WWE General Discussion - February 2009

Where is this from, by the by? WON mentioned that he "hasn't been around" and his name doesn't come up, but more towards the "he's there and can contribute, but his interest in marking out for being on the writing team is over". I heard about it from a friend and I just saw this tidbit on another site. PWInsider.com is reporting that actor Freddie Prinze Jr has indeed left WWE's creative team. We reported a few days ago that there had been little to no use of Prinze's creative input on Smackdown within the last several months, and sources have now confirmed that he has left the company. Although Prinze had not been to a Smackdown taping in nearly two months, it should be noted that he was very well liked by the wrestlers as well as most people backstage as he was a very avid pro wrestling fan and has been a follower of the WWE product for many years. Prinze was hired by WWE back in July of 2008 and worked solely on the Smackdown brand. -

Well from the CAL we have seen Razors hair and Mankinds shirt. Is the WWE/Yukes legally allowed to put in Kevin Nash and Scott Halls face? -

Freddie Prinze Jr is no longer a member of the creative team. I bet Buffy is pissed to have him back at home since she isn't really doing anything either. -

I wouldn't go that far. The Knicks will be under the cap and have Fat Eddie and JJ coming off the books in 2011 unless they are able to get rid of them sooner. It would be a miracle. The fact is that the Knicks will have a chance in getting some worth wild and if that doesn't hapen they are still under the cap for the next year or the year after. I rather see the team have a payroll of 40 million and go 41-41 instead of a payroll of 120 million and go 31-51 like they have done the last several years. They're banking everything on picking up someone from the LeBron, Wade, Bosh, Amare grouping. If they don't manage to get one of them, I don't know who they'll be able to get in 2011. I'm not saying they'll be terrible until 2015, but it's going to take a while to put together a team without one (or two) of those guys simply because they'll probably have traded away every other decent piece they had or let them walk to save cap room. If they don't have any of those franchise guys and also lose out on re-signing Lee or Nate because they needed the cap room what would be the draw for a fan to go see the team? The fan hasn't had a reason to watch the Knicks since 2000/2001. They could put out a squad of NBA D leaguers and rookies if they are unable to sign anybody. That team would still be better than any team from 2001 to 2008 for the Knicks. -
When was the last time a #1 movie had an 80 percent dropoff in it's second weekend? It's great to see that Fired Up bombed. That is what they get for putting a 31 year old actor (Eric Olsen) to be the star of a High School movie.

You are missing Ricky the Dragon Steamboat. Former IC Champ. One of the best wrestlers ever. Demolition. 3 Time Tag Team Champs. They were apart of WrestleMania IV through VII. Wrestled for the titles at WM IV through VI. Tito Santana. Wrestled at the first 9 WrestleMania's. He is more of a legend than 70 percent of the roster in the game. Former IC and Tag Team Champion. Rick Martel. 3 Time Tag Team Champion. Upper mid card heel and had decent feuds with Shawn Michaels, Jake the Snake and Tito Santana. Owen Hart is not in due to Martha hating Vince and the WWE. Kevin Nash is under contract with TNA. Foley is under contract with TNA and pissed off Vince for leaving. He was supposed to be in the game and was taken out. -

Yeah I was thinking of Golden Palace where they ran a hotel and Bea Arthur left the show and Cheech Marin came on. -
This movie dropped off quite a bit this weekend. Last weekend it did 40 million in the box office. So far this weekend it did less than 3 million on Friday. It looks to be a 75-80 percent drop for the weekend.

I have to nominate who ever ran CBS in the early 1990's. Every show that they had was with someone over the age of 70 and geared towards senior citizens. Golden Girls, Murder She Wrote, Matlock and Dick Van Dykes crime show. -

I know that he was a butcher in the field 6-9 years ago but it just doesn't make any sense to trade him for a person who is 10 years older. Especially when Aramis had some decent seasons on some pretty bad teams. -

The thing though is that Leiter and Piazza were salary dumps when the Mets traded for them. Steve wasn't the genius who decided lets get Piazza. It was Nelson Doubleday who wanted Piazza and pushed Coupon Fred into making the trade and adding the payroll. -

Wasn't he GM when the Mets made the World Series, and drafted Kazmir, Wright and signed Reyes, along with trading for Piazza and Leiter? I think Strummer was thinking of Burnitz, Mo Vaughn, Robbie Alomar and Art Howe as the manager. He was also foolish for trading for Kenny Rogers. Rogers proved in 1996 and 1997 that he couldn't cut it in NY and was the second coming of Ed Whitson. Bob I am sure you are/were very happy that Rogers pitched for the Mets in 1999 and was on the mound at the end of game 6 1999 NLCS. -
Bethesda I believe has an exclusive deal with Microsoft for the DLC. It's pretty shitty for PS3 owners who are missing out on 3 DLC packs and an increased Level Cap.

GOTY. It does have a couple of annoying glitches like npc's dying or going missing that hasn't been fixed. The game is great as a FPS and as a RPG. It offers replay value by playing as a good guy or as a bad guy. There is also a ton of area to explore. I had the PS3 version but I traded it in for the 360 version due to the exclusive DLC. The graphics/sound are nearly identical.

When was the last time a NBA team has scored 140 in 3 straight games? Edit The Blazers did it back in 1990.

Nocal, Did you pickup Fallout 3? I notice you like FPS but this is probably the best game that came out last year. I think you should check it out if you haven't.

The Raptors are getting slaughtered tonight by the Knicks. The Knicks have 100 points at the end of the 3rd quarter with 4 players with 20 points and a 30 point lead.

Legends of WrestleMania
YourKock'sReallyGreat replied to YourKock'sReallyGreat's topic in Video Games
Here is how I would have done season mode/career mode. If not for the next game. The game covers WrestleMana 1-15. The game starts out in January of 1985. Your wrestler is the next big thing. Half of the roster would be unlockable and based off of the time period. If you start off as Hogan you would have JYD, Big John Studd, Piper, Bret Hart, Koko, Andre, Iron Sheik, Nikolai to feud with. The start of the game would include WWF Superstars every week which would have your wrestler going against jobbers to move you up the ranks and popularity. There would be a SNME once every month/2 months which would have top wrestlers going against eachother to develop or start feuds. It would be treated like the way Smackdown/Raw is treated now. There would be 1 WrestleMania per season. After the first couple of years some wresters would retire/leave (Piper, Andre, Studd) and some will enter (Million Dollar Man, Mr. Perfect, Ultimate Warrior). Royal Rumble, Summer Slam and Survivor Series will be introduced by 1988 in game time. Rumble would be treated like the way it used to be. The Main Eventers actually participated in the event while the undercard would be a feud match, Tag Team Championship match and IC Championship match. Summer Slam would be a card similiar to WrestleMania except that the Heavyweight Title as you are building a slow build towards the next WrestleMania. Survivor Series would be purely for 4 vrs 4 team matches. Your team and opponents would be based on current feud and popularity of the Wrestlers. When 1993 comes around WWF Superstars/SNME are no longer as WWF introduces Monday Night Raw as the weekly show for you to wrestle on. Your retirement match comes at WM 15 where you either pass the torch/championship to (Rock, Austin, HHH) or you lose a retirement match. A further note on the roster is that as the years pass a couple of more are introduced or come back while others leave/retire. The storyline could be that they either retired or went to a rival fed. This is how I would do the unlocking of wrestlers. Future playthroughs you would have the option on having the roster locked or unlocked and if people stay the whole time or leave. The game would have a ton of previous storylines from the past to use and choices for your wrestler to make to either be a face/heel. Some of the storylines could be that your main rival is making the moves on your valet or cheating with your gf/wife (Jake the Snake/ Rick Rude). Another storyline could be that your main rival attacks you during your championship match which you lose and you have a retirement match at WM (Warrior, Savage). Another storyline could be that you are the new big star and all of the Heel Managers want you to join with them. You could either join one of them or pass on the opportunity. If you pass they will send all of their stable against you and potentially cost you your championship. Your way of getting back is to feud with the whole stable starting from the bottom and working your way up to a heavyweight championship match at WrestleMania the next year. -
Larry Miller the owner of the Jazz passed away today from type 2 Diabetes.

That is a steal. He was looking for 10 million a year. Even more of a steal when you figure Roberts just got what 4 years 40 million from the Orioles.
