    The Office, Season 3

I just remembered, wasn't there supposed to be a big crossover episode with the UK Office cast? It was announced back in October. Or was that for next season?

    LOST

That would actually be really interesting and a great new direction for the show! ....so it probably won't happen. But still, it would be cool.

    LOST

I called the swerve within the first two minutes. It's interesting, but the way it was done was a real anti-climax. I think the flashbacks actually hurt the episode here. Hurley and Locke had the best stuff of the episode. I'm really interested to see where Locke's character goes after this season, it could be the one storyline that will dictate where the series goes. Overall I thought it was okay, but very anti-climactic. Season 2's finale was sooo much better, we got answers, some sense of closure, but still more than enough to drive the show into the next season. This felt less like a finale and more like a two-hour episode. Heroes was better.

    The Dark Knight

I actually like the fake image better. Drop the black colored coat for a dark purple one and you've got a Joker that could look pretty good. This real image looks even more fake to me. Besides, the Joker looks the way he is because of his exposure to chemicals, he doesn't put make-up on. A Joker that actually puts on make-up sounds really stupid.

    Watchmen

Keanu Reaves? Ugh, I hope this is just a rumor. I'm trying to think of an actor for Manhattan, and Ralph Fiennes popped into my head. He could do the cold, emotionless stuff pretty well I think.

    LOST

That better be the case, or I'll be one piiiiised fanboy!!! Is that actor going to be on Regis & Kelly tomorrow, seeing as how that's where the actors of dead characters go on the morning after?

    Marvel's Civil War

I read the Civil War TPB yesterday. It was good, but it wasn't as great as some were saying. Maybe it's just because I read it in trade, but the flow just seemed off, like it was only hitting the "high points" of the event without taking time to breath. It did help that I also read the Spider-Man and FF tie-in trades shortly after though. I'm still going to read the Cap tie-in trade, and maybe the New Avengers one. Overall, I'm not sure I really like this whole "pro government conformity" route that Marvel seems to be going with. Iron Man and Mr. Fantastic really do come off as bad guys here, literally imprisoning their friends and teammates and getting treated like heroes for it. I'll still read books like X-Factor, Runaways, and Daredevil, but the whole Initiative line isn't catching my interest because of this. Anybody else feel the same way?

    Heroes

The fight between Peter and Sylar looked pretty intense. I swear I heard Sylar crying out before Hiro and Ando left, so maybe Peter was winning?

Was it just me, or was the priest that trained Desmond the same one that Eko worked with in Australia?

    LOST

Actually, I was trying to make a point. Thanks for making wanting to talk about one of my favorite shows into a frustrating ten minutes. Have a nice day!

    LOST

I was using the Juliet episode thing as an example. I could have said Locke, Sawyer, Sayid, or any other character for that matter, Juliet was just the first one that sprung to mind. Personally, I don't see how saying what character/event will be focused on gives away anything about an episode. If I say--and again, this is another example--that there's a Locke episode coming up in a few weeks, doesn't mean that I'm going to talk about some big revelation regarding his father. So just because I announce that there will be a DHARMA episode doesn't mean I'm going to give away that.... SPOILERS!!!! ...the Others are actually Cylons from the future who are setting up Skynet on the island to ensure that the Matrix will be built to enslave all of humanity in the year 2012. END SPOILERS!!!! See what I mean?

    LOST

For what? All the information I referenced has already been shown/talked about in aired episodes. And saying that there will be a DHARMA episode doesn't give anything away more than me saying "hey, there's gonna be a Juliet episodes in a few weeks."

    Buffy Comics

I suggest Fray, the trade collecting the story about the future slayer that Joss wrote. It's not a typical Buffy story at all.

    Marvel's Civil War

I'll be getting the Civil War trade in the mail at the end of the month, so I look forward to finally reading this much-talked about series. It sounds like something I'll either love or hate. I know the outcome and everything, but I want to actually read it before making a judgement.

    Dark Tower 7

Overall, I liked the seventh book. I didn't go in expecting it to be the greatest read ever, because to do so would be setting me up for a let-down. SPOILERS!!! The only loose threads from the series I can think of are 1) King tells Roland that Eddie and Cuthbert saved his life as a child; it was brought up but never touched on again. 2) Roland never read the copy of Insomnia that the Tet Corporation gave him. He mentioned that Susannah would read it to him, but she never did. I think the ending is suiting and hopeful. Suiting because Roland's quest did bring misery and death to nearly everyone he met, so of course he had to pay the price of reliving this awful journey for who knows how long! This may have been the hundredth time he reached the Tower. OTOH, it was hopeful because unlike all the previous journeys he had the horn this time. In the poem that spawned the series, the horn played a big part in the end of the journey, so I assume that this will finally be the last time Roland has to complete his journey.

    LOST

From what I gathered, children could be born on the island at one time, but something has changed that. That's why I think Ben is so hell-bent on keeping Juliette's work going. Perhaps the "incident" that Kelvin referred to is somehow linked to this. As far as the questions about the DHARMA initiative, I think we'll be getting some more answers in the DHARMA episode in a few weeks. Mikhail said that DHARMA was wiped out by the Others, and I think we'll get more info on that. It's possible we'll get more info on the Monster, but I honestly think we'll have to wait until next season for that.

    LOST

That was indeed Bea, AKA Ms. Klugh. Yeah, it sucks that she didn't show up until now, but I have a feeling we'll see more of her in flashbacks, probably whenever they do one for Ben. After all, we've seen Ethan in several flashbacks so far.

"Aqua Teen Hunger Force" movie trailer up

I marked out for the Mooninites. If you do an ATHF movie, you HAVE to have the Mooninites!

    Wrestling Society X (WSX)

I only caught the first match and the battle royal. It was an entertaining show, if nothing else. For some reason, this show seems like it's trying to cash in on the "action and sex" aspects that early ECW was pushing for. Which, if you're going for the 18-34 demographic, is probably the best way to go. More action! More chicks! If they're going to keep having musical guests do commentary, they should really have the Insane Clown Posse on, because those guys really know their wrestling and are funny as hell.

    Children of Men

I finally got the chance to see this film last night, and my god it was fantastic! It was just so intense and emotional that I literally had to compose myself when leaving the theatre. This is a real science fiction film, showing people and their world through an alter reality. The remark has been made that the world would not collapse as much as it did. I think that this was fitting to a tee. This is a race that is essentially dying, of course their world is going to be bleak and hopeless. As for the ending, I thought it was very fitting to the film. It doesn't show you what happened, but it gives you enough to know what did happen. This film made me want to cry, rage, and smile sometimes all at once. Any film that can do that earns my respect. This will be a film I will by ASAP on DVD and cherish it.

    LOST

At least we finally find out that they had no idea where the show was going (and with the third Tailie--Eko--dead, it was pretty obvious that they had no idea). In discussing the end of the series, they should use this as an opportunity to figure where they are going and what's going on. Maybe with an actual plan they can get their act together and make the show great again.

    Battlestar Galactica

Well, he did mention in a BSG Roundtable podcast that he wants to end the show when he feels like it's time. He felt that Star Trek TNG should have ended in the 6th season, and has regretted not sticking with that idea. I think the show can go for five full years, but I guess that depends more on SciFi than on Moore & Eick. BTW, is anyone else excited for the possible direct to DVD BSG movie? It's rumored to come out this year, but it's not a for sure thing yet. http://www.geekmonthly.com/news/2006/12/28...-set-to-launch/

    Battlestar Galactica

Do they have a five year plan? I haven't heard Ron Moore or Dave Eick mention anything.

    Children of Men

Damn it! None of the theatres in my area are showing this film! I may have to wait and see it on DVD.

    James Brown Dead

Very sad thing to happen on Christmas. Although I wasn't a huge fan of Brown, I did have respect for the man trying to fight his problems. The world is a bit less cool without the Godfather around.
