Is 411 still around?
-
I don't see why not. It's not like the Raiders haven't had any other colossal society fuck-ups on their team before. But MC is way out of shape from what I've heard. I guess him and Ricky can share the workout bong then.
-
Absolutely nothing. It's all a matter of hope and Norv Turner swooning Ricky with sweet whispers of nothing. Ricky's a crazy cat but the Raiders could seriously use him. Getting Mike Williams in the draft and picking up Ricky could be hugely awesome or enormously bad, depending on what type of shape those two guys will be in physically and mentally. They haven't played in a year so that could be a major problem right there.

That's a story from the new Spectacular Spider-Man book.

Slayer: Robert Irsay wanted a new stadium. Baltimore and him couldn't reach a deal. In defiance, he took the team to Indianapolis and didn't look back. It also didn't help Irsay when John Elway told the Colts to piss off when they selected him in the draft the year before they moved. Dr.Tom probably knows more about this. VX: I lived in Inglewood and Long Beach during my early years but I attended Rams and Raiders games regularly with my old man and his crew of gents since I could remember. Jim Murray, perhaps the best sports writer ever, had a great article in the LA Times about the slow burn the Rams move had with fans and how the year after they had left, people were clamoring and crying for the Rams to return. It was pretty heart breaking. There is also a heavy East Coast bias in the news since the LA Times is owned by the fucking Chicago Tribune. I can't tell you the number of times I've seen the '86 Bears mentioned in columns for no other relevent reason then to pimp the hometown love. It's sickening. When NWA's first album dropped with Ice Cube and crew sporting the Raiders shit, everyone seemingly became a Raiders fan. After that, the Raiders became associated with gangsta stuff, for better or for worse. Too bad none of those "fans" attended the games. Many of the fans I saw at Raiders games were drunk Mexicans who loved starting fights at the end of the 1st half. Those were some wild games. Fun too but definitely not for the wholesome.

LA will *never* accept another team coming in. They'd have to win a Superbowl in under 5 years in order for it to work. The only chance the NFL had was in '99 when they were setting up the new expansion team that ended up going to Houston since no one in California, one of the richest fucking states in the fuckin nation, wanted to pony up the cash. This town is so fuckin lame sometimes. The Vikings, the Saints and the Colts can all fuck off, since their names have been mentioned *many* times as being one of the "new" LA teams to come in. No one over the age of 30 would accept the ViQueens due to the number of Superbowl and playoff appearances they costed the Rams. That's like the old Yankees and Royals feud from the 80's when both teams tore at eachothers throats to get into the playoffs. It'd be awkward and ugly. The other two teams are run by dickheads who are worse than the Chargers owners, the Spanos Goofs. The Irsay family clan are worse than Al Davis, Art Modell, Bud Adams or any other "traitor" owner who left their city to go play for another one. I mean fuck, this guy snaked his entire team from Baltimore over night. That's some cold shit. Benson, the Saints owner, is a fuckin cheap tool who should be taken outside each year during Mardi Gras and beaten with a roll of paper bags in front of everyone. Prick. The Raiders *could* have a chance but there is still a lot of bad blood between Al Davis and LA/Oakland fans who felt betrayed by them moving back and forth. In other news, Raiders football games are the most watched games in the LA area. So, there's a slight chance it could work. But I doubt it.

The Rams were *GODS* before the 90's. After the '89 season, they became atrocious and even the diehards fans, like my dad, found it hard to root for them. They were one of the most beloved teams in LA though. When they left town, people were crying in the streets. It would have been like the Boston Red Sox moving to play in Portland and *then* winning their illusive title there instead of winning it in Boston. That's the best comparison I can come up with. Their move was that heavy on folks around here. When the Rams finally won the Super Bowl as the St.Louis Rams, it was a bitter, bitter sweet event for many LA residents who lived and died with the team they saw lose at home in the Rose Bowl to the fuckwad Steelers in 1980. The Portland Red Sox, 2004 World Series champions. The St.Lous Rams, 2000 Superbowl champions. It's not right. The Raiders managed to gain more hardware than the Rams when they played in the Colliseum during the 80's. But they never had the crowd numbers or respect that the Rams had. The Raiders were Oakland's team and they just never caught on with LA football fans. They had nearly 60 years of history in the area before they left, with 3 solid generations of fans who grew up watching them. The Raiders were only around for 15 years in LA, which didn't give them the longevity that the Rams had in LA. They won more and accomplished things the Rams had failed at but they never gained the admiration that the Rams had from LA fans. When the Rams sucked dick hard in the early 90's, that pretty much killed the spirit off for LA football fans who had grown tired of watching the Raiders lose. The Raiders had a major drought of loser-itis in the late 80's but then they became really good in the early 90's and almost managed to go to the Superbowl on 2 different occaisions. That still didn't boost LA fan interest. They were not LA's team, they were still the Oakland Raiders to many SoCal fans. Most people pretended the San Diego Chargers did not exist since they were sorry for nearly their entire existence, besides for an early 80's team that kicked ass. They managed to go to the Superbowl in '95 but there was like *no one* around who thought they had a chance against the Steve Young led 49ers. The Chargers are still regarded as a joke, but that's really because they are owned by idiots. Most LA people respect the team but that's only if you mention Dan Fouts to them. LA and SoCal fans could not bring themselves to root for the bastards up north who mangled LA's beloved Rams in many playoff games, which left a bitter taste in a lot of mouths. The 49ers were heroes up north but they never had a chance with the SoCal fans who grew up on seeing Deacon Jones racking guys on the field. When the Rams left, so did LA football fans. Now, we're all dirty football fans who like teams that don't play in the area or the state.

I am dreading the new issue. I gave JMS the benefit of the doubt. I really tried to.

The book isn't heavy on any *necessary* backstory stuff. Nearly all of the characters fought in WW2 or are associated with it in some way. The villains that have been used so far haven't been used in years so there's nothing really important you need to know about them. The current storyline with Baroness Blood ties into the Union Jack mini-series from a couple years ago. Good book, too. That's not something you need to read unless you want to get a better look at the Union Jack and Blood rivalry. Captain America #253 and #254 are required reading though. Those are two of the best Captain America stories ever written, with the former Baron Blood as the main villain.

The Invaders. The new series is the best Marvel book out today.
-
Miracleman #15. The greatest fight in comic book history.

Wolverine vs. Elektra will never be any good. It will only feel complete if one kills the other. Marvel has teased this fight a couple times and it blew each time. This latest story with Wolvie & the Hand vs. the MU is an example of everything that is wrong with Wolverine the story. His character is good. The stories he's been in have been craptastic for the better part of 10 years.

Raiders fans are more reasonable than Fudgepacker fans. It's true. Unfortunately, your car or it's tires might be missing after you come back to it.

The Raiders beat the Broncos. At Denver. In the snow. Can I get a muthafuckin w00t~!?! When the Raiders pick up Mike Williams in this year's draft, they are going to be a sick team. Having a healthy and focused Ricky Williams will also be kinda okay to have I guess. It's been tough being a Raiders fan these last couple of seasons. Tonight's game showed me that they still have some gas left in the tank. Collins did well tonight. Champ Bailey got shat on by Jerry Porter who the Raiders should try to keep at all costs.

Banky should be enshrined at TSM and have 3 shrines built in his name. We can demolish the one Dames has.

I use it. It's a universal term not only relegated to wrestling. There are marks everywhere.

I'm thankful that Al Davis is the Raiders owner. That's all I got here. I'm thankful that Kobe Bryant decided to stay with the Lakers. They'll be champs again in 3 to 4 years. I'm thankful that the Dodgers finally made it into the playoffs after past years of finishing like 2 or 3 games from being in 1st and just missing the wildcard. I'm thankful that USC has Coach Pete Carroll. And Norm Chow. They are contenders once again. I will be *very* thankful if cheap skate owner Frank McCourt manages to get Adrian Beltre to resign with the boys in blue. But I have my doubts.

I thought the guy who killed Tony was also Sosa. I rewatched the movie and then I saw it was one of his body guards who helped dump the one guy out of the helicopter.
-
It also talks about early 20th century acting. Still, the book looks like a crappy read.

I think "whom" could have helped get more people to post in this thread.

I'd say it wasn't incest but him just being *really* over protective. He just didn't want her to fall into the same crap he was into. That's why I think he snapped with Fernando towards the end. He broke the "unspoken rule" about not getting his sister involved with *any* criminals or in any criminal activity. The latter is why I think Tony also got super pissed in the club when he saw her doing the shit he was peddling and snorting.

19th century Russian actors might be something for the history or movie buffs. Or did I miss what you linked?
-
Ricky and Norv Turner, a love rekindled. It was meant to happen. The Raiders winning the SB with Ricky is meant to happen. The Raiders asking for Zach Thomas is also meant to happen. And dumping Rich Gannon MUST happen. He's too old.

Why are you talking about Mike's dick like that?
