Looking at the draft board now, I realize that somebody very important to the formation of me becoming a wrestling fan has not been selected. First let me tell you a story to explain this pick for me a little better. The date is July 8, 1996. I'm flipping thru the channels when I just happen to stop on this one showing wrestling. Now I've been a somewhat fan of wrestling most of my life, but this was different. This wasn't The Hulkster slamming people, and other jacked up looking guys. There was a little guy, all colorful, doing the most jaw dropping moves I've ever seen. Flips and slams and all kinds of acrobatics that made you dizzy just watching him. Now when the time came to make this pick, I realized that I needed a Cruiserweight of the highest magnitude, so therefore, my pick, the 67th in this draft is none other then Rey Misterio Jr. By the way, if you want to know the era I'm choosing from, I want him from 1996-1997, before his first knee injury.

And it looks like 12 hrs has passed.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like Fartsauce has 30 mins before he has to post his pick.

I was hoping for a figure-four, a knee drop on the head, etc. Instead he went with a resthold?? I was thinking either a Flair flop, or the guy was going to strip off all his clothes while elbow dropping them.

So far I've been dodging bullets this round, but my pick hopefully survives 2 more picks.

I have one guy that I'm really surprised has not been picked yet, and hopes he lasts until my next pick (and if I get him, I have the perfect compliment in the 5th round mapped out.)

I'll say this in regards to The Outsiders pick. When I was making my last pick, I was looking towards Money INC as my tag team. I wasn't sure if they fell under the rules of 2 singles paired up, or an actual tag team. mellow stated that it would be allowed (of course I went with a better tag team). So if Money Inc can be allowed, then so can The Outsiders.

Well, there's goes my shot at drafting Spoilers for name drop Also, in regards to the strategy question on this, with the way the draft is working out you're almost expected to jump on the guys you want ASAP or you're not going to get them when your turn comes back around, no matter how far you think they may drop.

I pretty much try to keep 5 potential workers in mind at all time, and if one gets picked, I try and replenish.

I have to say that I'm shocked that we haven't had a female wrestler taken sooner. And Matzo had somebody who was in my top 5 picks (but again, wasn't sure who to pair up with)

I had contemplated taking Dibiase with my last pick, but wasn't sure who to pair him with. Honestly I'm surprised he didn't go sooner.

Sorry, I was debating between 4 picks at this juncture, trying to figure who'd be the best fit. It's kind of hard when you're trying to work out who you should pick, who you can match up for a good match, and who may or may not be around when your pick comes around.

Ok, after a bit of debate, crandamaniac selects with the forty first pick: Beautiful Bobby Eaton! Sweet Stan Lane! The Midnight Express. I figured I'd snap up a tag team here at this juncture, in hopes that the later rounds I can snag another that I am thinking of. Since the Steiners and Brainbusters were already picked, I'd go with another top tag team in the Midnight Express.

Junior Year. I was in some BS class about Business Management, which was an easy A class. We're stuck in this this temporary class room. To know when to dismiss the class, the teacher stopped class about a couple of minutes early, we'd gather our books and wait at the door, watching to see when the gym class that period would get out. Well one day (some time after Columbine, just to put a time frame on this) we gather like usual at the door. We look and there's nobody at the gym. We stand there for 5 minutes, and we're all pleading with the teacher to let us leave because it's time to get to our next class. He won't let us. Finally, after 10 mins of standing there, the assistant principal comes up and yells "What are you doing here, we have a fire drill. Take your stuff and go across the street to the Community College" That being odd in that normally in fire drills, we go to the parking lot of our school. We gather our stuff and go across the street. I meet up with some buddies who explain that it was a bomb threat and not a fire alarm. Apparently some kid (who was in my AP History class before dropping out completly) decided that he wanted his buddies home from school and called it in from a gas station. There was a big shit storm at our school because we were left there for somewhere in the range of 30-45 mins before anybody ever came by.

Yeah, that's what I figured too, being the Holiday and everything. I had to make one pick thru a proxy, and was expecting to have to make my next pick thru them as well, but with the timing and everything I may not have to do that.

I planned on using it as a piece to do that, but it's a little too soon to pick the guy I really wanted. Instead, I'm going to select... He'll be a heel in my version. Maybe with my next pick, the guy I want will be around, and I can pick him and others to use as perfect compliments to him. Ok, that's a really good pick. Didn't see him going so high but now that I think about it I totally can. And Diamonddust, I was about to pick Andre, but outside of name alone, I didn't think there was much there (albeit I've only seen a little of Andre's work)

I would think a good strategy is to use your first few picks to go after the upper main to main event level stars, as they are the ones that will be snatched first. Then just moving down the card. The inclusion of picking tag teams as a single unit kind of throws a kink into it tho, as you may forgo a much bigger name star for a better tag team.

I can think of maybe 10 other wrestlers that would be first round picks, especially with the latter picks.
