I guess I have a weird taste in women. I think Danica Patrick is hot, but I don't find Wie or Kournikova all that good looking. I was never attracted to Asians and I don't really like blondes either.

I'm not talking about that situation. I'm saying that in situations where the refs would let other players play he gets a foul if he drives in the lane. I'm saying to get him to stop driving on you you need to get rough with him. I'm not saying shove him out of the air. But you need to bump him or hack him a few times on his way up and make him think twice about coming into the lane. Otherwise he's going to drive on you the entire game and score 30 and he'll get a foul call 9-10 times. So why not make it a legit foul call by getting rough with him? Maybe he'll be bruised or sore and won't want to drive on you by the end. I'm not advocating shoving him out of the air or pulling him off the rim, but a bump or elbow as he blows by you wouldn't be too bad. Gotta do something to defend the guy since nobody on the Wizards appears to be able to keep him out of the lane. You're blowing what I said out of proportion. I'm not saying to hard foul him when he's in the air.

I'm not saying I want the guy injured or anything, but people are going to have to get rough with him in the playoffs or he's going to drive on them all day. Even if he doesn't get the foul he's still going to drive on you, so make him think twice.
-
Because Reggie remembers the days when you didn't get called for a foul for barely touching a guy. More people should shove him out of the air like that, then maybe he'll get scared of driving and drawing tick-tacky fouls. Sorry you're not going to convince me otherwise, I know how the star system works in the NBA and Lebron is a star, he gets calls. Obviously that was a bad foul, but they need to keep him out of the lane by any means possible or he'll be getting constant and-1's.

The colour man for TNT would've been fired just now if he'd worked for ESPN. He observed that the only reason there was such a hoopla around the hard foul is because it was on Lebron. He basically said if it was anybody else it would've been a hard foul and they would've moved on. Good observation. Also way to crush my hopes and dreams Washington. Oh well, neither of these teams will be in the finals so who cares.

Well it's not like they play for a sports team. I mean it's not like you get injured in boxing an the organization you're fighting for pays for it.....do they? Usually it's you or your camp that does that right? What about in Olympic sports? Usually it's you or your camp again right?

Well Steve Smith(the USC to Giants one) seems to have been better and more pro-ready than Jarrett. And I seem to remember a lot of draft "gurus" and some scouts saying they though Smith was better and more ready. I remember Smith being more of the guy that they went to at USC when they absolutely needed those tough yards. I guess he wasn't as flashy as Jarrett so he didn't get as much hype, but I do remember him being very good in college and he turned out good in the NFL. Now if only my Lendale White being better than Reggie Bush prediction would pan out......

Yeah with a new market you need something exciting to draw the people in. The moving vans would be pulling up in 5 years if the Bucks came to OKC.

I was reading the SI article on Dixon and that's where I found out about his lightening fast recovery, but I'm trying to remember what the Vince Young comparison was. They were talking about their running styles. I think they said Dixon is better naturally but Young has better instincts and is more violent? I can't remember exactly. Also I need someone to compare Malcom Kelly to. Basically I need it because my mom has been bugging me. She keeps saying watching him in college reminds her of Jerry Rice. I think it's because she would leave my dad for Jerry Rice and probably do the same for Malcom Kelly. They're like her favorite receivers. So she says Kelly reminds her of Rice. However, I don't see that comparison AT ALL. Rice is like 50x better(obviously) and I think he's smaller than Kelly and has a way different style. She claims it because of the way they both catch anything you throw in their direction. So does Kelly remind anyone of anyone? Maybe TO because they're both big and they both whine when things don't go their way. I saw this thing comparing the receivers in the draft to a current NFL receiver and it was kind of cool. Just wish I remember where I saw it. Speaking of Kelly, I saw a mock draft projecting him or Limas Sweed to Carolina because they needed a big guy to compliment Steve Smith. Didn't they get that in Dwayne Jarrett? Or has he not panned out so far? Also speaking of Rice.......is there a current NFL receiver that reminds anyone of him?

I just hope the Eagles get ANYTHING helpful. ANYTHING. So what does everyone think of Dennis Dixon? I really liked the guy before he got injured and I hear he's just an absolute freak because he's farther along in his recovery than he should be. I think someone will get a steal in the later rounds.

I don't think someone who roots for the Celtics gets to complain about media hype this year. At least they hype up the team or the big 3 as opposed to telling me how one guy is better than the rest of the league. Plus the Celtics are actually a legit threat this year(the cavs are not) and they haven't been good in like forever so it's good to see them back. Anyway, the Magic are kicking some ass here. I didn't realize they were that good. Turkoglu is pretty good.

I just hate getting told he's the greatest player ever everytime I turn on the TV. I also hate how they're not called the Cavs but "Lebron and the Cavs" or simply "Lebron". Hell just call them his gang of idiots and it'd be about the same. I still think the Wiz take the series but it'll take them 7 probably. Or maybe not, all the trash talking may not have been smart. Then again the media is blowing it way out of proportion.

Don't teams in LA have to win to get a lot of support? If the NFL team is shitty and USC is still good then they have nothing to worry about.
-
How many years has that been said for Houston? You'd think it'd eventually get fixed.
-
Wasn't that the excuse for why their was such a discrepancy between Wade and the Mavericks? It's the star system. If you're a star in the NBA drive to the basket and you will get fouled. That's why Lebron drives so much, he knows more often than not he will get called. Plus Agent Zero couldn't buy one at the end.

Exactly, Nash is your big shot guy as evidenced by that crazy 3-pointer he hit at the end of the 2nd OT. What a game. I feel bad for the Suns because I like Nash so much and because well, this is what usually happens to them. They always run into something in the playoffs. This is insane that this is the first round. Whoever's getting the winner of this series has gotta be licking their chops at the prospect of the team being tired out.

Does Shaq actually shoot the ball on a free-throw or does he just kind of push it up there?

Pistons...22-8 vs. the West this season, experience, much improved bench, plus I think they would be more in their element as the underdog (which I would imagine they'd be against most of the West teams) if they made the Finals. On another note, FUCK that Wizards/Cavs game earlier. I keep forgetting about the Pistons. And maybe that's what makes them so dangerous. Everyone keeps hyping the Celtics and then suddenly BAM! Pistons win it all.
-
Does anyone feel like the only team in the East that can beat what the West has to offer is the Celtics? I feel like even if the Nuggets(yeah right) were to somehow make it to the finals they'd pound whoever they faced aside from Boston.

I'm glad I have theater tickets tonight so I'll avoid ESPN because every other word is going to be about Lebron. The end of this game is making me sick. I hope he's suspended or reprimanded somehow for that elbow. Then again this is the NBA and it works by the star system, he'll probably be given a medal. If I were the Cavs I'd mug Arenas everytime he drives. He couldn't get a call down the stretch. Meanwhile if I were Lebron I'd never take a jump shot. Just drive and turn into Dwayne Wade. The refs are willing to make it happen.

Travis Lutter sure does talk a lot of smack. He didn't strike me as one at first, but after watching that show I was a little surprised to hear him talking mess on Rich Franklin and Anderson Silva. Didn't Silva have two bum knees in that fight? And he still tapped him out with a triangle? I wouldn't be talking anything to Silva.
-
Well hello Agent 0. He seems to be the lift Washington needs right now.
-
Of course. Lebron could pull out a gun and shoot Gilbert Arenas and he'd probably be given the MVP. 21 free throws to 7.......a discrepancy? In favor of the stars team? Nah.....not in the NBA!

A little late but, that's a great get for Memphis. Well there's this thing going on called the Kansas Barnstorming Tour. Some KU players (Russel Robinson, Darrel Arthur and Sasha Kahn are the names coming) doing a tour around Kansas visiting high schools and doing autograph sessions and playing local HS all-star teams. I'm covering it for my paper in Dodge City. I assume they don't really try in these pick-up games since they'd probably murder the All-Star team if they did, but they've gotta do a few lob passes for dunks. You know, to entertain the crowd.
