New coaches poll: Looks like Texas Tech leaps up due to an impressive win over Kansas. TCU inches every closer to the top 10 and if they beat Utah they could end up being a 1-loss small conference BCS buster. Wouldn't that be cool?

So if they do have a rematch does Silva take him more seriously? I believe Silva got tagged at the beginning of the fight while they were exchanging.

Well OSU loses, maybe that'll shut up all the damn OSU fans calling into the radio stations around here. Then again, I wish OU would just lose another game and get shunted out of the BCS picture because our defense is horrendous and I don't really want to suffer that kind of embarassment again. I'd rather just see them make a Cotton or Holiday Bowl trip and try to fix the D for next season.

Well nice job of OU screwing up BCS style points again. The defense looked like a bunch of retards trying to figure out where to go. And then the offense could've easily put up 80, but instead Stoops decided to be Mr. Conservative (like always) and take his foot off the pedal in the second half. So disappointing.

I was kind of hoping OU made it to 62 at halftime but I'll take this. If the defense shuts Freeman down on the first few plays I guess we can expect to see a lot of Joey Halzle......yay.

It'd be great if the FSN cameras could keep up with the OU offense. Everytime they're on FSN I miss plays.

Well apparently they don't make costumes for guys my size at the store. So I'm stuck finding a mask or makeup and doing something with some cheap clothes to make a costume. I really really like this mask: But I have no clue what I would do with it. Maybe some ripped up clothes with blood on them and a knife to look like a deranged killer? A chain around my neck or around my wrists to look like someone was chained up? I dunno. Any ideas?

Ok guys. Serious question here. I'm dragging this one up from the ashes again. Lately I've found myself enjoying pushups and sit-ups using a medicine ball. Well I started thinking of other things I could do with one. Such as squats where you hold it over head, throw it in the air when you come up and catch it and squat back down. Or jump squats holding the medicine ball. These really get a good burn going in my legs and give me that jelly feeling. My question is, are these smart to do during a weightlifting workout that involved weighted squats? Or should they be done on totally separate days from when I lift weights?

I'm beginning to wonder if Ohio State has worked their way back into the BCS mix. Ugh.

Where is OU in the Harris? Because we end up ahead of USC in the BCS standings but somehow behind them in the coaches poll.

Is this like a club sport? I had missed a few practices because of work and I mentioned to the team president that it sucked to have to balance fun with work. I said "Too bad we're not getting paid for this." and he said "If I was paying you guys I'd expect you all to be in better shape." Well that shut me up!

I'd never seen a game of rugby in my life when I started with my team, now I'm doing just fine. I another country where it isn't a predominant sport I think most people understand those coming out probably haven't seen a lot of the game. And VX, you play hooker? I didn't know that. That's like the meanest dirtiest position on the field. And the guy that always yells at me if I don't lock out correctly.

Remember when the Big XII North wasn't the South's bitch anymore? Remember when Mizzou was an unstoppable juggernaut that was going to contend for the national title? That was only 2 weeks ago. Then the south put them back in their place. I also remember making a comment that OU and Mizzou remind me of OU and Nebraska in 01 where everybody kept saying they were on a collision course for the Big XII title game. Then it ended up being Texas and Colorado. It looks like Texas and KU this year.

I still want to know what the hell is going to happen if Penn State and Alabama lose. Right now OU looks like the best one-loss and if they keep winning their SOS will impress the computer and voters and keep them high enough to be No. 2 in the BCS. I fear some voters will move USC ahead of them to keep that from happening but what if they lose again? The way it's set up right now it looks like a Red River Shootout redux in Miami is possible. Would anyone have huge objections to that?

The Big XII remains the Texas and OU league.

I wonder how high the voters will hop them for beating up the worst team in the country? I'm sure they'll get a lot of points just from their own name value. Meanwhile OU is having a little bit of a RRS hangover, if Texas has the same we may see another new #1 next week.

Because they're the most overrated team in the country.

So, I keep asking myself "Is this what I want to do with my life?" I feel like I've moved into Enterprise as a career for the rest of my life, or at least for the forseeable future. I never saw myself having such a mundane job. But I've been approved for managment training in December. Then in January I'll take the test and be eligible to throw my name in the hat for assistant manager spots. It's kind of crazy, I had no clue what I wanted to do in high school. In college I figured I'd be a hotshot sports writer. When I got into that field and saw it was a dog eat dog field with little compensation I wanted out. Now I'm working a mundane career taking crap from fat ladies and old people that want to rent cars (my most frequent customers for some reason).

I work 10.5 hours a day and then when I come home I'd rather spend time with my fiancee than on a message board. But, I do still find time to complain about sports.

I guess it'd have to be OU. If it was a pro-sport though I'd say it was the Dallas Cowboys. BUT, the Thunder have exploded here and are easily the most popular pro team now. It's insane the amount of support they're already getting.

So ESPN released a mock BCS standing. They have USC at #4. I'm wondering if their crappy remaining schedule will kill their computer rankings. I read that the human love fest for USC might not be enough to keep them above one loss OU and Florida because their schedule strength will continue to plummet whereas both OU, Georgia and Florida play ranked teams. Furthermore if any of them make it to their conference title game I'd assume their computer ranking (and ranking in the voters eyes) will continue to rise.

Exactly, we lost the one game we can't afford to lose. So now we need help to make it there.

Ah a 3-way tie. That makes sense. But, on head-to-head that means you could end up with an '01 Nebraska scenario. The thing is Texas has a hard schedule so it will be hard for them to win out, at the same time the OU vs. State game in Stillwater is looking very tough for OU to come out of unscathed.

That can't possibly be true. Are you sure it's not in the event of, say, a 3-way tie? Well...maybe it was a 3-way tie. Maybe someone that wants to can research it. I thought I heard it was in the event of a tie. It sort of makes sense in this. Ok let's say OU comes out at 4 or 5 in the BCS and Texas is 1. OU wins out but Texas drops one. Since Texas' loss came later than OU's then they would probably fall behind OU in BCS rankings. Let's say everyone in front of OU loses and they make their way to 1 or 2 and Texas who lost late in the season to say Tech is like 5. Well you would have No. 1 left out of the conference title game and No. 5 going to the conference title game for an auto-berth. Then you end up with a possible At-Large BCS title contender.

Ok what if OU and Texas win out and Bama, Penn State and USC all lose? A RRS rematch in the BCS title game? That'd be kind of insane. But I'm sure the voters would keep it from happening. Besides if Texas loses later in the season then I found out a tie for the Big XII south championship won't go to head to head, it'll go to whoever has the higher BCS ranking. That means the Sooners need to win out and have Texas lose late to make it to Kansas City. I guess that makes sense. I mean head to head makes the most sense, but I suppose you want the higher ranked team with a chance to win the conference in the even of a tie. You know to keep an '01 Nebraska from occuring again.
