Vintage Lawler!
I'm not dissing Cole. That's probably the most appropriate use of "vintage" Cole has ever managed.
-
I haven't seen David Otunga wrestle yet, but apparently he has a lawyer gimmick, including a finisher called "The Closing Argmuent."
Awesome. As far as I know, no one has ever done a lawyer gimmick, which seems to be an easy way to get over as a heel.

"All I know is that the Raw table used to be at our left. It is no longer there."
Grisham is so great.
-
Don't sell Grisham short. His work is more subtle, but he still brings it to the table.
Striker is the treble; Grisham is the bass.

The Great Khali make an appearance in the Onion.
Sort of.
Looking at that figure, I wish he'd bring back the armbands.

“He’s innocent until proven guilty,” Angle said. “As the leader of the Main Event Mafia, I am a huge fan of the Illinois style of politics. As such, Governor Blagojevich is welcome to join me and the entire Main Event Mafia at any and all TNA events in the future, and certainly is welcome to sell his seat with us should he choose not to accept our generous offer.”Even coming on the heels of the Sarah Palin debacle, i think this is hilarious. When the MEM decide you might be a good fit for their company, then you have sunk as far as humanly possible.

I think Rourke pulling out isn't the worst thing to happen to Wrestlemania. I love a good celebrity match, but a rushed fued between Jericho and Rourke wouldn't be the best use of Jericho. Or Rourke, even.

Looking at the stats from WWE, eighteen people had zero eliminations and five had one. Three of the the biggest reactions (MVP, Duggan, and RVD) had no eliminations. I think there's enough action in the rumble to go around. You can still advance fueds and make people look goos without them winning or being ironman.
I will say, Duggan and RVD had some great offense, but anyone looking at the stats won't see that.
-
I believe she caught Hacksaw up to no good and was going to rat on him (To whom I don't know) but instead Hacksaw let her in on the action. If that's true, then, by all rights, IRS should be part of the group in the next segment.
Two words: Hacksaw's Eleven.

"I'm a republican."
"Yeah, too bad."
Heh.

MVP breaking his losing streak could have been such a big deal, instead of just another chapter in Triple H Gets to Win, Vol. 11. At least with the streak broken, MVP can go back to being awesome for money.
Also, I'm disappointed with Victoria's immediate retirement. I'm guessing it's related to the cutbacks, or they would have at least given a week's notice. With Victoria retiring and Maryse injured, Smackdown needs more diva heels, stat. I don't want eight straight weeks of Michelle McCool posing and kicking people in the head. Could Gail Kim conceivably return as a heel?

I like how apparently being called knockouts is better than being called divas.Knockouts has the double-meaning going for it.
-
Regal's commentary was awesome. Arrogant but classy, and he established Punk as a serious threat. William Regal with the flu is my new favorite gimmick.

Adamle kinda grew on me in a Michael Scott way as Raw GM.Word.
I'm bummed about him leaving. For all his faults his character was the ideal GM; he made matches, tried to play fair, and didn't hog screen time.

Were hot young liberals just too much for even the evil Republicans to thwart? To say nothing of nubile, eager progressives.

I'll vote for my fucking cat before I vote for Ted Kennedy.Your cat is weak on foreign policy.

I'm still mystified why Mike Knox is "moving" to Raw. I mean, there's nothing stopping him from appearing at any time, and he serves a purpose on ECW.
The best I can come up with is they want to do a Bourne/Knox feud, but it still doesn't necessitate the transfer.

Punk and Kingston win! Name 'em!

I have confirmed with multiple sources that Shelton Benjamin did indeed win the online-only preview match to retain the U.S. Title. I apologize for making such a grand assumption.
In related news, I apologize for my hasty support of the ant overlords, as well as calling it for Dewey.
-
It wasn't his last match as US champion. He retained. And I'm on OS X; my stream is fine. Now you're teasing me. That's just mean.
-
It's not particularly surprising, but the live stream is awful on OS X. So I don't even get to see Shelton's last match as US Champion. I declare Cyber Sunday an unmitigated failure.

I'm disappointed that they explained away Orton's IED as part of the master plan. I loved the shocked face he would make whenever he did something beyond the pale, and it (marginally) explained why Orton could get away with his behavior.
Also, the "Orton cancels Wrestlemania" promo was my favorite part of this fued.
