    Mavs with the choke job today. They had a 105-101 lead with 30 seconds to go at home down 2-0 in the series. Carmelo Anthony hit the game winning 3 pointer with 3 seconds to go to make it 106-105. Nuggets are one win away from the first WCF's in 20 years.

    He changed the game of basketball as the offensive play of the 1980's turned into the defensive, elbow to the face minded game in the 1990's. Lakers and Celtics were replaced by the Bad Boys in Detroit, followed by the Bulls Dynasty. The Knicks to a lesser extent emulated what Detroit did.

    Favre told the Vikings that he was going to retire. Now it is being reported by espn.com that Bret Favre had x rays of his shoulder sent to the Vikings. He will "unretire" if he doesn't need major surgery on his shoulder. This is exactly what Bret wants. People talking about him 24/7 for the whole summer. Will he or wont he? Bret is coming back no Bret is going to stay retired.

    I think it is time for a Mod to get rid of general chat since nobody cares about it.

     

    What other sites do you people post at now since TSM is not as happening as it used to be.

     

    I currently post alot on sternfannetwork.com which is a Howard Stern message board.

     

    I also post at cheapassgamer.com and caws.ws as well. Caws.ws reminds me alot of how things used to be here. The sports threads, the video game threads, the wrestling, tv, etc.

    Update

     

    The wheels are starting to come off a little for the Dodgers. They blew a huge lead and lost their first home game to the worst team in baseball (Nationals) on Thursday. They now lost another game to Barry Zito of all people. Dodgers started Chad Billingsley.

     

    The Yankees finally win a game. Arod hit a 3 run homerun on the first pitch that he sees and CC throws a complete game shutout against the Orioles. CC has started to pick it up his last several starts after starting the season pretty mediocore.

    Canucks are tied 2-2 with Chicago

     

    Detroit 2-2 with the Ducks

     

    Penguins even up the series 2-2 with the Caps

     

    Canes take a 3-1 lead over the Bruins. I read Bruins fans on other message boards were happy to get the Canes. Be careful for what you wish for.

    Rumor going around is that Randy will be a hidden unlockable character and that there will be 7 others including Royce and the Tap Out Guys

     

    -all just rumor ofcourse

     

     

    Well how hard would it have been to put official guys in the game. I know that contracts have to be signed. But it shouldn't take that long to create a couple of people.

    The only thing though was how many wrestlers were getting injured back in the day? I do not recall anyone getting seriously injured from a pile driver. I am sure there was a case here and there. I think one of the reasons it has been outlawed is because a good majority of the wrestlers had become Body Builders turned wrestlers and not just wrestlers.

    Bob Melvin out in Arizona according to espn.com This is what happens when you blow the 2007 NLCS, have a huge start in 2008 and tank the full season. Going 12-17 this year doesn't help either.

     

     

    I am sure Joe Girardi is the next to be on the hot seat with the way things are going in the Bronx.

     

     

    Yankees were down 6-4 in the bottom of the 8th with 2 outs and nobody on. Jeter gets on base and Damon hit a 2 run homerun to tie the game up. Joe Girardi brings Mariano out for the ninth who promptly gives up back to back homeruns to Carl Crawford who hadn't homered in 250 at bats and Evan Longoria who is on an absolute tear. This Yankees team finds a way to cock tease you all night and then punch and kick you in the balls right after. If this were 1989 and not 2009, Joe Girardi and Brian Cashman would have been fired immediately by The Boss.

    Cleveland is just destroying the Hawks tonight. I was hoping for a Heat/Cavs series because I thought it would have been fun to see Wade vs James. The Hawks are just a horrible team that never ever ever wins in the second round.

    Maybe I'm just imaginating thing, but is it possible that THQ will lose its WWE licence in 2009 or 2010? WWE sued them and THQ took the UFC licence to compensate for that lost. EA would most likely be the new developper for WWE games.

     

    I think I've read that somewhere a few months ago....maybe I'm just making things up.

     

     

    The UFC game looks great. Based off of reviews I will purchase it first day if it lives up to the hype. Smackdown has been decent the last several games. The only problem is that it has become a roster update for most people. It really doesn't offer anything new. Plus the gimmick matches are still broken in terms of gameplay. Part of me wishes that THQ would just spend the year fixing the gameplay instead of trying to make graphics better than ever. EA might be a good change of pace if they treat a WWE game with high production values and great gameplay. THQ really dropped the ball on Legends of WrestleMania. It tanked in sales because THQ treated it like a budget title with a budget production cost and it turned away a ton of people (myself included). I honestly thought that the game could have been one of the top selling wrestling games ever.
