Delirious is hands down better than Raw, but Raw is still a great show. "Tell Bill I said have a Coke and a smile and shut the fuck up!"

True. I guess having known about Ang Lee's prior work (and reading up on the film before it came out), I guess I was more prepared for it. All in all, I thought the action sequences were well done. And I still love how Hulk crotched himself when he ripped the turret off that tank. So brilliant in its subtlety.

Bad Blood Main Event announced on radio ad
notJames replied to Kurt Angle Mark's topic in The WWE Folder
Count me in as one who doesn't want to see the 1001st iteration of The MegaCliquers Collide. I don't care if it's in Hell in a Cell, the Elimination Chamber, a barbed wire snakepit or an abandoned three-story tenement set on fire. I didn't care for either of their previous matches, and putting them in a cage won't matter for me either. Feh. -
I think too many people were turned off by the way Ang Lee turned Hulk into a character study instead of a strict action film. It's for this reason alone that I found it by far a more satisfying film than Daredevil. I'm not too strict about faithful adaptations of written material into film, because it's not always in a director's best interest to do so. Some stories don't translate well that way. But it thought that delving into the beast inside of Banner instead of just an hour and a half of "Hulk Smash" made a much more interesting film. My thoughts on Daredevil can be summed up here. Well, not entirely, but suffice to say I was highly disappointed with the story, the acting, and the story. (Yes, I was doubly disappointed with the story.)

Big Name Rappers To Appear At WWE Pay-Per View?
notJames replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in The WWE Folder
I'd be upset too... if I knew what a "rascist" was. Back on topic... no one will purchase a wrestling PPV on the promise of a music act appearing. Either you're a fan of wrestling or you're not. And for the record, I'm the most immature Smiths fan you will ever meet. :: runs off to pull the wings off of flies while listening to The Queen is Dead :: -
Tacos Nets Tequila!!! NJ in five games. But the real wager is on who will get the first ejection: KMart or Rasheed.
-
So after all the surgery, Angle, Edge and Benoit should form a stable called DeGenerated NeX. Yeah, I know, old joke...
-
No thank you. I dare say Helms will never get over in WW_ without the hero gimmick. Especially the ghey dancing boy band persona he had in wCw.

There was no Judgment Day in 1999; it was Over the Edge. Yeah, it was that one. Damn.

If it is Jeff Hardy, I expect him to appear in a mask first, then reveal himself. However, as much as SD! needs stars, I think he would be better served in the OMEGA/Kane storyline. Personally, I don't mind him. He's got more personality than some of the duds they're trying to push as up-and-comers. I'm sure I don't need to name them.

To all those who extolled the praises for Michael Cole's "improved commentator skills," I offer this little gem from last night: What say you now?

Considering how often we've seen this move as of late, I would nominate the Heel Roll-Up With Tights. I remember seeing this move three matches in a row on one of the shows. Unforgiveable.

I thought Storm won. This is the SNHeat match we're talking about, right?
-
Was that a dig on Steven Richards, or am I just being cynical? In any event, Storm's better off this way. Better to try to help the new generations of hosses than end up staring up at the lights for the current crop.

From what I understand, QT is looking to get it distributed in the States, kinda like Shaolin Soccer and other such Asian imports. My boss lent me an Asian DVD copy of that movie this past weekend. None of the menu items were in English, so it took about 20 minutes to find the option for English subtitles. Ziyi Zhang (Jen from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) plays an apprentice in the movie. I thought it was a pretty good movie, but I didn't like it as much as CTHD.

D'oh! Now who do I side with?!? My nation of birth, or the now-tainted lineage of my Lord and Saviour? What's an expatriate smark to do? (sigh)

Benoit is from Alberta, which is not really considered "French-Canadian". That term is usually reserved for people from Quebec, although I don't consider those separatist bastards as being Canadian. (Apologies to anyone from Quebec. Don't want to come off as racist... or stereotypifying... )

From CNN.com LOS ANGELES, California (Hollywood Reporter) -- "Donnie Darko," a cult drama starring Jake Gyllenhaal as a disturbed teenager, is getting a new theatrical release, featuring 20 minutes of never-before-seen footage. Newmarket Films, which released the film in 2001, is unveiling a director's cut at the Seattle Film Festival on May 29. It plans to release the film theatrically in Seattle before moving into other markets later in the summer. The new version will also have new visual effects and music. "Even though I am proud of the theatrical version of the film, I've always felt that the story was somewhat compromised in order to come in under two hours," said "Darko" writer-director Richard Kelly. "With this version I feel like I've finally been able to complete the film." "Darko" grossed just $515,545 at the domestic box office but has since gained a following on DVD, where it has grossed more than $10 million domestically. It also stars Jena Malone, Drew Barrymore, James Duval and Maggie Gyllenhaal.

Shannon Moore has the personality of a wet paper bag. I bet his only push will be out the door. As for JR, he hasn't been relevant since he got hit with Bell's Palsy.
-
I hear ya. I just bought the DVD about a month ago. Luckily I only paid about $9 for it. Usually I wait for certain movies if I think a more deluxe edition will pop up, but I never thought Donnie Darko would be one of them. :: still awaiting Oscar Edition of Lost in Translation… ::

One good thing about Jessica Simpleton and her ilk: they've managed to help me cut down my TV viewing and music spending enough to do things more worthwhile with my time and money. The American Pop Factory needs to be shut down, post haste. All these cookie-cutter interchangeable "music" acts are what's wrong with today's youth. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to head out to CVS and pick up my Geritol.

Nope. Futurama is brilliant. I'm finally picking up Vol. 3 after weeks of saving my pennies. As for the Simpsons, I have no problems enjoying each episode I see, even the bad ones. Like others have said, I'm not one to take an animated series so seriously. Sure there have been many thought-provoking and meaningful episodes in its storied run, but now that the finish line is in sight, it's only natural for the quality to lag a bit. If you don't like the show, that's fine. I was reminded of the subtle brilliance of the show when I saw a re-run of "A Tale of Two Springfields". Kent Brockman is reporting on the town's split, and the background graphic shows the word "Springfield" split in two, but instead of the natural split ("Spring" and "field"), it broke into "Sprin" and "gfield". Little things like that keep me watching.

Good point. =\ But still, how far could he have gone after that? We'll never know.
