and not enough faces. Perhaps the teasing of Taker & Kane as allies becomes a reality with then feuding with DX. Or, you throw Shamrock into the main event scene against Michaels. -
Slamboree 98 to be technical. It included the infamous Bischoff-McMahon match that never took place.

Best of Battle Royals Saturday Nights Main Event - Entire Collection Most unusual matches - Scaffold, Inferno, Bullrope, Bunkhouse Brawl, Barbed-Wire, Weapon on a pole, etc etc Clash of the Champions - Entire Collection Owen Hart Rick Rude Kane Steiners Barry Windham - Altho not many high profile matches Vader Lawler Edge Big Show Yokozuna - I know you're all laughing, but from 93-95 he was the major heel holding the heavyweight & tag title. & of course.... The greatest intercontinental champion of all-time.... The Honky Tonk Man......lol

Why wasn't Taker in the rumble in 95? I know he wrestled earlier in the PPV, but there's been plenty of other RR that had people wrestle a match before the rumble. He would've added a big name to a craptastic roster of shit & in terms of maintaining his dominant image, they could've had him screwed on elimination by Bundy & the other members of Dibiase's group leading to a stronger build into Wrestlemania. They could've even done a double elimination with Taker & Bundy.
