For a while, I had to check the actual discs before I'd leave the rental place, because more often than not, they were scratched up beyond belief. There is no let-down quite like sitting down to watch a movie only to have the picture break into rainbow pixels after the opening credits. This happened quite a lot, and I logged quite a few miles replacing discs the same night I rented them. Now they're more vigilant about giving me spotless discs. I still can't understand how people can treat DVDs like shit. Maybe because they're not theirs. That's just plain ignorance and/or disrespect. I find that the more obscure or indie the film is, the less chance there is of disc damage. So thankfully I rent more indie stuff nowadays. The rest of the rabblerousers can keep the Hollywood blockbusters.

Best ending ever: The Last American Virgin. The nice guy never gets the girl. 'Nuff said.

For what it's worth: I don't know which is worse, being buried or having a program with Sexual Forklift.

Now with her legs spread wider She needed to have Louise in side her She said "I'll never forget the first time you kissed me Now I want you to fist me" "Liza and Louise" - NOFX

Why would Booker T or Shelton need a mouthpiece? I think they do just fine on their own. And this nonsense about bringing back old wCw factions went the way of the nWo. Let the dead stay dead.

I know a lot of people who are into animated sitcoms that aren't too high on King of the Hill. Granted it's not as off-the-wall and caustic as The Simpsons or Futurama, but I think people overlook just how well this series has developed. Perhaps not so much in its current incarnation, but that can be said of all TV series that start to run their course. You'd think a sitcom devoted to a "hillbilly" family from Texas would be a mishmash of hackneyed redneck jabs and retread George Bush jokes, but as much as they make fun of Texican stereotypes, it's done with some even-handed cynicism and commentary on both sides of the socio-political fence, as well as a lot of heart, intelligence, and wit. Lots of subtle wit. Take for example "Bobby Slam", the episode where Hank's less-than-athletic son Bobby tries out for the wrestling team. His gal pal Connie also tries out, to the chagrin of the chauvinistic coach and the majority of the male population of Arlen, Texas. Hank's slovenly neighbor Bill quips that women's wrestling is only acceptable in pudding. Cut to a few scenes later, where Connie's mother Minh and Bobby's sexy cousin Luanne are practicing wrestling manouevers for Connie. It turns out while Hank and his buddy are in the alley drinking beers, Bill is watching the women's grappling exhibition with googly eyes and a stirred libido. But, unlike his counterparts, he's not drinking beer. What is he doing? He's eating pudding. Now that's brilliant.

She's been watered down ala Happy Fun Babyface John Cena. No more edge, which means she's lost some appeal for me. Why do Vince and Co. insist on doing stuff like this? Why go full-on face when the crazy tweener shit is what got them there in the first place?
-
Yes. Seriously, get them both. Season 1 was a great start, and it just got better as the series went on. Avoid the commentary by the actors in character. That's just plain lame. I forget which one it is, but one of the DVD sets has these extra segments where they teach you how to draw the main characters, with step-by-step narration and everything. Really cool stuff.

See page 1. Somewhere in the middle.

Same here. I was expecting Akio to take the wicked head bump he usually does with Rey's WCP. Were they really so short on time that they couldn't take an extra two minutes for him to wrestle? Indeed.

People don't/didn't hate FGB because he slipped on the stage. So the point is moot.
-
He was announced as being from Atlanta?!? Didn't hear it, so I can't comment on it. As for Taker... I guess he's replacing Hugh Jackman as Van Helsing. Overall I loved the two World title matches. The Farewell match was surreal. Everything else was filler to me.
-
I still can't get over the fact that Brock laid down for FGB, cleanly no less. I think even the fans in attendance were amazed by it. Talk about kicking a deflated audience when they're down. Sure you can say both guys were being shit on, but he was still a WW_ creation pitted against Turner's former pride and joy. And for Vince to do that... he must have been pretty pissed at him. Personally, I loved the double bird by Brock, both to the crowd and to Austin. He played the heel to the end. That's dedication. Even if I'm alone in this, I sure will miss him.
-
Big disappointment. Apart from the format sucking and no time being given for the match, there should be no surprise roll-ups as a finish at Wrestlemania. Clean wins or nothing at all. I also foresee Ultimo Dragon taking a walk to the airport. Hope he doesn't trip on the way there.

That was superb. Well done, slapnuts!

Supposedly The Company is a really good film (Campbell is trained in ballet and was a producer for the film). It's supposed to be sort of a behind-the-scenes documentary about a ballet company. Lots of backstage drama and such. Hmmm, now where have I heard about "backstage drama and such" recently?

Too bad about those Velocity spoilers then... Keep going... London loses to that pasty girly-boy Shannon Moore. How in the hell does that wimpering simp end up on WMXX and London doesn't? What a world!
-
I really hope this is all a work. Because it would support my theory that Vince has to start working the smarts if he wants wrestling to adapt to this new millennium of Internet spoilers and reality TV and such. Also, because I'd rather Lesnar didn't leave. That would reduce my reasons for watching wrestling by about a fifth.

Do we have to endure an entire year of Old School 'Taker? Can't someone just retire him at Survivor Series, the PPV where he debuted? I'm getting a little (read: extremely) tired of the recent theatrics and cheap carny tricks involved in this feud. Let the dead stay buried.

EDDY~! v. Angle will blow everything else away. I don't know if I'm happy or sad about it, since it's a given that it will be the best match on the card. Nothing else stands out for me. Maybe if the cruisers are allowed to use ladders and other crazy balls-out shit, they could pull off a spot-tastic sleeper match. But I'm not holding my breath.

I was so busy trying to make a CAW Andre the Giant that I forgot to turn on RAW for the Foley/Rock segment. Looks like it was time well spent... for me. And can someone explain to me how Mark Jindrak pinned Booker T with a clothesline after barely five minutes of action?!? I don't think the guy even pulled the tights. After you explain that, can you email JR and tell him to stop with the verbal BJs for the Jobbin' Green Giants? Nobody buys them as anything more the Heat fodder. Oh, and while you're at it, tell him "CLB" is not getting over. At all.
-
Agreed. You know, the more HHH and Benoit's names appear in the same sentences, the more and more I lose faith in this thing called professional wrestling. Whatever happened to doing the right thing? Oh yeah, Clique happened.
-
Yeah. Trading wins with HHH won't do anything to cement Benoit's status as a true Main Event player. That is, of course, if that's what they want to happen with Benoit. Recent history (specifically regarding HHH and his World Title contenders) would point to the contrary.

Any music act that values, promotes, or propogates image over substance. I'm sure y'all can fill in the blanks from there. BTW, I'm listening to Tool right now!
