Rent them both (not necessarily at the same time), and form your own conclusions.

I didn't like it. All it did was open the door for yet another non-wrestler to take airtime away from guys who are paid to wrestle every week. And that gets a big thumbs down for me every time (see McMahon, Shane).

This has been said before in other threads, but it bears repeating: Stone Cold isn't the same guy anymore, and that's what's making him so uninteresting and, dare I say it, damaging to the rest of the roster. Initially, he was the everyman raging against corrupt authority. So it was perfectly within his character to triumph over insurmountable odds. Now he is the corrupt authority, changing matches, disrupting other wrestlers' agendas, and knocking everyone down in his path. Whether he does this with the approval of the audience or not is a moot point: he's using his position to throw his weight around, and it contradicts everything that made him so beloved and revered. The REAL Austin will never resurface so long as he can't wrestle and continues to wear the GM badge. Better to just tune out his hackneyed song and dance and dream of times when he was someone worth cheering for.

Considering the shit stew that RAW has become, that's not saying much.

Give it up, guys… the WW_ bookers gave up on logic long ago. Looking for a solid storyline that makes sense is a futility on par with wishing for Benoit to win the World Championship. And regarding Bischoff, just get rid of him. He's useless. In fact, the whole "evil commissioner" role has been rendered moot by the presence of ubermencsh Stone Cold, who will never be foiled by anyone who isn't named McMahon. Oh RAW, how do I loathe thee? Let me count the ways…

My condolences.

I was more annoyed with Angle and Brock blowing the F-5/DDT counter and then doing it again. It was pretty obvious that it was a counter, even if it was a tad sloppy. Kane's flub could have been better if he had just jumped off the apron and pummelled RVD to take out his frustrations. Instead, he redid the jump and RVD moved, rendering his gaff even more foolish. Nothing says bush league like re-doing a spot.

Short lived TV shows no one seems to remember
notJames replied to King Kamala's topic in Television & Film
I remember that show... the last episode was a really weird cliffhanger of sorts and I was completely put off by the fact that they never paid it off in the end. How about We Got It Made with Tom Willard, Some Guy, and Some Hot Chick... it was about two guys living together and they hire a hot maid. Hilarity ensues. And then there's that show with Elizabeth Peña where she plays a Hispanic maid for a white family, and the daughter is none other than space cadet Juliette Lewis, who's favourite drummer was Sheila E. (Don't ask how I remember that stupid little detail.) My brain hurts now from all this 80s TV nostalgia. -
An open letter to Linda McMahon
notJames replied to Prophet of Mike Zagurski's topic in The WWE Folder
To Johnson and the other UndertakerHart defenders: This is a public forum. Ergo, anything posted on here is open to "public" scrutiny and, often times, ridicule. I think our 18-year-old correspondent is mature enough to suffer the slings and arrows of criticism lobbed at him. And if not, he needs to sell his computer and buy some thicker skin. The point is, no matter how valid the points are, they will always be overshadowed by the piss-poor writing in which it's housed. It's extremely irritating to have to wade through a bucket of shit to get to the diamond inside, which is often the case in Internet forums (TSM being the exception to the rule, of course )If I was Linda McMahon, I would have stopped reading after "hello". To quote Dr. Tom: "I've always looked at it this way: in a medium where you communicate via typing, you're going to look like an idiot if you type like one. It's a shame so many people are so willing to look like idiots." Indeed. -
SOURCE PLZ~! Seriously, is that true, a rumour, or just a humorous interjection in light of Bradshaw's allegations? Not that I give a shit. Of course, I liked the double clothesline she unleashed on the beards last night. However, Cole's insistence on calling her an "Amazon" is giving me unwanted Chyna flashbacks. Damn you, Michael Cole!

The only thing that would make the PPV equitable AND get TWGTT on the card is if they run-in during the RAW tag title match and beat both teams down, claiming they are the only true tag team champs, and then have Rey and Kidman come out and challenge them to an impromptu title match. It would replace four useless RAW wrestlers with four talented SD! wrestlers, give the crowd a better match to watch, and everyone gets a PPV payout. Done and done.

The only way Orton will get any kind of respect from the crowd and "the boys" is if he gigs like Mass Transit. He doesn't have the brawling talent or the presence to make any kind of impact in this match other than as the whipping boy. As for maintaining his pretty-boy looks, he can blade close enough to his hairline to hide any scarring.
-
Prediction: Orton plays rag doll and bleeds all over the place, but gets to eliminate HBK. Will eventually get eliminated by F.G.B. And is there any real question that the Elimination Monstrosity will go last? I think not.

Wasn't fooled. Test couldn't act his way out of a wet paper bag. The inordinate amount of time spent watching him roll around on the mat surrounded by all the principles sealed the deal. Stupid fakers. Didn't they learn anything from the Syracuse Swerve?

Possible SummerSlam Elimination Chamber spoiler...
notJames replied to Downhome's topic in The WWE Folder
I'm not trying to figure out who will win as much as I'm dreading who will win. Anyone other than Jericho walking out of the EC with the Fake Gold Belt would be utter shite*. Everyone else is either too old, too green, or too undeserving. In fact, you can file F.G.B. under all three. * The extra E is for extra excremente**. ** The other extra E is a typo. -
Nice choice. I still remember when he opened for Juliana Hatfield back in '93 or '94 at a place called the Trade Winds in New Jersey. I hadn't heard of him before, but his performance (specifically his soulful voice and strong lyrics) had me and the rest of the audience in complete awe. He is definitely missed in a misguided music lanscape that embraces image and corporate thinking over pure talent. I might have to look into this DVD...

Regarding the creepy exchange between Bisch and Linda: I have no doubt Vince had more than a hand in scripting this. Considering his strange sexual tastes and perversions both on and off-screen (need I remind you of his sneak-a-peek at his daughter's McGuffins), it wouldn't surprise me to learn that he had the two of them rehearse their scene over and over again in his presence. Sick freak.

Bad Religion are one of the only music acts to get it right. The last time I saw them, Greg Graffin went on a little rant about how encores are just masturbation, and that they didn't need the audience to beg for them to play more songs. So he said that they were ending their set with 5 or 6 songs all in a row and that would be the end of it. The crowd ate it up, and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen.

Yes- Vince McMahon has nothing to do with the fact that Orlando Jordan is on TV. Let's blame Orlando and not the guy who put him there Blaming Vince is a given. I just like to spread the love around. Especially to those who don't entertain me.

I know this has been said before, but how is it that UT "gave the rub" to that young whippersnapper John Cena, yet he's the one with a match on the 2nd biggest PPV of the year? I personally would have liked to see Cena doing his schtick on Kimmel's show... of course, I don't watch the show, but I'm sure the transcripts would have been entertaining. Why do I keep watching this shit?

If he was naturally THAT good, why does it seem like he has been phoning it in for the past couple of years? Probably because the wrestling hasn't been as good. It's kinda like the deal with CRZ recapping wCw. He got tired of putting out so much effort for their mediocre product, so he up and left. SKeith has a little more faith in NA wrestling, but I'm sure it feels like an exercise in futility most of the time. So he "phones it in" until he sees something worth writing about. Lots of people do that all over the 'Net. SKeith just gets the brunt of the backlash because of his "celebrity".

Jindrack and Cade give me nothing to cheer about. They're boring, vanilla, character-less… I could go on and on. Sure, they might be competent wrestlers, but there are thousands of competent wrestlers all over the country, drudging through the indie scene. What sets these two guys apart from the chaff, other than they're a little bigger and can throw 10 dropkicks a piece in any given match? Until Vince and Co. give them a visible purpose and direction, they will be perceived as cannon fodder and nothing else. Better to have a stupid gimmick than no gimmick at all.

I read or heard somewhere that the Hopper/Walken exchange was almost entirely ad-libbed. Can anyone confirm? And yes, I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. Great ensemble cast, featuring one of the greatest supporting actors of all time, Michael Fuckin' Rappaport. BTW, the DVD commentary by Slater and Arquette is almost completely unlistenable. They must have been high when they recorded it; that, or they're just dumb as rocks.

Orlando Jordan is talentless and boring, and takes airtime away from wrestlers who are more talented, more interesting, and more talented. Did I mention that Orlando is talentless and boring? Fuck Orlando Jordan.
