*It takes 10 full minutes to climb an 8-foot ladder. *Big words are needlessly substituted in place of simpler, more apt words. (E.g., "External occipital protuberance" instead of "back of the head." Or "intestinal fortitude" instead of "guts.") *Throwing chalk at someone can blind them for an entire match.

Yeh, I want to agree with this in principle. But as I understand it, the crowds were thinning out toward the end of the '80s, even in traditional strongholds like the Greensboro Coliseum. McMahon was a more shrewd businessman who knew how to expand his product and keep it relevent. As much as I loved JCP and even Cornette's SMW years later....neither man could keep his company prospering.

I'd say the best live show I ever attended was the second night of the '87 Crockett Cup tournament. Right before the final bout, Magnum T.A. walked out (with the aid of a cane) to a standing ovation at the Baltimore Arena, and he and Dusty Rhodes embraced. Whole place went bonkers. Also, Flair & Windham battled to a superb 60-minute draw for the title. Good stuff.
