  1. Losing Robbins before the Super Bowl left the Raiders in a tough spot after they put in their back-up rookie Center in to replace him. Of course, things didn't pan out well and the line fell apart during the worst time to. The guy had some serious inner demons. Getting dumped by the team after getting caught with some enhancement drugs sealed his fate. It's too bad he couldn't get his shit together because he was a hell of a leader for that team.

    NEW AVENGERS #1 SELLS OUT

Carnage was just another market saturation character. I never rally cared for him and still feel to this day that he should have been killed off at the end of Maximum Carnage. He hit his peak in that story. I mean, he killed *thousands* of people in the middle of the streets. The character went as far as he was going to get.

    Rage virus vs. Romero Zombies

The rage virus negates being a slow walking zombie. In fact, all of the slow zombies might become rage zombies if they started trying to eat eachother because of their "differences" with each one's genetic make-up. A for effort Mike but an F for kooked out story.

Who reads the TSM content site?

Will, all those guys are passionate about wrestling. I figured that the passion those guys have for their work could have rubbed off on folks and create a new interest in wrestling. Myself included. I wouldn't have held my breath though. You dropped off the TSM radar, as well as mine, when I was trying to get Chris Coey set-up writing. I had forgotten how you even knew the system set-up. I forget how we even hooked back up again to get Chris and the others set-up. I asked Chris to write for TSM back in February but you and I didn't meet up until like April or so (I think) to discuss stuff. I should have seeked your services out sooner than I did. In regards to taking some work off your shoulders, I hated asking you to help set-up *every* new writer. Being a new dad myself, I know what the prgenancy DAYZ~! can be like and you were also teaching too. I didn't want you to get bogged down with TSM stuff. You were the set-up guy and I didn't want burnout to set in with you. It's a thankless job and nothing was forcing you to stick around. Simply put, I just wanted to be able to help you out with the process. Your presence was, and always has been, greatly appreciated around here. I've always valued our conversations. You've always managed to hold my interest with what you have to say. Being a fellow history buff is also pretty cool too. I'm sure we could talk about the Great Depression until the cows come home. I just wanted to make sure you knew I had your back covered. You're a good friend Will.

My mom was the one who would tell me that. It just stuck. I think it's a good saying.

Who reads the TSM content site?

Loss, Chris Coey, Nik, Dames, Teke, JHawk, PK, on wrestling would be like the closest thing to fan nirvana. These guys are passionate about the things they enjoy. Good wrestling falls under this. These guys enjoyed watching good wrestling. But most of all, they will tell you why they thought it was good or why it was bad. These guys have explained their thoughts and feelings better than any others I've seen in years. If guys like Tim Cooke or Michrome would have agreed to come on after things with the guys above had worked out for a while, then I feel TSM would have been loaded with the best wrestling writers on the net. If you wanted quality writing, then come to TSM where the best write. With those guys on board, I feel it would have been difficult to argue against this. They're some of the best writers I've read in years. I really just wanted to help remind others, as well as myself, why I even came to post on a wrestling message board in the first place. TSM had the people to do it but lacked the resources. The Pop Culture section was also the second part of the front site that I wanted to see improve. Both the Wrestling and Pop Culture unit changes were top priority. Having Incandenza, gtd, Spree, Chong, Al, Tom, and other non-wrestling guys on board, who can write, was something I felt the site had a shot at succeeding with. The talent's there. I was thinking about going out around the net and checking out other writers who looked like they knew what they were talking about but I never got around to it. The core of guys we had were more than enough I felt. Maybe later on I'd look around but the writers we had under the Pop Culture banner carried themselves well in their articles for the most part. Unfortunately, I had eyes bigger than my stomach and the whole revamp was poorly handled by me. I didn't check in with the right people at the right times and I never could devote enough time to staying online long enough to see everything go through right. I delegated the technical side of setting things up for writers to the guy who busted his ass for this site for years and knew what to do (goodhelmet) but never returned the favor myself by taking some of the work off his shoulders and cutting him a break. The lack of support on my end is still a disappointment to me. When Will told me he was the most psyched up he had been in a while over wrestling writing, that's when I knew that the passion for it was still inside of him. I was stoked and so was he. Unfortunately, that momentum was slowed down by my incompetence and poor time management skills. That comment meant a lot to me though. Will's one of the coolest guys I've had the pleasure of conversing with online. I was hoping to redecorate and change the front site page to mark the big revamp but that was one of the biggest hurdles that stood in the way. I had no idea the changes would be so involved and time consuming and when IllOne told me about them, I felt like a prick for not being able to take some weight off his shoulders and get some help for him with the front site. I knew he was capable of it. But from the descriptions of code crap that he told me about, those changes made me cringe when I'd ask him if he was working on setting up the changes. Of course, what those changes would be was the obstacle course for fat kids as nothing got done on this end. How could it too when no one knew what the front site was going to look like? Taking full responsibility for this, I felt that I had bungled up the best thing that could have happened to this site by missing the hand-off with the front site changes. Chris Coey called me out on here and I don't blame him. I just wish that I would have allocated more time towards the details. There were some good times this summer along with the bad. The front site revamp was definitely something I had hoped would work but I haven't lost any sleep over it. It’s still a major bummer for me though. It was a hell of a crazy ride while Dames gave us kids the keys to the liquor cabinet but I am glad that we didn't end up burning the board down in the process. Ah, well, it was fun while it lasted. Still, I apologize to everyone for muddling things up. Sorry guys.

It's Official: No WMDs in Iraq.

I only accepted the WMD deal because of the nuke dissassembling agreement that was supposed to be carred out after the first war in Iraq. For years, it had been reported how WMD parts and scuds had been found around in Iraq along with stringing along the UN during inspections. I think everyone knew that Saddam was an evil dictator so he was a separate issue I thought. But then the WMD labs were not found. Then there were reports about how there were labs but how they had been transferred to some other disclosed areas. Oh, and then there were reports about how there were never any WMD's to begin with and *then* the Iraq Invasion started to be started over taking Saddam out of office and "liberating" the Iraqi people. Then the war was put on a trial by a "commission" and then we insulted *everyone's* intelligence a little bit more by concluding that the war was without just cause. My head was beginning to ache. After a while, I lost track of why the US had invaded Iraq and then I just stopped caring. All I know is that the bed has been made and now everyone must sleep it in.
  9. Do the Spiderfan guys know what the fuck they're doing? The book sounds interesting at least.

Doug Christie traded for Mobley and Bradley

Francis acted like a drama queen with his "wake up" kvetching but hating how the Mobley deal doesn't upgrade the Magic in the least might have been the better route. This trade made no sense to me. Neither team gained anything it seems.

    Divisional Playoffs Prediction Thread

Steelers Rams Pats Vikings The Steelers *backups* can field a decent team. Pennington and the Jets should win an SB down the line but not now. Especially now against this Steelers team. CP's been injured too much this season. Mike Martz will not let himself get embarassed by Atlanta again, especially not with all that's on the line. The Falcs and Rams game could be a classic. I think the Pats are still good enough to keep Peyton Manning on his toes and stop him from lighting their team up with TD's. This game looks like it could be close though. Also, I just don't see the Colts defense messing with Brady again as long as Belichek is at the healm. This guy probably already figured out what he did wrong against the Colts the last time they met up and has a whole new game plan ready for them. I don't think the Pats will need to batter the WR's this year in order to stop them. They look like they could hang with those guys. This game could be beautiful to watch. And Smith/Bennett > Westbrook. I don't see the Eagles D being able to stop Randy Moss or the run.

Screamin A gets his own show.

Rome and Smith back-to-back might just raise the rate of suicides in America during the hours they're on.

    Why ya like...

Los Angeles Dodgers Los Angeles Lakers Oakland/Los Angeles Raiders All local team's. They're the only ones I'll live and die with. The Rams sucked for 10 years too long before they finally won the '00 Superbowl for me to stay on the wagon with them. After they left LA, I stopped caring about them though. That win is still bittersweet. Too bad, I always liked watching Eric Dickerson run with the ball.

    Frank Miller. Jim Lee. Batman

They were both less than average for Miller. Moreso Robocop 2 because that was when Miller could still churn out good work (Sin City a couple years later after RC2 came out). DKSA was like a big joke that no one got.

    A Few Opinions Please

Monty is going to become a good power wrestler if he ever learns transitions. Hector Garza is a better as a heel. He could be a player on Smackdown if ever offered a deal. He could make it. Petey Williams was one of the best wrestlers to come into the X Division (with a finisher that defy's sensible logic too). DDP is normally good for putting some effort and hustle into his matches. He had a good WCW Nitro-ish match on the last WCW PPV. Sabu can barely walk. His style of wrestling finally caught up to his body. He's broken down badly over the past 6 years.

Vote in TNA's Year End Awards!

The last AMW vs. XXX tag match reminded me why I didn't like the KOTR '98 HIATC match with Mankind and the Undertaker. Elix pushed it more than he needed. The match would have been fine without the big cage leap of faith spot. I thought AJ vs. Abyss was better than the series of matches that Benoit had with Batista and Kane. But Eddy vs. Bradshaw had better worked matches and the bigot crap actually gave a sensible cause for Eddy going after JBL. Somewhat. The other feuds just saw them spinning their wheels tirelessly. Hogan & Jarrett in New Japan was definitely memorable. If not only for how badly Hogan ended up burning TNA.
