Hah...I had forgotten about the college football pre-emptions. Awesome. I swear 24/7 is awesome at making me feel like I'm 10 years old again sitting in my parent's basement. On a completely non-wrestling irrelevant note, the half hour before NWA Saturday Night was always Mama's Family time.

Slightly off-topic, but after watching this episode last night I was reminded how much I loved those US and TV title belts. I wasn't a big fan of Valiant when I was a kid, but enjoy him now if only for the fact that he reminds me of my 50-something-year-old REO-Speedwagon-listening in-laws. At what point do they move from one to two hours? I assume '87 as this is when I really started watching and remember it being two hours.

The Sportscenter bit was great. For all the awful things that Vince does, he still is amazingly entertaining at times. I suspect Vince doesn't want this resolved immediately as this is probably the best publicity he's gotten in the last few years that doesn't involve steroids or the death of a wrestler. Here's the direct link to the Sportscenter interview: http://sports.espn.go.com/broadband/video/...categoryid=null

Loved Mysterio/Jericho. Batista/Orton and Cena/Show were painfully slow. Hardy/Edge was a decent main event. Kept hoping for a Punk run-in as Edge walked towards the back. And somehow I actually thought the Flair retirement would be the one that actually stuck, but apparently death is the only permanent retirement plan in this biz.

The OaO Monday Night Raw thread for 5/4/09!
vond freedom replied to TheFranchise's topic in The WWE Folder
A few thoughts - Miz was the only worthwhile thing on this show. - I'm all for the MVP push, but he seemed slightly out of placed and forced into the spot tonight. - Stepping back from the McMahon reality where they can take on anything and anyone and get theirs, SuperShane needs to get his ass kicked. Soundly. Without getting any offense. I don't care if you're entire family has been assaulted, there's no way that man should be able to do anything to your heavyweight champion, let alone him and his two buddies. - This Raw was so awesome it motivated me to do my medical reimbursement paperwork that I've been putting off for 9 months. -
WWE SmackDown!: The OaO thread for May 1!

Loved the crowd pop for Punk. I was hoping the move to Smackdown was his opportunity to move up the ladder and after his mic time with Edge and Jericho it seems like it might be just that. Overall a great mix of talent with the new crew. -
Just started getting 24/7 and wondered what WWE was doing with Benoit on the old Nitros (as I haven't seen him in the two weeks I've been watching) - just editing out any matches/promos/references?
